Hi everyone, can I join the bus!? Thrilled to find out this afternoon that I'm pregnant (for the 1st time)! Due 16th Sept. Husband's away till tomorrow evening so I'm very pleased to be sharing the news with someone as I have decided to hang on till I can tell him in person. No symptoms yet other than feeling a bit 'funny'. All the best for the rest of you at slightly later stages

laylasmummy09 · 09/01/2011 18:18

congratulations i would be bursting to tell him if i were you, i couldnt wait to tell my oh ind blurted it out as soon as he walked through the door, good luckGrin xxx

Blush
going 2 have 2 wear big baggy jumpers around my mum 4 a week til i tell her after our 1st scan.
even someone at work noticed 2day starting the rumour mill going til someone finaly asked me-and i couldnt deny.-i thought everyone would just think i'd put on some christmas weight!
think i may have a slight waddle 2, gosh feel like im 6months gone not 1!!! Blush
have heard u get bigger earlier with ur 3rd, tho i dont know if this is true it seems 2 b the case here!

and halfway through devouring a tub of ben and jerrys phish food i read on the label that its made from unpasturised eggs :-( my husband got 2 finish the tub

jimmijam · 09/01/2011 18:31

also, reading the label on morrisons (parmesan) italian grated cheese tub 2 c if its vegetarian and found even that is made from unpasturised cheese!
does any1 know if its ok 2 have ffods containing dried egg white/yolk?

ssmile · 09/01/2011 19:24

Gosh I been eating icecream tonight I hope its ok I didnt check the label! I will do now. Going to miss my runny fried eggs as well now, no dip dip for me for a while. Funny the things you miss, wine I wasn't bothered, soft cheese I didn't fancy, never smoked so its not a problem but I do miss my runny fried eggs at the weekend.....don't take my icecream away as well Shock

Daisybell1 · 09/01/2011 19:32

Hi there

Can someone help me?

I found out 4 days ago that I was PG, but AF isn't due until tomorrow (so, its very very early on).

For the last couple of days I've been having niggly period-type pains, nothing severe, but just intermittent mild cramping.

I've now managed to convince myself that I'm losing it before its even started Sad. Is it normal to have mild cramps at this stage, or is it going wrong?

I know that worrying doesn't help, but I'd just like to prepare myself for the worst if its going to happen....

xxx

jimmijam · 09/01/2011 19:34

miss feta and goats cheese, soft poached eggs, altho i did a 'hard' poached wgg teh otehr day which was scrummy, and now ban and jeyys, i doubt its all ice creams tho iv not checkd labels 4 it b4. ate phish fod all thru (not tonnes but every so often) my 1st and 2nd pregnancies-tehy both turned out fine, bt now i know...
mmm dippy egg...

recklesspixie · 09/01/2011 19:52

daisybell I think I'm at the same stage as you (ovulated 25/12)and I have cramps too and pain in my sides and back, have been told that this is normal, the uterus is getting bigger to make space for the baby :)

jimmijam and ssmile someone on another thread said runny eggs were ok cos chickens in Uk and Ireland are vaccinated against salmonella so there's no risk of you getting ill.....

ssmile · 09/01/2011 20:04

recklesspixie - maybe the advice has changed? in my 1st preg the midwife made a point of saying no runny eggs. she had even tried to find some for her sister that were salmonella free but couldnt. this was 4yrs ago though. I will ask MW when I get to see one, I hoping its the same one as we got on really well.

Daisybell1 · 09/01/2011 20:12

Thank you Pixie, yes I have a christmas day bean too Grin. Thank you for you reassuring comments.

I'm probably going to vanish off the bus for a little bit, want to make sure this one's for keeps before I get carried away. But I shall lurk with interest! Wink

Penel · 09/01/2011 21:10

Laylasmummy09, it's good that you don't feel sick and think every single one of us will have a different experience so try not to worry. My sickness comes and goes, so not having it all the time yet fortunately. Do feel tired though so off to bed now. How rubbish is that!

jimmijam · 10/01/2011 04:42

Daisybell, im 5.5wks and have 'period pains' since just b4 i found out. Theres a thread on it,u should take a look

yumstepmum · 10/01/2011 09:13

Got first dr appointment this morning, feel like I've got thousands of questions! Anyone else had their first appt yet?

Milliebow · 10/01/2011 11:03

Hello. Can I get on the baby bus? Just a little over 4 weeks so still very early and still in shock to be honest! Been lurking on the conception board since I had my coil out and we started TTC end of Novemeber. Neither of us thought that it would happen so quickly though! Seems strange even telling you guys via a post.

This will be our first pregnancy. :)

100years · 10/01/2011 12:49

Hi everyone.

Thanks jimmijam, it's no worse and I think it's possibly not even enough to properly think about, but I was, and still am!

I'm seeing the Dr this afternoon about the nausea (after work req'd I go) and will mention the spotting there. He/she will prob say nothing to worry about. I'm not sure if they will give me anything for the nausea yet as I'm keeping most food down even if I feel really really sick. Had 2 days off work with it so far :(

I'm finding the nausea and vomiting to be getting worse now, yak, I'm a bit susceptible to smells as well and the sight of my OH eating cottage cheese off a spoon, bleurgh. I think the Envy face should actually be a sick emoticon as opposed to and envious one, as I think green is a sick colour!

5wks 6 days today, 12 weeks seems a LONG way off! Time is going by slowly.

recklesspixie · 10/01/2011 17:43

Daisybell had my first appointment with the doctor today and she said for the first 6 weeks you can have period-like cramping and pains in back and sides...

ssmile asked about runny eggs too and she said she said as long as the egg white is cooked it's fine, so no raw eggs in chocolate mousse etc. She has two healthy kids of her own and ate runny eggs, goats cheese, pate and had the odd glass of wine during her pregnancies!

100years sorry you feel so sick, hope all goes well with the doctor today....

was great to do the pregnancy test with dr present, finally it's feeling real!!

lollyheart · 10/01/2011 19:54

Hello can I hop on please.

This will be dc 4 I have dd age 6, ds1 age 4 and ds2 age 2. This one is due 20th sept. Mine and ds2 birthday is on the 4th of sept so looks like a busy month for us Smile

I'm trying not to get to excited just yet as I've had 3 mc before.

I had the flu Jab today, I called my gp to ask for some advice and I had the jab an hour later Shock I'm worried now that I should of waited to have it, but I quess it's to late now.

I've also been getting backache and cramps on and off, I felt abit sick tonight and sometimes my boobs are sore sometimes not, oh and I'm so bloody tired today Grin

jimmijam · 10/01/2011 20:29

are we supposed 2 ask 2 get flu jab?
iand also, does anyone know if all under 5's are entitled 2 it? my 2 havent been called up, my husband has asthma and had a letter a few months back, i assumed everyone who was elegible would recieve a letter?

wow lollyheart, your brave! i thought i was crazy wanting 3 young uns!
can u remember if u showed sooner with ds2?

Penel · 10/01/2011 20:34

Does anyone know where you can get a "Baby on Board" badge? I commute to London every day and am finding commute more of a struggle than it used to be. I've asked at train station and looked in quite a few newsagents, but not had any luck. I've noticed quite a few pregnant women wear the badges and they seem to work. I certainly give up my seat anyway!

lollyheart · 10/01/2011 20:36

If you want the jab I would give your gp a ring as I know they are getting low on stock so are not sending out letters.
, there is a thread on here about it.

I don't think I did show early, maybe it's because you are bloated? I feel bloated at the mo and have a swallon stomach.

lollyheart · 10/01/2011 20:38

Ice never seen a baby on board badge, have you tried eBay?

backintraining · 10/01/2011 22:46

Hi all, glad to hear that we are squishing up nicely on the bus!!

I feel really nauseous and knackered - part of the deal though so I don't mind so much.

I have booked in for my midwife appt on 3rd Feb (they don't see you until you are 8wks ish in our surgery). However, I am in with the Docs tomorrow. Am having the swine flu jab and also a chat with him to see if I need to go on low-dose aspirin. I had DS at 33wks due to pre-eclampsia (don't mean to scare any first-timers here, all is well and DS is now nearly 2 and brilliant) but there is research to say it helps reduce the risk in subsequent pregnancies if you've had it before so I'm going to discuss it with him - he is the head of the practise though and as tight as a duck's arse so I may have a battle on my hands.... seriously you could walk into the surgery with one of your legs dropping off and he would talk his way out of spending money on some stitches!!

waybuloony · 11/01/2011 16:10

Penel - I had a 'baby on board' badge when pregnant with ds and I just called TFl customer services 0845 330 9880 and they posted them to me. Although you can also email [email protected].

Good luck with the commuting, it's somehow worse at this early stage when it's not obvious you're pregnant and yet you're fighting the morning sickness!

jimmijam · 11/01/2011 18:18

lollyheart, at 1st it was def. bloating, but ive been taking pics, looking at them last night theres definately a change-the lower part of my tummy is more 'pointy'-im sure that sounds crazy but i dont know how else 2 describe it.the top part of my tummy matching it is just fat/water or whatever it is tho!!

i didnt know u could get a baby on board badge 4 ppl, it must b quite big? hope u manage 2 get 1 soon

muzzy2011 · 11/01/2011 18:37

Unfortunately I have to get off the bus, seems was not meant to be for me this time :( Good luck to you all, hope you all have happy and healthy pregnancies x
