I am sure this has been done dozens of times before but still...
what works for you?

So far this time round my nausea is eased most obviously by:

toasted bagels
s&v crisps (of course)
mashed potato, ideally with cheese
macaroni cheese

This is not a long enough list! Please add to it!

water biscuits,
Cheese and onion pasties
dry cereal....

That's what I lived off for about 10 weeks! Oh and the occasional apple cut into really small pieces...

aquavit · 13/04/2011 15:18

ooh, cheese and onion pasties. genius!

cheese sandwiches
tangfastics
anything salty or savoury
fresh orange juice mixed with tonic water

can't stomach ginger nuts this time round after swearing by them before...

Renaissance227 · 13/04/2011 15:19
  • Digestive biscuits
  • Bananas
  • Muller Rice or a glass of ice cold milk (but not
every time!)
  • Sucking boiled sweets or mints

Not found much else that works for very long.
It can change on a daily basis!

Carrotsandcelery · 13/04/2011 15:20

Poppadoms
Jacobs crackers
water biscuits
Dark chocolate with mint in it (lots of) Grin
Pickled beetroot
Pickled onions

Renaissance227 · 13/04/2011 15:23

Pickled beetroot is definitely a good one. I forgot about that! Smile

aquavit · 13/04/2011 15:27

Pickled beetroot? Really?

OP posts:
Renaissance227 · 13/04/2011 15:29

Really. In my tenth week I couldn't get enough of the stuff! I went from sliced to whole baby beetroot in a jar!!!
Pickled onions are good too but not as good as beetroot! x

Carrotsandcelery · 13/04/2011 15:31

I agree - beetroot is far superior to the onions. I ate jars and jars of the stuff when preg with ds. Be warned though - it can cause discoloration at the...er... other end! Blush

lolajane2009 · 13/04/2011 15:31

lol i lived on peanut butter sandwiches.

Carrotsandcelery · 13/04/2011 15:32

I think it is the very very strong tastes of the vinegar that help with the vile metallic taste that you sometimes get. (hence the dark choc and mint too I suspect)

Renaissance227 · 13/04/2011 15:33

I love anything with peanut butter in it too and on occasion that has helped with the sickness.

I did notice a bit of discolouration too Carrotsand celery!! Blush

Renaissance227 · 13/04/2011 15:34

I love dark chocolate but I don't think I've seen it with mint in. Do you mean mint creams? x

Flower1000 · 13/04/2011 15:35

Smoothies, I lived on Smoothies for 3 months

Renaissance227 · 13/04/2011 15:38

LOVE frozen smoothie lollies but it's only the red berry ones that help me with my sickness.

MooMooFarm · 13/04/2011 15:42

I loved anything cheesy and bready - particularly cheese scones (one for breakfast helped me loads), cheese straws, cheese muffins...

And watermelon.

devonsmummy · 13/04/2011 15:42

Peanuts and dry crackers oh and sherbet lemons when pg with DD
Beetroot and carrot - pickled and Mars bars with DS

Carrotsandcelery · 13/04/2011 15:48

I usually went for the After Eights that you can buy in a tube rather than the boxes. They used to be called Mintolas I think. Any dark choc with mint would have done it though eg Matchmakers, Bendicks Grin, G&B etc.

Renaissance227 · 13/04/2011 15:52

Nice one. Thanks Carrotsandcelery. I'm going shopping after work so will definitely be trying After Eights AND Matchmakers!! Grin x

Bumperlicioso · 13/04/2011 15:56

Coco pops
Fizzy haribo
Water with lemon juice squeezed in it
Cake

ILoveDrKarl · 13/04/2011 16:04

I'll second salt & vinegar crisps and specifically recommend frisps or discos - other varieties just didn't quite cut it! Worked best for me if I had a glass of pure orange juice with it. I'll also second mash - lived off it! Lemonade was also a good drink, or fresh orange and lemonade. I also always carried a few packets of Refreshers in my bag - they definitely took the edge of the nausea.

MummyAbroad · 13/04/2011 16:25

my tips!

-olives will dry out your saliva and help you feel less sick
-eating more protein
-drinking mint tea
-frizzy drinks that make your burp
-coconut water has lots of anti sick goodness in it

and best of all eating anti sickness meds from your GP!Grin

H007 · 13/04/2011 17:47

For me it's cheese and biscuits, boiled sweets or chocolate eclairs, pizza, drinking Henry's an peeled apple cut into small pieces.

I wonder if this dictates whether it'll be a baby boy or girl?
