ssmile · 10/04/2011 20:49

My DD was 9lb 1oz didnt make it out the normal way came out sunroof so not sure your dizzy friend is quite right :o Hoping i get to go straight for planned c sec this time as my waist already out 7inches phew at 19wks half way... oh er.

ssmile · 10/04/2011 20:53

Ive just ordered smaller size jeans from jojomambe so will let you know if they fit! Sent back the 16s they too big so hoping the 14s be better. I also got some mega comfortable yoga style pants from Dorthery perkins but cut 6 inches!!! off the bottoms to get them to fit, ok Im 5ft 3 but even so that was crazy. Good job Im handy with sewing machine. But after the sunshine this weekend I could do with some maternity shorts. May pop into the sewing shop see if I can buy some of that stretchy band stuff and adapt some myself mainly for hanging out at home not to inflect my legs on the general public.

CBear6 · 10/04/2011 22:51

ssmile, DS was also an awkward little bugger. He was face up and coming down forehead first, the consultant was called in and spent ages trying to convince me to allow a ventouse delivery. He may as well have talked to the wall because I was making no sense at that point. When they asked to put a clip on his head to monitor his heart-rate I thought they meant a hairclip and I told them "no, I'm having a boy, boys don't wear bobbles and clips". Bless her, she means well.

I wish I was handy, my jeans are all going to the tailor this week including the pair that seem to have a massively sized flare on the hem despite being straight cut. Next do some nice maternity clothes, a little bit pricey for some of them but they last ages and wash nicely. I just dug some of my pants from last time out of the wardrobe and they still look new, I have a pair of white linen maternity trousers from there and they're so comfortable.

CBear6 · 10/04/2011 22:55

When do you find out if you can have the planned cs?

Dualta · 11/04/2011 08:12

Hi everyone hope all are well! Thanks reckless I think I'm on the way out just retching first thing now...huzzah!
Re: maternity clothes if you are into the whole Ebay thing there are people selling bundles for very low prices lots of good brands as well, going to try that out as a few of my jeans are already too tight....
Babe is due 22 Sept and the next big event will be our scan. Fiance wants a boy (typical bloke!) I'm saying I want a girl now to counter that! Maybe the sickness points to a girl....hmmm

CBear6 · 11/04/2011 09:55

My DH is the same Dualta. Wanted a girl last time and took the huff when it was a boy, this time he wants another boy! I've told him he'll get what he's given and be happy with it!

Been signed off work for another four week with stress (long story) and starting to feel pressured to go back. The stress is being caused by several things, some of the pregnancy-related so the doctor has written on "currently 18 weeks pregnant". Work now want me to go in for a visit on Monday to discuss what they can do for me, etc. but there isn't really anything and to make it worse I get all flustered discussing it so I stumble over my words and get muddled up and have to correct myself so I'm sure they think I'm just making it up. I'm absolutely dreading it! Once this runs out I've got four weeks left then start my holidays followed by my maternity leave. I think my GP thought work would be one less thing to worry about if he signed me off (been off since around 8/9 weeks) and it has been a load off, taking his advice about getting myself out and about too which I think makes them think I'm making it up too when I mention I went to playgroup with DS or shopping with my mum. I just wish work wouldn't keep ringing and asking about it because I never know what to say. Gah. Monday blues.

When is your scan? Got mine on the 28th.

ssmile · 11/04/2011 19:59

Arh Cbear6 can you take someone with you to your work appt or write down some of the things you want to say? Hope the time off helps. I remeber post baby I went back to work then few weeks later I hurt my back badly and the Dr signed me off. But part of my treatment was to start walking but ironically I couldnt sit down it too painful only lie down or walk/stand. My boss didnt believe me after a few weeks, so in the end I had to say if I was faking it would I be spending several hundreds of pounds seeing a private Chiropracter! He backed off after that. Hope they are understanding.

My scan is this wednesday oh err. Been thinking loads about whether its boy or girl haven't got a clue. Kinda of hoping for girl as we have all girls stuff and I feel reasonably confident about looking after a girl as DD is 4 but on the other hand when they both reach 12+ think I would prefer a boy less horomones in the house! Think my DH would secretly like a boy so he can play cricket instead of dollys hair dressing game etc.. :o

CBear6 · 11/04/2011 20:10

Wednesday! Not long to wait at all, two more sleeps :)

I'm thinking I'm having a boy, a hairy boy too with all this heartburn (I'm a shameless addict of old wives tales). I'm like you, I know what I'm doing with looking after a boy but then I think of 12 years time when they're fighting each other.

I hope you get a little wiggley one on the scan so that they can get a good look at his/her bits.

ssmile · 13/04/2011 21:04

20wk Scan went well had few problems finding all heart tubes but two scans in an hr they eventually got it. Also booked C-sec 26aug. Bit weird to be given a date especially after waiting with my DD who was 15d over but gd from planning point of view.
Good luck to all with scans coming soon. Do I have to jump to Aug bus now!

ssmile · 13/04/2011 21:06

My DD told me "told you so mummy" when I said she hopefully getting a sister :o

CBear6 · 13/04/2011 21:21

Oh a little girl, that's wonderful ssmile! so glad your scan went well :)

recklesspixie · 13/04/2011 21:28

That's great news for you ssmile I'm already getting nervous about my next scan and it isn't for 5 weeks!!

Dualta · 13/04/2011 21:50

smile congrats thats lovely! delighted for you. cbear sounds tough about work and super stressful are HR able to sit in with you? they should be supporting you.
My scan is on 11th May. CANT WAIT!

ssmile · 14/04/2011 20:41

Thanks for kind messages. Gosh some of you really have to wait dont you? Mind you I was EDD 12th Sept then it was bought forward to the 3rd Sept then I got early scan at 19+4d and even some of those measurements were reading 20+4 on the screen. So baby growing well I think! And now because of C-sec been bough even further forward so nearly a month from when I thought we might actualy have it when I realised I was preg! Oh I havent checked out star signs yet must go take a peak :)

Good luck for those still waiting.

I did think I was passed the sickness but alas this morning trying to rush out the door for work and preschool drop off enroute suddenly find myself retching over the sink and then trying to stuff a biscuit in to stop it. Ugh not helpful that I had actually put mascarra on for big meeting at work and this little session resulted in it running down my face as tears sprung up in the lovely sink episode whilst my DD was going COME on mum we will be late! Guess baby was just reminding me it was still there and should have been taking it slower.

recklesspixie · 19/04/2011 10:57

I think I felt a kick this morning :-) !!

CBear6 · 19/04/2011 13:47

Yay Reckless! First time DS kicked me I cried, still waiting for a complete hoof from this one but got lots of wiggles.

When's your scan?

nunnie · 19/04/2011 13:51

Am I on this bus? I think I might be and have fallen asleep somewhere on it.
Due number 3 23rd of September, nothing much to report on my part, no fetal movements yet, no odd cravings, no pregnancy related symptoms anymore.

CBear6 · 19/04/2011 15:19

I think you are on the bus somewhere nunnie.

In a lot of ways these middle weeks are a bit rubbish, the horrible symptoms like sickness and tiredness have stopped but all the good stuff hasn't really got going yet. I'm passing the time by arguing over names with DH :)

nunnie · 19/04/2011 15:21

Oh good I don't like being lost.
We haven't even mentioned names this time, it took us months to think of a name for DS. Think this one will be named as it escapes.

CBear6 · 19/04/2011 15:26

All of his suggestions have been scrapped so far. I've got three immature brothers so I tell them the name ideas and if they can make fun of it then I know kids in the yard at school can so it goes in the "no" pile

recklesspixie · 20/04/2011 22:51

No more kicks since just a few fluttery feelings. Scan 17th May, can't wait :-) have an awful cold today just sipping manuka honey and lemon and hoping it makes a difference.
Welcome back nunnie !

CBear6 · 21/04/2011 09:33

I've got my glow! Or at least the people who've told me I'm glowing think so anyway, I think they're just seeing the copious amounts of concealer I'm using to hide the bags under my eyes (DS + light mornings = me being up at 5am most days).

Those kicks will come Reckless :) I was getting lots of flutters, then nothing for a while, then a few days ago more flutters, then nothing, yesterday I had my first proper kick but nothing since. DH can't feel it yet though. With DS when I got really big I used to balance things on my tummy and watch him kick them off lol. Poor you with your cold though, rubbish at the best of time but even worse when you can't take much for it.

My scan is a week today, I'm so excited! Are you finding out what's in there?

recklesspixie · 21/04/2011 17:09

feeling bit better today, manuka honey really works!! Definately going to find out what we're having, really feel it's a girl now cos my bump is big for a 1st pregnancy (I think- in my limited experience!) but don't mind which it is :-) Did work ring you yet? Do you have to go back before maternity leave starts?

CBear6 · 21/04/2011 21:22

Work rang me and I went in for the visit. My current manager was grand but my old manager, who was supposed to be there to do my end of year review, didn't come and the deadline is next week. Grrr! I'm going to ring her and Tuesday and insist she comes to me instead. Sorted all my leave, etc out. My fit note expires 9th May, my annual leave starts 30th May, and my maternity leave starts 27th June. Debating now whether to arrange something from 9th May to 30th because it'll take five weeks to train me in the new job so I won't actually be able to do anything in those few weeks. Went much better than I though it would though so hooray for that at least :)

I'm convinced I'm having a boy but then I was reading the thread on nub theory and my 12 week scan sort of looks like a girl nub in one picture and a boy nub in the other. I really don't mind either, so long as it's healthy and happy and doesn't have a huge head like DS did!

So glad you're feeling better, it's going to be lovely this weekend so at least you won't be spending it snotty and sniffling :)
