Hi everyone. Not posted for a while. Had my first scan today. Everything looking good. Made it all feel real. Relieved as well there is only one baby as this is number four for us. Always planned four but not sure about five. Due date changed from 8th Set to 5th so now just over 13 weeks and starting to feel like i have a bit more energy although having to buy maternity trousers already.

newmumtb · 03/03/2011 16:29

Hi everyone, I thought i'd come back and say hi, had my first scan this week when I was 12+6, the letter now says that i am 13+3 but they haven't changed my due date ( 6th sep). Anyone else had this issue? I was so stressed out before hand that the scan went in a haze, the baby was asleep and would not move, the MF was prodding for ages and in the end I had to caugh to make it move to get measured, so funny. I wish i'd seen it move around but I guess it likes its sleep. Will everyone try and find out the sex or are some waiting for a surprise ?

JennyFurry · 03/03/2011 18:01

Just wanted to wish everyone happy and healthy pregnancies. I'm off the bus. Missed miscarriage picked up at dating scan yesterday. Surgery to resolve it tomorrow. Absolutely devastated.

CBear6 · 03/03/2011 18:20

So sorry to hear that Jenny, I had a mmc in June last year at 14 weeks and I know how gut-wrenching it is. Take care of yourself x

Got my dating scan tomorrow morning and very nervous of the same thing after that mmc in June.

MrsSawyer · 03/03/2011 18:25

Oh jenny, theres nothing anyone can say to make it better. Please take care of yourself x

MrsSawyer · 03/03/2011 18:26

good luck cbear6 for tomorrow. Let us know how you get on love x

recklesspixie · 03/03/2011 20:21

JennyFurry so sad for you Sad. Hope you have people to look after you for the next few weeks. Hope to see you on another bus soon.Take care xx

Brasso4 · 04/03/2011 11:42

So sorry Jenny. I am in a similar position at the mo - think my dating scan might show the same. It is horrible. Big hugs xxx

CBear6 · 04/03/2011 14:29

Had my scan today, was in pieces beforehand because I was so nervous it would be a repeat of last years mmc. Just as they called my name DS went flying head over heels, face first into the floor and popped his lip, so they sent us down to minor injuries instead to get him checked. He was fine but it delayed the scan by an hour.

When we finally got there I was busting for the loo so of course baby wa fast asleep and midwife wanted me to cough to wake him up, I had to clench muscles I didn't even know I had! The cough didn't wake him so she wanted a more forceful one. After I'd coughed up half a lung he was still sleeping so she got me to jump. That got him going although I'm certain he went back to sleep just as she was finishing up.

Everything is looking good, due 11th September so I'm 12+5 which is further than I thought - had a scan three weeks ago and was 8+1 so was expecting to be 11+1 today.

Find out whether Peanut is a he-nut or a she-nut at the end of April :)

Best of luck to anyone who still has to have theirs!

exciteddotcom · 08/03/2011 19:37

Hi Gang,

Had our scan last wednesday and was in tears at the sight of our baby with hiccups bouncing around inside me! It just such a relief to know things are ok.

Now due September 7th, so 14 weeks tomorrow. I can't wait to feel it move, I keep thinking I can feel flutters, but I guess it's way too early with my first?

Best of luck everyone, and to those who are getting off the bus, I really hope we see you on a bus again with happier experiences to report.

xxx

recklesspixie · 08/03/2011 20:42

exciteddotcom congrats to you too! it's a great feeling to see the baby moving around Grin
The dr today said that i should feel movement in about 10 weeks time so at around 22 weeks, have read on MN that some people have felt it way earlier than that, think it depends on the person. My friend could feel movement at 20 weeks if she lay very still on the bed for about 20 mins!

CBear6 · 08/03/2011 21:29

First pregnancies it takes a while to feel the movements. The first ones feel like little bubbles popping in your tummy and like little feet stepping on your bits but from the inside - that used to make me flinch a bit, it was like the baby was knocking on my cervix.

I'm technically on my fourth and they said I can expect to start feeling it some time from 14-16 weeks. The drawback though is that your tummy muscles realise you're pregnant and they think "I've done this before!" and pop out faster, I'm 13 weeks and starting to show already.

WaspsAnkles · 11/03/2011 15:13

Hi everybody

This is my first post to MN and looks like I'm quite late to the game.

I'm 29 and first time pg due 7th Sept. Married to wonderful DH who is coping extremely well with a weepy, moody me.

Unfortunately, I've been quite poorly with morning sickness in the last few weeks and getting quite fed up with constantly feeling unwell despite being in week 14 already. I've lost almost 12pounds but doc doesn't seem too worried by that. Bean seemed well in first scan and made DH very emotional.

I'm now just hoping and praying for the sickness to end and actually being able to enjoy the experience.

SkiBumMum · 11/03/2011 16:45

My scan went well today. Baby was very wiggly, but she got all her measurements done. Student MW was awful at bloods so I had to go to a different dept. I nearl threw up on her - it was MS not the blood test experience but she looked so worried poor thing. EDD moved from 22nd to 18th Sept.

Was not impressed by the state of Luton hospital. I hope the care is better than the decor!

Hope everyone ok
x

CBear6 · 11/03/2011 18:11

Welcome to the bus WaspsAnkles, hope your journey is a pleasant one and your sickness passes soon.

All the EDDs are coming in now then, no one has been bumped to August or October so far :)

I gave in to my paranoia and bought a second hand doppler off eBay. Had a good listen when it arrived on Wednesday and heard only gurgling from my tummy although DS had fun with it when I showed him how to listen to my heart and his own heart. Was playing with it this morning though and heard, very faintly, a little whoosh-whoosh-whoosh fetal heartbeat! My lil Peanut is ticking away in there, my paranoia is satisfied
:)

Also my SIL and DB are expecting their baby any time now, SIL is in slow labour but progressing so I'll be an aunt any time!

jimmijam · 11/03/2011 19:45

any news on brasso4 ?
cbear6 i love that idea! looked at similar thing in argos catalogue when pregnant with ds and dd, but decided if we ever couldnt find the heartbeat (not being trained, baby moving about etc) it would become really worrying wheninfact everything could b a ok! but....this time, and esp now you've said it i am tempted, could even b fun way 4 kids 2 bond with baby-trying 2 find heartbeat! can i ask how much you paid?

it feels so strange, several people we know have recently given birth, now we know 4 people due within a month or so of us!
