They are covered in blue veins and feel itchy inside.

I haven't been pregnant for donkey's years so have no idea if this is normal.

I have no idea when I am due on (period every 4-6 weeks, and it is so light normally it only last half a day, is blibnk and you will miss it) and had my last period in middle of December I think.

This will teach me for having the regular 'don't you bloody get pregnant' chat with dd yesterday during One Born Every Minute.

I know I should get a test but gawd knows if it is too early or not, plus it is pissing down and I can't be arsed to go to the shops.

Do you test after your first missed period then? Or your second? I genuinely cannot remember (am going to google it now).

You know I have always thought 'oh ffs go and take a test you moron' re the 'am I pregnant?' threads but now it is me I am too scared at the thought!

I've always taken tests a few days into my first missed period. They're usually pretty accurate by then - and then I take a few more, days later, just to be sure Blush.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 12/01/2011 09:57

Those First Response tests can detect pregnancy from 5 days before your period. Apparently.

Normal ones claim to be 99% or whatever accurate on the day it's due.

Just saying, like Grin

thereistheball · 12/01/2011 09:57

Get the test. Otherwise you will be frantically symptom-spotting and unable to think about anything else.

(I once spent a day convinced I was pg because of funny taste in my mouth, til I remembered I'd used a new mouthwash that morning Blush)

Galena · 12/01/2011 09:58

I reckon all the itchy boob brigade should do a mass wee-in and let us know tomorrow morning! You can't all leave us hanging! Grin

WanderingSheep · 12/01/2011 09:59

But of course it's up to you when you decide to test. The later you leave it the stronger the pregnancy hormone will be, so if it's positive then you might not have to deal with the "is it positive or isn't it" as the line will be darker!

nikki1978 · 12/01/2011 10:01

If I had my period on 15th Dec 2010 then my next would be due to start today (for a 28 day cycle). I would have been able to test from 7th Jan with the First Response one.

Go onnnn..... Grin

Valpollicella · 12/01/2011 10:01

after your first missed period. They are more accurate these days.

Although saying that I did 7 tests which all came up negative Hmm. Spent a bloody fortune! May be best to wait a week or so

piratecat · 12/01/2011 10:02

you can test the day your 1st period is due, but as you say you are not sure when your last one was.

Yet if it was mid december, day 1 of your period being around the 15th, you can conceive from day 11-17 can't you. A friend of mine conceived on day 9.

I would give it a week then test.

verytellytubby · 12/01/2011 10:03

Hope you get the result you want!

LilRedWG · 12/01/2011 10:03

Do a test - I need to know. :) You can test from the day you are due.

Milngavie · 12/01/2011 10:07

I was at my DS's school show last night. My boobs are so painful applauding each class was a nightmare!

I also have raging heartburn in the evenings and the weird dreams I have been having are something else.

I'm not completely shattered though but I wasn't with my 3rd and 4th pregnancies.

I feel a bit ick today but that could be overthinking things!

Probably all pre-menstrual though. Will test next week if period is a no show.

So there may be mass MN pregnancy going on? Squee! I was thinking last night that it would be a bit rubbish if some MNers left as their children were too old, just as I started sprogging. It would suck. But now, it may not happen. Woo hoo!

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/01/2011 10:09

Lol at you lot.

I might go down to Tesco and get a test then.

Will probably look at the price and think 'bollocks to that' and go and but a big bag of wine gums instead, mind Grin

Holy Christ, GetOrf, I didn't expect this to be you!!!!

You can test from your first missed period - I tested within the first week after my missed period with all 3 DDs - no false negatives (though did tend to use the more expensive tests - was not on MN then so didn't know about the cheapies from Amazon.eBay).

'Twould be really cool, y'know. I am a 30-something mother (or at least, was till I turned 40 at the end of last year). It's marvellous - you have the confidence to say things to HCPs/interfering busybodies that you might not have said first time round Grin

Milngavie · 12/01/2011 10:13

GetOrf get on down to Tesco and let us know how you get on Grin.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 12/01/2011 10:14

Oh they're far cheaper these days GetOrf Grin

Hullygully · 12/01/2011 10:15

How exciting (and terrifying!)

Get a test get a test get a test

Hullygully · 12/01/2011 10:15

How old are you?

AbsofCroissant · 12/01/2011 10:16
