recklesspixie · 31/01/2011 17:04

does anyone else feel like shit? am 7 weeks+2 and the tiredness and queasiness is really getting me down....

SkiBumMum · 31/01/2011 20:00

I'm feeling fairly normal other than a bit grumpy which is beginning to worry me! Never happy are we? I'm reminding myself I didn't know for 10 wks last time so must have felt fine at 7 wks then.

JennyFurry · 31/01/2011 20:20

I feel the same recklesspixie - I'm 6+5. Wondering how I am going to manage when I go back to work after my leave. However I am trying to "enjoy" it as I am still amazed I am pregnant plus there are other ladies on here who would give anything to still be pregnant and enduring the MS and fatigue etc.

lolajane2009 · 31/01/2011 20:27

I'm 7 + 6 and exhausted. couldnt get to sleep last night and when I do sleep it is light.

recklesspixie · 31/01/2011 21:53

thanks everyone, actually feeling a bit better, went for a walk and rang some friends, it wasn't so much the illness as the fact that I felt a bit depressed and that freaked me out, all those hormones!!, at least i know that if it happens again I can drag myself out of it- nothing worse than thinking you are going to be at the mercy of your hormones for the next 33 weeks!

emoo777 · 02/02/2011 09:48

lolajane - have barely slept for the last few nights. I think it is partly hormonal but also have a scan friday and am meant to be telling my boss monday (I go back to work one week later). Woke up DH in a stress poor guy then when we finally got back to sleep my 11 month old woke up for 1 1/2 hours with teething pain.
recklesspixie - I also feel a bit depressed, I think its just a mental adjustment at the moment. I went through this in the early days of my last pregnancy, I think because I already felt such a strong sense of responsability. Still come the scan on friday, all being well of course, I think I will be very excited. Bloody hormones!!

ssmile · 02/02/2011 18:35

Have you tried natal hypnotherapy to help you sleep? I am trying it this time around and the techniques to help you 'turn off' each part of your body are really helping me resettle. I keep waking up at midnight for a pee and then 3am wide awake but by making myself relax each part of my body from toes up I seem to drift off again in no time Grin

ssmile · 02/02/2011 18:37

I too felt very depressed at the 8 week mark hormones all over the place. this week they have settled down again and I feeling more whole again less 'lost'. I just put it down to a massive hormonal surge..??

emoo777 · 03/02/2011 08:09

Thanks for the advice ssmile. Natal hypnotherapy sounds interesting - we just don't have money for this at the moment. I think I may try hypnotherapy at some point though as am often not great at sleeping so worth a try! Interesting about feeling lost too, I know what you mean. Just keep reminding myself how luck I am to be able to have children!

recklesspixie · 03/02/2011 19:29

Thanks ssmile and emoo777 good to know others have been there too, actually feel great today so it was only for a day or two and if it happens again at least I know it will pass!! have meet two people in the last week who tried to concieve (one sucessfully and other one unsucessfully) for 12 years, so I do try to remind myself how lucky I am to be pregnant at all.

emoo777 Best of luck with your scan tomorrow, let us know how you get on! x

ssmile · 03/02/2011 19:50

My natal hypno CD which my DH put on my ipod was £12 I think. see

www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk has information then I went on amazon or ebay to buy the CD.

Hi!

I'm a bit late in postin on this thread but is it still ok to join? I'm due around Sept 8th! First baby! Did test on Wedding anniversary (29th Dec - v faint line) and then again on New Year's Day! Not yet told many people but totally bursting to tell friends! Only 3 weeks until 1st scan though! All a bit scarey but exciting too. Just looking forward to 2nd trimester when I can stop being secretive and hopefully get some energy back! Been a bit stressful at social situations "pretending" to drink with other friends, especially as it was my 30th birthday at the end of January!

Symptom-wise been ok but just exhausted, headachey and excessively hungry (think that nauseated, hunger feeling has been the closest to morning sickness yet thankfully!). Been very tempted to have a post-lunch nap at work but being an open-plan office, I don't think it'd go down very well, especially as my boss doesn't know yet!

Bit of advice needed based around pregnancy bras! I'm not the most well-endowed (normally 32A-34B) but have noticed that my boobs have grown and my existing bras are getting quite uncomfortable. I've heard that I shouldn't wear underwired bras (all existing ones are underwired and majorly padded Wink!). I'm now 9 weeks PG and not sure if I should wait a while to go bra shopping incase boobs grow anymore (I'm kinda hoping!). I obviously don't want to have to shell out on a new bra each month! Any advice greatfully received. Also, you think M&S/ Debenhams are a good bet for small busted pregnancy bras? Plus, do I need to buy seperate nursing bra too when baby comes or can you get an all encompassing pregnancy/nursing bra Confused??

Thanks!

recklesspixie · 04/02/2011 16:13

WeeAl I'm going bra shopping this weekend too! my own are digging in to me and leaving red marks :-/ this is my first pregnancy too so can't offer you any advive on bra-shopping and what to get but I'm going to a lingerie shop in my nearest town and hoping that they will enlighten me there!I'm 34 DD usually and am petite so dreading finding out what size I am now , just hope I don't keep growing, at this rate I'll be giving Jordan a run for her money!! My 30th will be coming soon too but I'll be 13 weeks and I'll have had my scan a few days before it so will be the perfect time to tell people. Are you finding the wait for the scan soooooo long? I'm finding it excruiting and I keep reading and hearing about people who had missed miscarriages and it's freaking me out Shock

WeeAl · 04/02/2011 16:54

Recklesspixie - I totally know what you mean. It is the longest wait ever to scan! When's your scan? Mine is 25th! Fingers crossed everything will be ok. It's taken quite a while to get to this stage so trying to keep positive!

Think I need some activities to help pass the time but I'm so knackered I'm struggling to have the energy!

I'm hoping that swimming and bra shopping tomorrow will help!

Rupsje · 04/02/2011 17:15

Completely agree: the wait for the scan is so frustrating. I still have four weeks to go.

No helpful tips on bras I am afraid... Have not been lucky enough to expand in that area, haha! My main issue at the moment is needing the loo all the time, it is getting quite ridiculous, especially in work meetings!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

lolajane2009 · 04/02/2011 17:18

what concerns me most is that some bras stop at a smaller size. I am currently bursting out of my 34e and i am concerned how big i will get and whether i will be able to get a bra a like in my size.

emoo777 · 04/02/2011 18:16

Had my scan and all was fine! So relieved. Only shame is that I have been put forward 4 days which makes this not technically a September baby. BUT I like the people here and my last baby was 6 days late so I have every intention of staying Grin

Bras are a bit of a mine field as your boobs will keep growing and then be massive if you are breastfeeding. I am normally a B but even went to GG when my milk came in! But then down again to more like E or F. I bought nursing bras during pregnancy so that they would be useful after. My advice is to go to M & S and explain the situation and get advice. They were amazing with me and guessed future sizes correctly. I naively bought a C cup padded nursing bra at the beginning of my last pregnancy - lasted about a month!! xx
