Hello,

Can I join? I am 8weeks+2, I already had my 1st midwife appointment, blood test, and I just have to wait for the end of this week to book the scan.

It is my first pregnancy, feeling sick tired, byt loving it :D

100years · 22/02/2011 22:47

Hiya ladies,

Sorry I have been really quiet in here. I have been really bad with sickness, lost 22 lbs with it, had a few weeks off work, but thankfully it seemed to ease last week, and I haven't been sick since last Tuesday. I've also been really anxious about the pregnancy, and was really worried until I had my scan.

It was earlier today, I thought I was 12 wks, I'm actually 12wks and 5 days, my EDD is now the 1st Sept!!! Shock Baby is a real wriggler, wouldn't stay still for the scan!! :)

Anyway, if anyone is being ill, it does get easier.

I'll be about a bit more now.

waybuloony · 24/02/2011 13:28

Pleased to hear you're feeling better 100years - it sounds like you've had a horrid time of it but at least you know baby is doing well which makes it all seem worthwhile.

I had my scan yesterday and all looking good (we breathed a massive sigh of relief). Baby behaved itself for the sonographer - so much so that she reckoned she could see what sex it was at this early stage! EDD is now 31st Aug (though I'm still adamant it will be a September baby according to my worked out dates) so I'm going to hang around on this thread if that's ok.

We told the folks last night and everyone's thrilled. It's so nice to get it out in the open!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Rupsje · 24/02/2011 14:47

Congratulations on your successful scan waybuloony! It must have been so exciting to see the baby move about. My scan is now exactly a week away, and I can't wait but am also a bit scared. I can't quite believe there is actually a baby in there.

Is anyone showing yet at this stage? I am 11+2 and have gained a bit of weight but still fit into normal clothes, just about. I would quite like to keep it a secret from work/friends until 13+4, when we will see my parents - I want them to be the first to know! Any chance of getting away with that, and no one noticing? I hope so!

MrsBakerNeeld · 24/02/2011 17:34

Hi, Congrats to everyone. I'm 24, engaged and expecting my first on September 27th. Can I join?
x

waybuloony · 24/02/2011 19:27

Rupsje I reckon you'll get away with keeping it a secret til then. I'm 13+1 today and still comfortably in my normal clothes - the only real giveaway are my larger than normal boobs. Last time, to my annoyance, I really didn't show anything like a proper bump until about 17 weeks. You might just have to be a bit selective with your wardrobe to disguise things ie. nothing skin-tight or low-cut.

Good luck with your scan next week - it's so exciting!

ssmile · 24/02/2011 19:45

I trying hard to disguise it bought a loose cardighan for work but have had to go to maternity trousers. My bump has really pushed up in last few days, I am 12wks+1d, got scan on 28th so as long thats all ok then I can tell work. Will be a relief as suspect my boss twigged anyway!

Thought I was getting over the sickness but last 2 days been busy at work, got more tired and wham sickness hits again. In bed by 8pm last 2 nights which seems to help.

recklesspixie · 25/02/2011 09:12

Hi all, welcome newbies,
I am 11 weeks Smile absolutely starving the whole time, it's unbelievable how much I eat and I've been like this for weeks, anyone else the same? even waking in the middle of the night to eat Blush. This is my first pregnancy and had only heard of people like you 100 years who were really sick and couldn't eat, btw 100 glad you are feeling better and scan went well Smile
I have to bring food with me everywhere I go cos I can feel sick with hunger all of a sudden.

Rupsje · 25/02/2011 09:15

Thanks for the bump-hiding tips! I have a couple of large "chunky" cardigans which may have to come out should a bump appear in the near future...

ssmile I know what you mean about getting lots of sleep. I went straight to bed after coming home from work yesterday. Fell into a deep sleep and felt very strange when DH came home and woke me up to have dinner!

lolajane2009 · 25/02/2011 09:28

I'm 11 + 3 and I am getting a little podge at the moment, despite only gaining 900grams from my pre pregnancy weight. I am still having issues sleeping and I am exhausted. I am sleeping very light and my bladder is waking me after 5 hours. so irritating.

briefcasewanker · 25/02/2011 09:29

Hi, anyone on their second baby with a bump already? I'm 10 weeks and look about the same as i did at 20 weeks with DC1 Shock 2 and a half weeks til my scan too!

angelsw12 · 25/02/2011 11:49

Hiya, Congratulations to all!

Can I join? I am 35 and 9+4 with my first baby and due September 26th. Had a early scan at 8 wks due to previous MMC and saw the little heartbeat :)

Feeling sick since 6 weeks, and absolutely exhausted!

citymonkey · 25/02/2011 12:14

Hey Angelsw12, are you in London by any chance? I am 10+6 and have also been feeling nauseous constantly since 6 weeks... such a drag!

angelsw12 · 25/02/2011 12:26

Hi citymonkey yes I am in London...you? I know, the nausea, I am so sad that I cannot enjoy food anymore! Hopefully we will feel better soon.

Buranda · 25/02/2011 14:47

Hello ladies,
How are you all? I had my scan today and everything is okay :o so relieved and we even saw little baby stretching and moving around. I'm now due 11 September. It will be so nice to start telling people now. My DH and friend had a celebratory lunch of deli cheeses and meats, needless to say I was very jealous...

1sttimemomma · 25/02/2011 15:09

Great news Buranda. I bet you're relieved. It's so nerve wracking waiting to know that everything's ok. I'm due 17th Sept and awaiting my first scan - fingers crossed everything is as it should be!

lolajane2009 · 25/02/2011 15:36

Why no meat and cheese for you?

2BlackCats · 25/02/2011 20:07

10wks tomorrow, and like briefcasewanker on no 2 and yes I have expanded, been in maternity clothes for some time now have got out the big cardies and am now wearing my suit jacket at work more for disguise than out of necessity! I have to admit though at the end of the day I look at lot bigger than I do in the morning!

Scan on 11 March, can't wait :) not feeling too bad, but I have also been eating quite a lot which I find staves off the nausea, if I get hungry I feel much worse so eating is the way forward!

Sleeping also disrupted but I suffered from this last time - waking every couple of hours all the way through so not unexpected, I remember getting 7 hours straight in the first couple of weeks after DD was born and being amazed at how great it was as it had been ages since I had had that much sleep! Currently exhausted.

Congrats to those who had scans and are now spreading the news!

SuperheroYuki · 25/02/2011 20:29

Hello!

I'm 21 and about to have my first baby with my lovely lovely man... utterly petrified..did my test just after new year, and then about 10 more after until the projectile vomiting convinced me I probably was pregnant!!
Anyway I'm based in Harrogate and would love to chat to some other mums due September-ish time - I'm due Sept 12th..

SkiBumMum · 27/02/2011 21:14

Why the hell is morning sickness so named?

bebe1 · 27/02/2011 21:18

I know ski mine is ALWAYS in the afternoon and evening never in the morning....

jimmijam · 27/02/2011 21:56

good 2 c so many ppl on here have enjoyed 1st scans-or r soon to do so!!!

Ben10sMum · 28/02/2011 08:06

Hi all. I've been lurking for a bit tho did contribute early on but feel I really need some wise words now. As my previous posts said, I have DS who is 4 and now 13 weeks with number 2.

Had my scan the other day. Was great to see the wee thing jumping around. She measured the nuchal fold and took my bloods as I'd asked for a combined scan. Midwife called yesterday and said my risk came back as high at 1:25!!!! I've got to call the midwife back this morning to discuss options - I guess that means an amnio.

I'm so scared. I really enjoyed my last pregnancy but this time, I've been so sick and exhausted, had flu, and now this. To top it all my mum told me my sister has been diagnosed with a lymphoma on Friday. Most of my pals know I'm pg but don't want to tell them about the high risk thing in case I have to make a 'difficult decision'. But they'll all be asking about baby plans especially as I'm now past that 12 week mark and they'll want to see the scan photo but I just don't feel I can get excited yet.

Sorry to be a misery guts but I just feel rubbish today.

X

jimmijam · 28/02/2011 08:30

Ur decision is 1 only u and ur partner can make. We chose not 2 have any of the tests cuz i didnt feel id b able 2 deal with the dilema,so cant imagine wot u must b going thru. R there any specific support groups around that could help u?

fabcurls · 01/03/2011 22:54

Hi All - been catching up on the news.

Ben10sMum hope you're doing ok this eve and had a good chat through with midwife. Just take your time and ask all the questions in the world.

We had 1st scan last Thurs so now know its not all in my mind! EDD is 4th Sept.

Have got a bit of "i'm pregnant" fatigue with telling family and friends since the scan. As I said to DH last night "Do you feel that other people are way more excited than us?!" I'm sure it will come but still finding it all a bit weird. My sister has gone into overdrive with excitement and fussing and thats only on text!

Still v tired and been feeling a bit more ropey than usual over the past couple of days - bet I'll buck a trend and have an awful 2nd trimester!! Clothes still fitting but some getting slightly tightWink

Catch up again soon xxx
