Morning ladies, I feel we are being put through our paces with our little babies.

I had lots of tightenings last night but that disappeared when I got up after a couple of hours to go sleep on the couch with restless legs and a serious case of over heating. I really think I would fit in out in the wild, I'm like a little hippo going round the place, huffing and grunting.

Well its D-Day for me tomorrow. Got my induction for 11am. That is the one thing I dreaded having to happen, but if that's what it takes (through gritted teetc). I'm not looking forward to the prospect of my partner being sent home though, as I won't be put onto the labour ward until I am in established labour and god knows how long that will take. DP said he will stay in the waiting room all night just in case. Bless him. I told him I'll pop in and out to say "Hi".

Yogamummy that was an awfully long time to be at hospital. Are you ok now and what is the next step for you?

Oggybags I will be letting MW know that her sweep on me wasn't successful after all!! Lets hope your sweep works and you won't have to wait until next week to be induced.

Fingers crossed all. xx

YogaMummy2B · 31/03/2011 13:30

Oh Mads luck to you. My friend had her baby 10 weeks ago, went into labour the day before her induction! Everything crossed for you.
Feel much better after a nights sleep - thanks.
I can relate to the hippo comment, in fact for some bizarre reason I find that a comforting thought!
Next step for me - back to hospital on Sunday to get bloods done again, if they are still borderline or have detoriated I think they will want me to be induced on Sunday. If all OK, I am back in the hospital next Wed and at that point I reckon they will strongly advise me to be induced/give me a definite date for induction.
I am going to walk the legs off myself the next few days to see if I can encourage some movement.
Cervix at 1cm long indicates some thinning - so that must be a positive sign?

Oggy - any word?

oggybags · 31/03/2011 16:52

still here... just had some more reflexology so really hoping that might help... I have twinges, but nothing more exciting....
hope you get on well at hosp...

Ok girls, this is the last post from me before I go off and be induced.

I have to say I'm feeling very nervous and scared at the prospect. I hope to god everything goes ok and my little baby will be born safe and healthy.

I will check in on you all at some point real soon, as I don't know how long this whole induction process will take. My last induction took 36 hours..... I'm sure this won't go on and I will be home on Sunday.

Oggy and Yoga* I have my fingers crossed for you both and hopefully we will all have good news on our next post.

Having my last cup of raspberry leaf tea and I've passed on the vindaloo tonight, don't think it will be a good idea if I'm pushing tomorrow. I only want a baby to come out!!!!

Speak soon

Mads xx

YogaMummy2B · 01/04/2011 17:23

Hi Clark no news from me, despite some good walks.
Lilly - I Love the you tube video, it is excellent, I was having a little dance to myself yesterday but nothing a madly energetic as this!
On a more positive note, my Mum has decided to leave the waiting room and head off for a few days, to relax and enjoy herself. House all to ourselves again! Yippee!!

YogaMummy2B · 01/04/2011 17:30

Oh Oggy how exciting!! I was posting at same time as you! I think you'll know when they start to arrive in earnest.

YogaMummy2B · 03/04/2011 10:17

Clark you OK? I hope it all goes well for you. I'm off to the hospital myself this afternoon, hopefully just for observation.
Let us know when there is some news. x

YogaMummy2B · 03/04/2011 10:19

Perhaps you will be a Mummy on Mothers Day! I was really hoping that would happen for me but not too much in the form of movement today.

ThisIsYourSong · 03/04/2011 12:58

Hoping there is some progression for you ladies in waiting soon!

My DS made his entrance on Friday morning at around 2.40am, when I was 41+3. I lost my plug on Tuesday night & more on Wednesday, saw the midwife on Thursday morning and she gave me a sweep. Pains started that afternoon and I was 5cm at 8.30pm. Unfortunately I didn't get the vbac I wanted due to labour not progressing, problems with the baby's heartrate and meconium and blood in the waters but I'm feeling much much better than last time and everything is great so far.

I knew it was labour as the contractions were fairly regular, they did vary a bit but went to the hospital when they were around 4 minutes apart. It was the regularity that was different from the BH and the fact they were getting stronger and stronger.

In terms of stuff to try - I am not sure that it made any difference, more that he was just ready...

YogaMummy2B · 03/04/2011 13:09

Well, it looks like I'm going to be a guest of the hospital this evening! BP will not stabilise and I have ++++ protein in my urine! If bloods come back wonky then they will start to induce tonight! Very excited to see baby, disappointed that I'll not have the lovely natural birth I was after!
Congrats TIYS beautiful healthy babies are the name of the game!

oggybags · 03/04/2011 13:48

I'm nearly there... I was heading for the hospital a few hrs ago at every 4 mins however still at home as my body decided enough was enough and I'm back to every 10 mins it is unbelieveabky frustratng!! On phone pls excuse sp!! X

Hi ladies

I'm back. Went to bed Thursday night, the night before induction and was experiencing some contractions. Got up a few times to go to the loo and then my hind waters started leaking. Went to the hospital at 3am to find I was 1-2cm dilated. Result. Being as I was going in on that day, they decided to keep me. Got to 4cm at lunch time but couldn't progress past that so was put on the Syntocin drip. At 10pm that night, I was ready to push. So at 22.34pm, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Seren Sofia, weighing 8lbs 11oz. The weight was a shock, I thought it would have been less. Needed to have a couple of stitches though. Back home now and all is going well. Well, as good as can be expected. Breast feeding is an absolute killer, I must be doing it wrong plus Seren was up from 11pm last night to 6.30am this morning. How tired am I???? VERY.

Still excited for you girls and I'll be keeping an eye out for your news. The very best of luck and I'm sure it won't take too long now.

Mads

YogaMummy2B · 04/04/2011 00:45

Drip went up at 5pm at 3cm dilated and born 2 and a half hours later dr ready to get ventouse on as it all got a bit dramatic ( happened a bit fast for everyone) at final hurdle but I was having none of that!!! All out in 4 pushes. Well done everyone!!! Congrats on your new arrivals
