jazz412 when did you first go to the docs? What do they say?!

laylasmummy09 · 13/01/2011 14:29

hi citymonkey congratulations Grin its not too early but they wont do much they will advise u on healthy eating and taking vitamins and general wellbeing, good luck x

citymonkey · 13/01/2011 14:42

Well the reason I wanted to have an appointment is because on Saturday my husband and I are off skiing for a week! Wanted to check it was ok still to ski... obviously nothing too crazy / off piste.

We are going with some very good friends of ours - one couple who are 5 months pregnant (no skiing for her) and one who have a 1 yr old (no skiing for her either, has injured knee). They are basically our best friends, I think they will be highly suspicious after spending a week where I am not drinking and generally being quite careful (we usually enjoy pretty extreme skiing together). We don't want to tell anyone at all until after first scan, when we will (v hopefully) know things are ok.

jimmijam · 13/01/2011 18:58

100years hope everythings ok with you and babs x

holycrapolla · 13/01/2011 19:05

just been checking out private scans in our area...i can have one from 7 weeks for £60 just to check dates - so tempted!! May be a waste of money though, surely they can't see too much at this stage??

Hope things went ok 100years, keep us posted x

jimmijam · 13/01/2011 19:13

i'll have 2 dig out pic, but from memory looks a bit like a bean-or a small white blob (terrible as that sounds)go on you tube or google it and u'll get an idea of what u'd see.
v.early scans r gr8 if u want comfort in seeing ur baby if ur worried tho.
i dont know when baby starts 2 look like baby on a scan, defo looks like baby at 3month scan!

100years · 13/01/2011 21:15

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for the delay, had to go back to work after the appointment. Then got home, fell asleep, had tea, puked a lot. Anyway....

Single intra-uterine pregnancy of about 6 weeks detected. Fetal heartbeat present :) All as it should be for this stage. :) Very pleased. Little lentil has a heart beat.

I'm very sick, have only kept a ham sandwich is me today. I'm off to bed in a minute once I've updated a few more people.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

holycrapolla · 13/01/2011 21:20

so pleased to hear that 100years, have been wondering all day if you were ok. must be a huge relief to have it confirmed and know that alls ticking along smoothly!

100years · 13/01/2011 21:22

Yeah it really is, and they were wonderful in there, and basically said how crap the doctor had been in the way he was!

yumstepmum · 13/01/2011 21:49

100years - that's great news. Best off luck for everything.

ok, geek alert... I've got three a pregnancy tracker on my phone and if I go from date of last period I'm still in week 5 but if I go from due date, I'm 2 days further along and just into week 6 now. (I'm trying to make time go faster, can you tell?)

Anyway, which is best to calculate your week from? I'm guessing due date because that takes into account length of cycle...?

Penel · 13/01/2011 22:28

100 years - best news ever. Have been so worried about you. You must be so relieved. Have a good sleep.

100years · 14/01/2011 06:28

Thanks everyone. :) Sorry to have worried everyone else. Was a little bit irrational about the whole thing until I saw the flicker on the screen.

VERY sick to the point where I'm thinking of actually taking the tablets the doc has given me. OMG It's horrendous. I have had nausea pretty much since I found out. It's reached higher levels now though! Bleurgh

Hope everyone else is doing OK. I've not checked back through the thread, just haven't had time.

I will try when I'm home later.

emoo777 · 14/01/2011 08:32

100years am so so so pleased for you! I had had a bad morning until I read this and its great to get some good news!

Found dd (10 months) lying face down in vomit this morning - the smell filled the whole house and had to sort it out before my breakfast. Not good for the morning sickness! Fortunately she is fine which is the main thing.

Sunnyandwild · 14/01/2011 19:33

hi 100 years great news from the scan, really glad everything is ok...
But poor you re sickness... I felt really sick at the beginning but am managing it by just eating little bits all the time and not letting myself get hungry... I've worked out that if I get hungry I start feeling really sick... maybe that helps??

jazz412 · 14/01/2011 20:17

so glad 100 years :)
good luck with everything else - I'm feeling sick too!! xx

backintraining · 14/01/2011 20:44

Hi again everyone, how are we all doing?

100 years that is amazing news, so pleased for you. I don't think you were being irrational either, you were being a mum-to-be!!

I have been backwards and forwards to Docs this week because of my stupid blood pressure! Our Doc has been in touch with the hospital and spoken to a Consultant there. The plan is for me to start on daily low-dose aspirin and have weekly BP checks. Once I have been booked in by our midwife on 3rd Feb I'll be transferred straight to hospital. Feel much better that someone is taking charge.

I'm also flying the flag for feeling sick. Thought my tea was gonna be seen again this evening!! Ropey as anything.

ssmile · 14/01/2011 21:30

All me emotions are have gone wobbly the last few days and by lunchtime my waist band is tight and boobs exploding out.... and only 5.5wks! Maybe its because its b2 but I dont remeber it making feel this 'big' this early last time or is it just because muscles are all stretched from DD who is 3.5?
My SIL has gone into labour today so I think thats why me emotions are all wobbly, hoping all goes well for her b2 as well.

On a postitive note I've started listening to VBAC natal hyponotherapy CD by Maggie Howell at bedtime. Its fab has sent me off to sleep every night so far!

jimmijam · 15/01/2011 00:45

JennyFurry · 15/01/2011 09:05

Hello!

Please can I join the September bus? Just had my first ever positive pregnancy test last night and it would seem I am due on 21/09/11.

I'm feeling a whirlwind of emotions but very excited and just keeping everything crossed that all remains good.

I'm 33 and married and been TTC for 8 months. Currently I'm one very happy JennyFurry!! :)

Hello to all other passengers x

jimmijam · 15/01/2011 10:28

Misty9 · 15/01/2011 10:33

jimmijam hope all is ok.

I've been lurking for a while and have joined the other Sept thread (a happy non-alcoholic new year is the title) but I'm due 9th Sept so am 6+1 today.
I've also had a bit of spotting, every other day since Tuesday...and had some pinkish watery blood when I wiped after the 4am wee this morning :(
Was on meds for UTI and they couldn't scan as too early, but hopefully will get a scan the week after next.

I never thought the first 12 weeks would be so worrying!
Hi to all the Sept mummies xx

jimmijam · 15/01/2011 11:04

Hi misty. With dc1 i had 2 take meds 4 uti several times. Other than that didnt have any other probs in that pregnancy and shes 4 and standing right infront of me. Just keep drinking plenty

recklesspixie · 15/01/2011 11:11

+Misty9* I'm with you on that, never thought the 12 weeks would go so slowly and I'd so worried about every little pain and twinge and I'm only 5wks (exactly today):-(

jimmijam fingers crossed for you

laylasmummy09 · 15/01/2011 11:12

hi misty 9 congratulations, im due on the 9th too, not had any symptoms and never been so worried, got a private scan 2 weeks today, hope everything goes well for you, jimmijam good luck fingers crossed for you too xxx

lxr1 · 15/01/2011 11:41

Hi there,

I'm like Misty9, I joined the other sept thread (this mornining), but have been lurking on this one too.

I had my BFP last Sat, and it looks like I should be due around 14th Sept (give or take!), so am just over 5wks.

This will be our first, so going through all the emotions at the moment!

Apart from tender boobs, a little nausea at times, and over the past couple of days some mild stomach cramps, I don't have much in the way of symptoms.

GP didn't want to see me, and MW doesn't want to see me until week 8/9, which feels like forever away at the moment!

Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all!
