Hello ladies. Please can I join?

I took a test on New Years Eve as we'd ( only just) started trying and I felt 'funny' so wanted to see if it would be ok to get legless at the NYE party. Needless to say it was a dry night.

Been to docs who says I'm due 6 Sep. Yippee. It'll be my second and I have a fab DS who is 4 in a couple of weeks.

Feeling really nauseous all the time and addicted to lucozade which probably explains why I can't sleep. Also I swear my belly is bigger - could this just be bloating? DH thinks it's hilarious watching me wander round the house in the evening with my trousers hanging round my backside as I have to u do my buttons.

ssmile · 16/01/2011 20:57

Hi Ben10smum,
My DD will also be 4 in couple of months and I wondered if having another is the reason I feel so bloated and big in the evening at 5.5wks! I too have to undo the trousers. I even had to take my tights off at work the other lunch time as they were too tight! I did have a long skirt on - elasticated waist oh gosh already - so my stubbley knees were not visiable :o

Cheese seems to be my thing (the hard stuff) keep craving it... hardly ate it before preg.

Hello new ladies, someone else with the same EDD as me :) 6th Sept.

Jimmijam, how are you, will be thinking of you tomorrow, hope you get a good result there and all is well with the bean.

jimmijam · 16/01/2011 21:28

thanku 100years!
how r things with u now? have they given u any advice or going 2 book u in 4 any extra scans or anything?
apt at 10.25am 2moro
other than a small streak in some discharge yesterday morning, havent had any moe spotting, but have been having tummy and back pains.
trying 2 stay positive, not sure if pregnancy, nerves or both, but been feeling pretty sick
thanks again

100years · 16/01/2011 21:49

Nope, no more scans, they discharged me as they were happy with the scan showing a heartbeat, however if I have anything else like it I can self refer there. Just the wait till 12 weeks now. Midwife coming over on Tuesday. I'm proper sick, but other than that I think everything is as it should be.

fabcurls · 16/01/2011 21:59

Hi Ladies

Many congrats to you all! Can I hop on your bus too?!

I'm 30 and tested positive last Sunday.

Logically all signs are pointing to being pregnant - 4 positive tests in 24 hours, sore boobs, tiredness and the absolute delight of the lack of bowel movement on the normal regular basis (yeuch I know). I do appear to be in slight denial though Confused

Husband is absolutely delighted but I just don't seem to be on the same page at the mo as kind of freaking out! I've not managed to read through all the posts so not sure if any of you are the same???

Due date is somewhere between 6th and 9th Sept.........never quite been on a regular cycle since coming off the pill about 12 months ago.

Seeing midwife on 8th Feb.

backintraining · 17/01/2011 10:23

Morning ladies, hope you're all well.

jimmijam hope your appointment goes well today.

I am starting my low-dose aspirin today and have a BP check this afternoon - the aim of today is to relax relax relax... with a 2 year old DS, oh yeah!!

Feel dreadfully sick and knackered... in fact, it feels like a dull, constant hangover but without the mad night out before!!

jimmijam · 17/01/2011 13:31

Yay, scan went well. Am 6wks 5days, baby has heartbeat and is 7mm long, sac 19.4mm! V.happy nw :-)

laylasmummy09 · 17/01/2011 13:36

yay jimmijam Grin thats fantastic news xxx

100years · 17/01/2011 14:38

Excellent news jimmijam :) really pleased for you

jimmijam · 17/01/2011 14:39

Any1 had 1st midwife apt yet? Gota wait 2 hear from myn 2 get 1 cuz the surgery cant book 1hour slots?! which the midwife told me 2 book.

ssmile · 17/01/2011 15:35

Thats fab jimmijam glad its ok.

Is anyone else on here hoping to have a VBAC? I had C-sec with DD1 am keen not to have the same experience. Taken me along time to get preg I think because of the negative emotions I had around the first experience. Started listening to natal hypno cd which is very relaxing so hope it helps.

Also what the advice on hair dying? Are you still ok to use the £5 ones from boots or do I have to go grey Hmm for 9mths??

ssmile · 17/01/2011 15:38

Oh and realised i had miscounted i am at end of 6wks now not 5wks and not been yuck yet..... with dd1 was sick 6-16wks not looking forward to it again keeping fingers crossed.... does this mean its a boy??

For some irrational thinking thought that more hormones meant more yuck meant girl?? is this completely loopy thinking Grin

laylasmummy09 · 17/01/2011 15:44

i think that makes sense i was really sick with dd all the way through but at 6+3 ive got nothing but a few headaches Smile and id love to have a boy x

2BlackCats · 17/01/2011 17:00

Thrilled to be joining the bus BFP 13 Jan and yes I have POAS every day since just to make sure :) Due date 23 Sept but was 8 days late last time...

DD 2.6 and she will also be thrilled when she finds out (don't dare say anything yet as she will tell everyone - found this out at xmas with DH presents!)

Only 4 +2 so not feeling too bad yet, the obligatory growing bust and vague nausea but otherwise fine at the moment.

I wasn't planning on speaking to the Drs for another couple of weeks as I presume that they won't be interested yet, although I do remember struggling to ever get a mw appt last time.

ssmile · 17/01/2011 17:13

Yes I had few horrid headaches and never normally get them. Had one all afternoon today and a cling on 3yr who I think has a bug again..... We went swiming again at the weekend, everytime we go swiming we get another bug Confused
So its been a cutting up magazines making sticky pictures, teddy tea parties and cebeebies kinda of day ;)

laylasmummy09 · 17/01/2011 17:58

they are good days my dd loves them but of course better with no bugs, my headaches seem to come around half 4 each afternoon and feel like my ears need to pop, at that point im not much use to anyone, hope everyones had a good day, one more marked off the calander x

PrincessScrumpy · 17/01/2011 19:07

Got a BPF on Thursday and am due 20 September. This will be my second - dd is 3 next month and will be very excited but cannot tell her as, like 2blackcats, she told dh all his Christmas presents so cannot be trusted! Grin

Feeling wiped out but that might be the flu I had last week!

JennyFurry · 17/01/2011 19:08

Brilliant news jimmijam. You can rest easier tonight.

I've been told I dont need to see the GP but to make an appointment to see the MW but no one seems to answer the phone! What to do?!

Also wondering what do to about telling my boss at work. 2011 annual leave and bank holiday working now being sorted so feeling a bit awkward. Don't really want anyone to know until had a scan but with EDD in Sept need to somehow avoid being on the rota for both Xmas and New Year. How are other people dealing with telling work?

Penel · 17/01/2011 20:15

I had to tell my boss and team a week ago as I was supposed to be doing a work trip to a few African countries and didn't want to take the risk of taking malaria tablets and having jabs. I think it is actually fine to have both, but we lost our baby at 14 weeks last time so didn't want to take any risks, so had to explain why I wasn't going on trips. I am not going public at work yet, but am really glad I did tell my boss and immediate team as I am feeling really sick in afternoons now (so much for MORNING sickness!) and it helps that they understand why and don't think I am a total lightweight. Commute on packed trains and tubes is a killer, but just got a Transport for London Baby on Board badge and am contemplating wearing it. Will feel weird going so public as to wear a badge letting people know I am up the duff, but at least I may get a seat and not spend whole journey worrying I am going to faint!!! We are having scan next Friday when I will be 8 weeks +2. Still seems a long time away.

Froggy81 · 17/01/2011 21:07

Hi everyone!

Am having an early scan tomorrow.

Has anyone else announced their pregnancy?

Misty9 · 17/01/2011 21:07

Hi there
Had more bleeding this past week (still just spotting) and GP referred me to EPAU this morning. Going for emergency assessment tomorrow as had bad cramping pain all day today. Will have scan if doc is worried, otherwise have one booked for Thurs morn.

I just want to know either way now :(

Ben10sMum · 17/01/2011 21:49

Hi Misty9
Hope everything is ok tomorrow.
X

fabcurls · 17/01/2011 22:16

Hi Ladies
jimmijam glad to hear you got on fine
today :)
Misty9 hope all goes ok tomorrow :)

Still weighing up who to tell when!
Its just me and DH at the mo. Prob leave telling the family until 1st scan is booked (for prents) or done (in-laws).
Will need to see how it goes with my work - my boss does have one of those "I'm delighted" faces which he brings out for such occasions!

jimmijam · 18/01/2011 00:38

Hi misty. Dr 2day said they wouldnt worry about some spotting. wen ur pregnant The blood thats usually in the middle of ur cervix comes 2 the edge, small things can agitate it, like sex and cause the cervix 2 bleed-nothing 2 do with baby. Every1 was really nice at epac. Best wishes!
