Hi all and congratulations to the newbies.

I hope we are all feeling well. I feel sick literally 24/7....... fabulous!! I am also convinced I have some kind of a bump, which is bizarre because I am just over 7 weeks!! Everyone tells me that you show quicker with your second.... or that I'm having twins or triplets.... that does take my mind off the nausea I must say.

How is everyone else doing?

SkiBumMum · 27/01/2011 20:41

Hi all

I am so grumpy! Poor DD keeps asking if mummy is poorly as I am not full of my usual energy. Can't sleep but soooo tired. Grhhh!

Hope everyone is doing well

Penel · 27/01/2011 22:23

AppelyEverAfter and Recklesspixie thanks very much for making me feel pregnant normal again! We have first scan tomorrow and are moving house in 2 weeks, so not surprising I can't sleep really. DH meanwhile sleeps like a baby!

Laylasmummy have been thinking about you all day. Really hope results were positive.

pantspantspants · 27/01/2011 23:20

Hi ladies,

Can I tag on to the end of your month please! Going by my dates I'm due 29th sept.

Im sure of my dates but i've has a really strong positive, so hopefully they don't take off days as currently I'm due 10 days after I get back off Holiday. A friend of mine kindly informed me that it could mean twins tho!

After DD2 I lost a baby in may at 8 weeks (on DD2 Birthday) so we have been trying for a while but after last months disappointment we decided to stop trying. so, this baby is a happy supprise

I've two DD 3 years and 20 months so this will be my third in under four years! I've just got to confirm with the GP now but with 2 preschoolers its impossible to book.

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 07:57

Due Sept 21st with first. Had a whole bag full of symptoms but it seems to have calmed down now... Still tired though, and on the loo a lot. I look about 4 months pg with all the bloating and trapped wind and feel like a whale hauling it around. Is that normal?? No scans booked yet, getting impatient Angry wish we hadn't found out so early as it's going to be a loooong ride!

Congrats to everyone else :)

ssmile · 28/01/2011 09:11

BigBabyBoots - I too looked 5mths last night with rock hard tum full of wind its horrid this bit all bloated. Its normal I think I had it with DD I do some simple yoga stretchs 'childs pose' and lie on my back and pull knees up and roll around (yep sounds like a whale :o ) but it does help release a little plus peppermint tea in the evening at bedtime helps me. My sis had the same problem we nicknamed it nuclear wind :)

Hope everyone else is doing ok in the long wait till 12wks..... I phoned up for the midwife as I am 8wks and not heard from her but she on holiday so hope to hear next week.

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 09:21

ssmile, I find it all just 'disappears' overnight... I can't think where, but DP wakes up and screams when he lifts the bed covers Grin.

I've been told not to ring the midwife unless I haven't heard from them by 10 weeks but that's miles away. Plus I think I gave them the wrong info, I got muddled when they asked if this was first pg and said yes but I had a mc 2-3 years ago. Not sure if I should have mentioned that, it was a bit of a quick conversation Confused. Maybe if I ring them back they'll fast track me...

ssmile · 28/01/2011 09:30

BBB - yes they would treat it as a second preg I think. If in doubt give them a ring they are used to lots of women ringing them with concerns.

I wanted to get hold of mine as we are supposed to be flying to USA when I am 13wks and I do not want to go unless Ive had a scan so bit worried if I dont get booked in sooner rather than later.

Nicky7611 · 28/01/2011 09:32

Hello

Can I tag along? Im due 7th Sept with my first dc.

Im engaged and planning to get married 8 months after dc is due Shock

We have been trying for nearly two years, but managed an almost natural bfp (I was taking clomid). My scan is booked for 22nd Feb.

I was thinking I might be carrying twins. I have had loads of bloating plus there is an increased chance with taking clomid, but its reassuring to see i'm not the only one who feels big lol.

I think the worst symptom I have had is morning sickness :( which I am hoping will go away soon.

Congratulations to everyone Grin

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 09:35

ssmile - Can you not see a different midwife if yours is on holiday when your scan is due? Keep nagging them Smile. We've booked 2 weeks off in July to go to Crete but I'll be beyond 6 months then and wont be allowed to fly apparently Sad. It would have been our first holiday. Mind you I don't fancy being heavily pregnant in that heat!

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 09:41

Congrats Nicky Smile. So exciting we're all on this bus together!

Has anyone elses DP convinced themselves they're getting empathy symptoms? Mine keeps ringing while he's at work to say "All of a sudden, out of nowhere, I felt starving hungry! Do you?? Is it the baby??" then I have to gently remind him that it is lunchtime, so it's probably nothing... A few hours later he'll phone again with his wee update. "I've gone this many times, that's a lot isn't it - it's because you're going a lot". Bless.

ssmile · 28/01/2011 09:45

bbb - I wanted the same midwife as I had last time as we got on brillantly. Saw my GP this week and he was reassuring that should be able to get the scan in before the trip. As i mentioned going for a private scan but he said that shouldnt be necessary.
Nicky7611 - congrats I too have had the twins scare thoughts, my DH is a twin but dont think that carrys any increased risk. He wasnt supper happy as a twin so hoping its not but we just be glad the bean(s) is healthy! I read the Downs risks for my age and was shocked in 4yrs since I had my DD its doubled Shock

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 09:51

Oh gosh that is scary - I haven't even thought about Downs or anything else yet. I'm so scared of mc I'll be happy with baby in any shape or form, even if it's special Smile.

I hope I get a smashing midwife. I don't want the experience ruined by a grumpy one. And she wont want her job ruined by a grumpy me!

Allypally16 · 28/01/2011 10:16

I'm laughing out loud at all the talk of the 'nuclear wind' and bloating, and now soooo relieved it's happening to someone else too! Didn't realise it was a symptom of early pregnancy! Just to add to the sickness, sore boobs and totally needing a wee all the time! Not too mention the prenancy brain - are anyone else's words coming out all wrong and in the wrong order? And I'm only 5 and a half weeks pregnant!

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 10:40

Oh yes. I'm getting my hands muddled. Meant to throw my phone onto the bed a minute ago and threw a plate instead - lucky there was no one in the bed!

Misty9 · 28/01/2011 10:46

BBB my OH is also experiencing empathy symptoms Grin it's hilarious isn't it?!

Also, you should be fine to fly up until the 35th week of pregnancy (if uncomplicated) - I'm due on 9th Sept and I know I can fly (with doc certificate) until the 6th August, not chancing it though so have had to turn down the family holiday in first week of August :( can't even explain why to siblings yet either!

I have nuclear wind too - but not that unusual for me... Blush

8 weeks today...and the wait just seemed to get longer when 2 women at work announced they're pregnant! Please for them but compounds my frustration...
Right, I HAVE to get off the internet!

Hope all are doing well xx

Rupsje · 28/01/2011 13:58

Good afternoon!

I think it is ok to fly at 6 months: I had a long-haul trip planned for when I will be 22 weeks, asked GP and he said it would be fine. Will check with midwife next week.

Very excited today as I got my 12 week scan date: 3 March. Feels like a decade away though!

Very funny with OHs symptoms.. W

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 15:57

Oh not fair, I so can't wait for the scan. I'll be 12 weeks on March 9th and it does feel forever away!

OH rang again at 12 to report something but I'd been having a nap so I think I snapped at him a bit and he went away. Haven't heard from him again yet... He'll probably tell me next he's getting grumpy because I am! Grin

Good to know about the flying but I still can't see me wandering around in the heat carrying all that weight. Maybe somewhere cooler... It's quite mountainous there as well and I have a mental image of me tripping and rolling all the way down to the sea Shock.

backintraining · 28/01/2011 18:28

Any update from Laylasmummy? Fingers crossed for you.

Misty9 · 28/01/2011 18:54

backintraining have a look at her other thread "six weeks pg and no symptoms..." it has updates on it.

I think I'm addicted to pregnancy forums - is there a 12 steps programme for this?!

laylasmummy09 · 28/01/2011 18:55

hi ladies, im deffinitely getting off the bus, the pregnancy is not viable i have to wait for another hormone check on sunday to make sure the level is going down then decide how i want to "deal with it" they suspect it is ectopic so they want me to think about methotrexate to dizzolve it but i am just hoping its not ectopic and it will pass by itself x

Rupsje · 28/01/2011 19:20

So sad to hear that laylasmummy. I hope you are being looked after by family and friends. x

jimmijam · 28/01/2011 19:34

so sorry laylasmummy. make sure u take care of yourself, and get any help u need x

Penel · 28/01/2011 19:53

Regrettably I have to get off bus too. Had 8 week scan today and baby didn't have a hearbeat. Apparently it is called a missed miscarriage (no bleeding, visible signs etc) and baby probably died a week ago. Totally gutted and both feel so numb. Now need to wait to see if miscarry naturally or need to go into hospital for an ERPC. Had ERPC when lost our first baby a year ago at 14 weeks - was induced then had ERPC - so hoped never ever to go through it again.

Laylasmummy so sorry. You will be devasted.

Good luck everyone. Thank you so much for all your support and laughs these past few weeks. It has made everything so much easier to cope with.

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 19:57

So sorry for you both Sad. Take care of yourselves, I'm sure all of our thoughts are with you.
