I got it for £8 plus £4 p&p - it's the Angel Sounds one, it works from around 14-16 weeks but I'm 13+5 and it picked up.

I know what you mean about all the babies, I think there's a baby boom on! My brother and his gf are due pretty much now (he texted to say they're every 6 minutes now!), my other brother and his gf are due 17th September and we're due 11th September. A friend of ours is due 14th September and another on the 20th, then DHs sister is due in November (although we don't really see them). In four years time the reception classe are going to be overflowing.

CBear6 · 11/03/2011 19:57

Oh! And in case anyone is interested, Matalan has got a half price sale on which includes maternity clothes. I got a shirt reduced from £18 to £7, a dress reduced from £20 to £10 to £5(!), some tops for £8 each from £16. Well worth a look, maternity clothes can be so expensive.

jimmijam · 11/03/2011 20:20

bargains!
i've just been reading up a little on them and pricing, angel sounds seems 2 b the only 1 i can find good reviews for!

recklesspixie · 14/03/2011 18:13

went away for the weekend with some friends for my 30th. I brought my scan pics with me but now I can't find them, so gutted Sad going to book a private scan to get some more but it's not the same Sad

ssmile · 14/03/2011 19:43

Oh thats a shame with the pictures. The 20wk pictures are alot better you really see a little person. I used those mostly for memory reflection if that helps recklesspixie

jimmijam · 15/03/2011 10:31

ah bless recklesspixie our daughter drew all over or 12 week scan pic of this little un, i cried at the time but its fine, no-one can change it and tho its a beautiful keepsake 2 have, holding baby in our arms will more than make up 4 it
im sure your new pics will be even more amazing x

recklesspixie · 15/03/2011 20:54

Thanks everyone, had taken a photo of one of my scan pics on my iphone to send to my sister in london so printed that off today and it looks fine ;-) still annoyed about the 3 others I lost but at least I've one good one!
Going to buy maternity clothes next weekend, we've crap choice in Ireland which is weird cos we're renowned for having loads of kids ;-)

magicalmimi · 16/03/2011 09:36

Finally got my scan tomorrow - feeling so nervous about it. Far more than when i had my DS. Think I know what I could loose this time when I was blissfully naive then.

Have so many symptoms that I know are good signs but just feel irrationally terrified.

Here's hoping it being St.Patrick's day means it will be a lucky day for me x

newmumtb · 16/03/2011 20:46

Got the blood results back from the hospital, downs risk shows at low at 1:4600, but this doesn't sound very low:( Anyone else got their results yet?

iskra · 16/03/2011 20:54

newmumtb, think of it this way round: you have a 3599:1 of winning a million on the horses. You'd bet on that, right?!

We got our results on the day - I actually can't remember exactly what they were but they did not give me concern. I'm 27 so that brings it down a bit I think.

magicalmini, hope the scan gets okay & you get a good look at the little one. I felt just the same about my scan.

Feeling good at the moment, glad the morning sickness has stopped & energy levels picked up. Looking forward to feeling movement but not expecting it for a while. Starting to show a little though.

DD (2.9) has picked up on the conversations about the baby in the belly & mentions it everyday! I wasn't planning on telling her so early because I've heard that toddlers can have trouble waiting for the birth & don't get the timeframe involved... She did ask whether the mummy milk would come back for her when the baby came (I finally weaned her about 3 months ago)!

magicalmimi · 16/03/2011 20:56

That is low. In my pct they view high risk as being 1 in 150. I found big numbers hard to visualise but if you imagine a senior school has say 900 pupils. Now imagine five school full of children. It is a HUGE number! Don't worry! X

Thanks so much everyone, i feel a bit better now.. These things are so difficult to comprehend,I wish they would just say Low risk and leave it at that

recklesspixie · 17/03/2011 10:36

best of luck magicalmimi may the luck of the Irish be with you!

newmumtb hope everything works out for you xxx

CBear6 · 17/03/2011 11:01

My PCT does combined testing, 12 week scan and blood test in the same appointment. I declined the blood test saying that the nuchal translucency would be good enough for me. They scanned but haven't put a risk indicator on the scan report, I'm guessing if it was high they'd have pushed for me to have the blood test or would have at least mentioned something. 1:4600 is pretty low risk, with my youngest brother my mam was given a risk of 1:7 and he's absolutely fine.

Here comes the second trimester everyone! :)

recklesspixie · 20/03/2011 11:23

hello all! we've gone a bit quiet!
I'm on the couch and have been since friday afernoon, just exhausted. I had got my energy back for a few weeks and now it seems to have gone again. I'm 14 weeks so thought this would have passed by now? am thinking maybe I'm anemic? anyone else the same? and my nausea is back too Sad

CBear6 · 20/03/2011 11:33

Same here reckless, some days I feel like a big nauseus slug riding the sofa while I not-so-quietly gestate. The glow is coming! I know it is! I'm in that awkward place too where my over-the-bump pants/jeans are still slightly too big (the over bump fabric bit sags) but my underbump ones are uncomfortable because the waistband rests on the tender part of my tummy. Regular trousers went out of the window a few weeks ago.

Any cravings yet? I'm really wanting garlic pate on toast

Glimmerberry · 20/03/2011 11:37

Can I join (bit late I know)?

New MNer, our first pregnancy, positive test on Boxing Day. First three months shocked me a bit with the misery of hyperemesis and total exhaustion. I couldn't believe I was expected to wait to the end for maternity leave!

Feeling a bit better now though still tired, and have a cold this weekend too :(

Due date is 8th September. Main worry now is waiting for the 20 weeks scan, seems a long time since the 12 week one. And fitting into my work clothes before full on maternity wear is needed.

Got some issues to plan for at the end:

recklesspixie · 20/03/2011 12:27

CBear6 thanks I was feeling like a lazy cow. My poor DH has to do everything around the house. He's off playing soccer and I'm starving but too tired to go to the shop Sad when is this bloom thing coming?!! I'm more than ready for it!! Got some spots on my neck and they make me feel really grubby. Despite having all the Mama Mio products, Clarins body oil and Bio oil I am looking like shit- rant rant rant!!

Welcome Glimmerberry ! I'm due on 18th September. First pregnancy too. Despite my ranting above I am delighted to be pregnant and can't wait for September Smile

ssmile · 20/03/2011 15:24

Ive been told that the placenta takes over the hard work around 16wks which is when most women sickeness reduces and energy levels pick up. For my last preg and this one this is definatley coming true. I am 16wk+1 and feeling SO much better. Still need to eat regularly in the morning as get wobbly but not running to the basin heaving which is SO nice!

Hope you feel better energy levels soon xx

recklesspixie · 20/03/2011 16:05

Thanks ssmile I'm on the countdown to 16 weeks now! I seem to always on a countdown! 2WW to see if I'm pregnant, 12 WW for 1st scan, now waiting for 16 weeks for some energy, then it will be the countdown to my 20 week scan!!!!

Glimmerberry · 20/03/2011 17:27

Oh that's good news. I'm 16 weeks on Wednesday! Waiting for my energy to come back with anticipation. My nausea went from constant to intermittent about 2 weeks ago. I still get a bit of dry retching in the morning or if something turns my stomach, but I could easily live with it if only I didn't feel so exhausted and out of puff. Husband is currently running around doing the cleaning for me :)

CBear6 · 20/03/2011 18:39

I've got DH doing the bulk of the housework too. Feel bad about it because I'm still off sick from work (probably not going back between now and my maternity starting at 29 weeks, well 25 weeks if I count the holidays I've got left to take). 15 weeks today so hopefully this energy burst is coming in the next few days, I'm sure I'm having another boy.

BelleStar · 20/03/2011 20:24

I'm a bit late getting on the bus, but I've been quite reserved so far in thinking ahead! But I can't be like that forever, and I am super excited!

This is baby number one and we're due on 9th September. 15+2 weeks and all is well! Yippee! Most of my sickness has passed but still feeling pretty exhausted.

I'm 27, been married for 2 years, and very very happy just now! This is just a quick hello while I get my bearings on these forums, but I've get plenty to talk about so I'll see you again soon.

:) :) :)

CBear6 · 20/03/2011 21:51

Welcome Glimmerberry and Bellestar, lovely to have new passengers :)
