I am sure this has been done dozens of times before but still...
what works for you?

So far this time round my nausea is eased most obviously by:

toasted bagels
s&v crisps (of course)
mashed potato, ideally with cheese
macaroni cheese

This is not a long enough list! Please add to it!

sedgiebaby · 14/04/2011 19:04

for me it was fizzy water and ready salted crisps

MissBetsyTrotwood · 14/04/2011 19:23

Ginger oatcakes
Sweet ginger biscuits (both by Nairn's)

MrsMonkey · 14/04/2011 19:30

Ice pops always used to help for me!

MrsMonkey · 14/04/2011 19:32

Oh, and constantly sucking a lemon or normal fisherman's friend (boak - hate them normally and could never face one again now).

pod3030 · 14/04/2011 19:42

oatcakes
dried dates
cold tinned mixed veg for some bizarre reason
mint imperials every half an hour to combat the vile metal taste.

Asinine · 14/04/2011 20:05

Missbetsy. Ginger oatcakes, that's what I couldn't remember. Even better than oatcakes.

I kept a vomit bowl in a drawer in my desk at work, and in the car...

clippityclop · 14/04/2011 20:29

Cornish pasties - our local bakery does them with proper chuck steak and loads of veg. Yum.
M&S Rasberry royale jelly thingies.
Oatcakes and chedder.
Bananas.

couldthisbeit · 14/04/2011 20:32

for me it was Jacobs Cream crackers, morning noon and night and cloudy apple juice from about 7 until 10 weeks. I felt so rubbish burst into tears in M&S because I couldn't face the thought of eating anything I saw. Poor DP didn't know what to do!
couldn't stomach tea or coffee.
then a phase of cheese sandwiches on white bread with a sliced pink lady apples.
macaroni chees, plain hula hoops
although the heartburn is now a killer, it is so nice to be able to eat a vaguely normal diet now!

candleshoe · 14/04/2011 20:44

Ginger is for queasy tummies - so therefore - GINGER NUT BISCUITS!

Staceroo · 14/04/2011 21:06

I missed this off my first post... large quarter pounder with cheeseburger meal with strawberry milkshake!

valbona · 14/04/2011 21:25

this is making me feel happier ... 12 weeks and counting and still feeling sick. nice to know I am not the only one eating a lunatic diet.

cheddar cheese sandwiches
feta and pitta
bananas and yoghurt
peanut butter and ryvita
posh ginger oatcakes

very similar to others. I am so bored!! I want to eat real food again!!! only good thing is that this time I've not gone off coffee. a real treat at 11am with my second breakfast/first lunch

sprinkles77 · 14/04/2011 21:26

jacobs cream crackers. all I ate for 12 weeks. Lost a stone!

Siamsa · 14/04/2011 21:31

Bananas (frozen - couldn't stomach them fresh)
Grapes (also frozen)
Raspberries (yep - you guessed it....frozen)
And of course, salt and vinegar crisps (had to be McCoys though)

Stanleytheracehorse · 14/04/2011 21:42

Mash with...butter, beans, gravy, cheese, with a side of mash
Cold milky things; milkshake, Fruij(sp?), ice cream, ummm cold milk
Am clearly having a retro baby as the only things I could eat were things I have not eaten for 20 years... Angel delight, mini milks, ambrosia custard and creamed rice, and on a non milk theme, Heinz tomato soup
32 weeks now and still eating all of the above as baby "needs" them

Marmite toast (haven't eaten it since though - DD is nearly 7!)
Cheese & pickled onion sandwiches
Pure Orange juice & OJ or lemonade lollies (although orange squash made me really sick)
Kit kats
Extra strong mints/peppermint tea
Ginger nuts
Fruit (couldn't eat cooked veg at all)

Sniffing grapefruit oil can also help.

DumSpiroSpero · 14/04/2011 21:58

And another one for salt n vinegar crisps!

Tgger · 14/04/2011 22:06

Malted milk biscuits

79monica · 14/04/2011 22:13

Plain cream crackers
Cream crackers with crunchy peanut butter on
Fizzy water, preferably Tesco's lemon and lime version (I had to buy a bottle to drink in the car at the end of every Tesco visit in my first 12 weeks because supermarket shopping made me feel so ill!)
Not getting too hungry at any point in the day because feeling hungry made me feel worse too.

Junebugjr · 14/04/2011 22:14

Hyperemesis both times with dd's

All 4 of us in the 'sicky' ward in hospital swore by salt and vinegar crisps, and freezing cold coke - none of the diet crap either. Also one long suffering resident had some success with very cold tonic water and lime juice, which we all took up enthusiastically.

When my hg turned into normal sickness, I had a serious love affair with melon and frozen grapes.

fishandlilacs · 14/04/2011 22:15

hot cross buns, toasted teacakes, fruit loaf.

WhatsMyNameAgain · 14/04/2011 23:16

prob been mentioned already.. I was lucky to have never thrown up in my entire pregnancy but still couldn't eat normally. Sour foods did it for me - tinned tomatoes, tomato juice, kefir, sour cream and suchlike

Smell of MEAT - raw or cooked, or worse, being cooked just made my stomach turn! Still does actually, 18 months after giving birth. That said, I've always hated red meat just never actually made me sick like that before.

Teenytinytoes · 14/04/2011 23:44

Never thought the nausea would end with all 3 pregnancies - each time lucozade really helped.. I used to look at the hideous caffeine ridden orange liquid and sob that I couldn't give my poor babies healthier food...

BTW is morning sickness worse if you're having a DD? Only ask as I have 3DDs and my mum said it was better for her when she was pg with my brother.

wubblybubbly · 15/04/2011 09:33

I lived on
Salt 'n' vinegar crisps, just licking them rather than eating them at one point.

Sherbet lemons
Ribena
Bovril

It was vegetables that made me want to puke, mushrooms in particular.

MamaChoo · 15/04/2011 10:02

Salt and vinegar snackajacks (slightly healthier than crisps)
Lightly toasted english muffins with vegemite ( not as sharp as marmite)
Cloudy apple juice
Lucozade (normally hate, but sugary without actually being sweet)
Peanut butter (for protein, I cant face meat or cooked food)
Milk chocolate digestives
Sweet tea (have never drunk before but seems to help with keeping blood sugar constant, which is also the aim of the Lucozade)
Activia pouring yoghurt (for calcium, it is not as sweet as most yoghurts)
Apples and strawberries
Eating every two hours without fail.

The very idea of ginger tea or biscuits makes me want to hurl.

I fully intend to try put the magnums and butterscotch angel delight...
