YogaMummy2B · 26/03/2011 10:26

Hi oggy I could be you!!
Off for some reflexology in an hour, chilli tikka masala scheduled for dinner, long walk, some sex and nipple tweaking pencilled in for later!
Have been on the raspberry leaf tablets for about a month as well as some interesting work with evening primrose capsules (google it!)
Wonder which one of us will meet our little bundles first??
Good luck.

Petalouda · 26/03/2011 11:14

Can I join you? I was due yesterday - still nothing.

And how can he be headbutting my cervix so hard and still not be on his way?

MrsBloomingTroll · 26/03/2011 11:28

If nothing else works, try applying sod's law.

Book some non-refundable tickets for the cinema or something. Worked for me!

Good luck ladies x

YogaMummy2B · 26/03/2011 12:05

Hi Peta it's great to be at this stage finally and on board with a few people. I have read with great envy the waiting room posts for the last couple of months. Hopefully not much longer!

clarkland · 26/03/2011 13:47

40 + 3 today!! I've turned into a hermit. Don't want to anywhere or answer any calls in case I have to have the same conversation with everyone I talk to. 'Yes I'm massive aren't I', 'a little uncomfortable thanks', 'who knows could be any time'... and so on!!!! Actually I am pretty scared about what is to come, it's consuming my every thought, I can't sleep and I can't stop eating HELP!!!!!!

MrsBloomingTroll · 26/03/2011 14:06

Someone posted this link to a similar thread a few weeks back (I can't claim credit). A good one to put on your Facebook or text back to anyone who texts you:

I'm 40+5 today and nothing is happening. I've tried everything and I'm soooooo fed up now. My back is aching just under my shoulder blade for the last few days because of the weight of my bump and boobs. I've had pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, curry, which I'm having again tonight, walking, etc but this baby just won't move. I went two weeks over with my first and I've got a feeling I will be nearly the same again.

Midwife is coming on Monday to give me a sweep. I'm going to try and be positive that it will at least start something.

Good luck to you all and I hope we don't have too long more to wait :))

YogaMummy2B · 26/03/2011 21:31

Well, here are some symptoms I am experiencing today. Terrible night sleep last night, woke up at 2.30am with a bad tummy, lower groin/back discomfort a bit like period pain and braxton hicks. This lasted until 6am.
All day today I have been having aches in my groin and my ass now feels like it's about to fall off!!
Wonder if the clary sage reflexology, clary sage bath, rasberry leaf tea, walk, Indian meal, bouncing on my ball, blue cohosh and a little nipple tweaking has worked?!!! Lets hope so!
Anyone else got any news?

PussinJimmyChoos · 26/03/2011 21:35

Can I join you all? Smile

Was due yesterday...was up all of Thursday night with D&V and stomach cramps...DH rang delivery suite and midwife said sounded like early labour...Mum promptly gets on the train to come up and look after DS...

Turned out to be a frigging stomach bug...I was interpreting every twinge and ache but now DH and I are just like yeah right, its just gas, digestion etc

Fed up - moi??!! Grin

SpringchickenGoldBrass · 26/03/2011 21:35

Good luck ladies! You are now members of the club that knows that pregnancy lasts eight and a half months and two years. Or at least that's what the last few days feel like, what with their added bonus of relentless phone calls and emails and FB messages going 'Any NEWS yet?'

PussinJimmyChoos · 26/03/2011 21:46

These last weeks drag don't they!

Midwife also not that helpful....told her I was having lots of pains at top of bump and she said oh you won't get labour pains at the top of your bump...now, she is right in the sense that I have not gone into labour BUT I googled it and there is something called fundal dominance that is labour pains at the top of the bump

I think I am hormonal and midwife wound me up Grin

zannyanny · 26/03/2011 22:07

ooohh i love this thread! 40+5 today and beginning to pull my hair out!
ate loads of spicy curries, tonnes of pineapple and walking on the treadmill, no sign whatsoever (sigh) now ignoring all texts, facebook messages etc too as i can only say nope so many times arrgh! desperately want to meet my bambino, and patience is not my forte hhhmmmmm maybe some yoga will take my mind off it

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/03/2011 22:10

Hello - can I join in? EDD today!

to Petal and Puss Grin

No sign of anything, but I am booked for a section on Monday so not long to go for me now, thank goodness!

PussinJimmyChoos · 26/03/2011 22:12

Ali - what time is your section on Monday? I am exited for you! If you go into labour spontaneously, will you still have a section - tell me off if I'm being too nosey!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/03/2011 22:18

Puss - I have to be there at 8am, but I don't know what time it will be, depends on how many EMCS etc there are that jump the queue!

I'm really not sure what I would do if I went into labour in the next 30 hours - argh can't believe it is only that long now! I was in labour for that long with DS before I had my EMCS!!!
I am nervous about the prospect of labouring - the SPD has got really bad in the last week and I honestly don't know if I could actually get my knees far apart enough to push a baby out!

Do you have a section booked for once you are overdue or will they induce you?

Good luck everyone, fingers crossed you all pop tonight! Grin

PussinJimmyChoos · 26/03/2011 22:52

Well I've got a sweep booked for Friday if nothing has happened by then and a hospital appt on 6th April to discuss futher if nothing has happened again by then

When I saw the consultant I queried induction as I know there is risk of c scar rupture etc and she didn't say oh it will automatically be a c section so I am assuming they may try gentle induction (not pessary) but a drip...am really hoping for a VBAC this time around so praying I go into labour naturally...although I have put on my notes that I don't want induction unless have a Bishop's score of 7 or more

A tip I read on here is to lie down as if you were giving birth, move your knees apart as far as you can - SPD allowing and get your Dh to measure that with string/piece of wool and take that into hospital with you if you labour spontaneously so that way, they can physically see your limitations due to the SPD. I have also read that the ligaments are looser with SPD though which can make the passage of baby easier

Petalouda · 26/03/2011 23:29

Evening all.

Hi Ali!

Can it be possible that a actually have less labour type symptoms than a week ago?

DH is watching this morning's grand prix so I've got the yoda ball in bed - sitting on it is doing weird things to my pelvis, so now I'm leaning over it and rocking slightly. I can almost fool myself into thinking I'm lying on my front in bed. Bliss!

Come on baby. Your time's up and you'll turn into a prune if you stay in there much longer.

Lozario · 27/03/2011 08:04

I'm 40+4 now with my second and quite thought it would be here by now!! I don't know why I had such blind faith in my due date though as DS1 finally appeared at 41+5. I'm still therefore quite hopeful not to be induced though -second sweep and acupuncture helped him to come out.

I hate being overdue. It hit me like a brick wall yesterday - the only thing I could do was have a bath. SO tired :(

here's hoping we don't have to wait much longer...

lucamom · 27/03/2011 08:43

I sympathise with you all - my first son was 8 days late and second was 2. There's absolutely nothing scientific in this (unless gravity played a part), but when I went into labour on the evening with both, I'd spent longer than I should walking around the shops in the daytime, then longer than I should ironing in the evening.

So purely anecdotal evidence from me would be to keep upright (not easy I know, I had a bad back with both and SPD with second, but somehow on those days I (unintentionally) pushed myself and it seemed to kick start everything, where raspberry leaf tea/pineapple/curry/sex had failed with the first - didn't even bother with second!)

YogaMummy2B · 27/03/2011 09:52

Well, at least I got a better night sleep last night, but still no sign of a baby! All exciting symptoms from yesterday seem to have gone since I managed to get more than 2 hours sleep! Although I am surprised I did get sleep as the Indian takeaway caused me to have killer heartburn when I went to bed!
Walking and lots of called for today then. Lucamom, I have nothing left in the house to iron or I would be at that too!!
Bored now, just want to meet my baby!

oggybags · 27/03/2011 09:57

Morning ladies
I went to asda and sainsburys yesterday and NEITHER had the delightful rasberry lead tea grr I didn't expect them to really but had hoped..! Oh well gives me something to do tomorrow!!
Curry last night - whilst lovely cleary to mild and the only dubious side effect today is dodgy breath swoon
I think sex is scaring my husband he is keeping his distance...
Here's to another day of walking & ball bouncing

when xo they start sweeping? Will be 40+4 on weds at mw appt but get impression they won't do anthing till 41 onwards Hmm

ThisIsYourSong · 27/03/2011 10:31

Ooh can I join you?? I'm 40+5 and very fed up. Getting grumpy with everyone, to be honest its getting out and about with the other DCs which is the hard part.

I had one day of lots of BH and then I was sure one contraction the week before last but since then nothing!!

Hospital appointment tomorrow so hopefully they can tell me at least if anything is going on!!

Petalouda · 27/03/2011 12:21

Morning,

Hi TIYS

Now 40+2 (I'd count in hours if I could be bothered to work it out!) belly's solid and painful today (but constantly uncomfortable, not intermittently).

My BH's have really tailed off in the last few days, which is disappointing.

I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow too...

ThisIsYourSong · 28/03/2011 07:32

oggybags - I read on a recent thread that it is your right to have a sweep from 38 weeks onwards. So if you want one, the midwife should do one at your next appointment.

Saw the m/w today - I'm 1-2cm dilated but not effaced at all. Had lots of pains since the exam so hopefully it will start things off. Otherwise booked in for a c/section on Friday when I'm 41+3, unless I can get to at least 3cm before then and they will then do a gentle induction (trying for a vbac). I nearly cried, so don't want another c/section...

Good luck to everyone else!
