hi paternal nice 2 c a man on here!
ben and jerrys phish food is out of the question (contains raw egg white and yolk, and i think something unpasturised 2), and morisons own brand italian hard grated cheese (looks like a tub of parmesan, label also says made from unpasturised cheese).
im used 2 it anyway being vegetarian (tho i give the kids meat and fish)- but if ur not sure of any foods, reading the labels can help. im sure most ice creams r fine, just avoid mr whippy type ones, as unfortunately u dont know the last time the machine was cleaned, or how well.

one thig i am confused on, some cheeses- i know i cant have goats cheese any more BUT some places say not to have camembare (have no idea how 2 spell that), today midwife said its ok 2 have?
i also gave up on feta cheese, then read today in the bounty book that feta is ok?

fabcurls · 20/01/2011 21:18

Evening all :)

I spoke to the midwife last week as off skiing next weekend :o!

She said with regards to food to ensure all meat was thoroughly cooked, avoid unpasteurised cheese etc (spag bog this eve with no parmesan was just not the same :(), avoid fish like shark, swordfish, marl(?),raw shellfish like oysters.
With regards to Tuna no more than 4 tins a week or I think 2 steaks - thats due to the mercury levels.

Hi Everyone another late joiner...! I'm due September 23. Still getting used to the idea, waking up ridiculously early and wondering how I will manage to surreptitiously not drink at my mum's 60th party tonight!
feeling very lazy and tired in the evenings already.

Rupsje · 21/01/2011 08:27

Hello all!

Another late joiner here! Really nice to read about other people going through the same issues.... Especially all the food you can't eat... Never thought it was so complicated and I am sure I have already got it wrong a few times. Does anyone know about having baths by the way? Is that ok? I read conflicting statements on the internet.

Anyway: a bit about us. This is our first pregnancy so I am going to be very excited and nervous about everything. Should be 7+2 now according to date of last period. I am going to see my GP this morning who will hopefully recommend a good midwifery service / hospital. Toying with the idea of an early scan.... Quite expensive but as I have no symptoms (apart from a whole lot of BFPs) it would be nice to see if there is actually something in there....

Enjoy the skiing fabcurls! I went skiing a few weeks ago when I must have been a few weeks pregnant (didn't know it yet) and really enjoyed it!

mummytomax · 21/01/2011 08:51

Hi congrats to all on your pregnancies.

Can I join? I think I'm somewhere between 5&6 weeks and my due date is somewhere around 19th Sept. I don't know for sure yet as I became pg after a mc without a period in between so it's hard to date, but I've got a feeling I know when it happened.

I'm really hoping this one sticks. The signs are good, painful boobs, dizziness and exhaustion. I'm allowed a viability scan at what I think is 8 weeks because there's been no period so only 3 weeks until I can hopefully start relaxing and enjoy being pg.

A bit about me. Married to DH for 5 years, DS is 2 and this new baby is very much wanted.

backintraining · 21/01/2011 09:57

Hi all, hope we are all okay.

I feel like absolute crap - no other way to describe it. I keep telling myself that I don't mind so much, all for a good cause!!

My blood pressure seems to be behaving itself, I go for another check up on Monday and then I'll be in with the midwife on 3rd. Our surgery don't see you til 8/9 weeks, I think it all seems a bit more real once you're booked in....... although the constant nausea is helping to make it seem real!

Hope everyone keeps well.

Jojo1983 · 21/01/2011 15:20

Just found out today that I too am pregnant and due in September around the 20th I think! First time for me and Im pooping it!

chelstonmum · 21/01/2011 15:23

Hi everyone,
Dh and I have spent the last week grinning from ear to ear as expecting baby number three in September. Due around the 21st!!! We have been trying for almost a year and were getting rather frustrated so very good news! We have told our children, parents and siblings and all are over the moon. Im so tired all the time and certain smells send me running for the sick bag but couldn't be happier!

Im down in Devon, where is everyone else? x

JennyFurry · 21/01/2011 17:15

Happy Friday everyone.

I decided to tell my team leader at work this week and really pleased I did. I work for the NHS in the community and it's good to have her looking out for me especially in case of any tricky situations where lots of manual handling is required.

Was offered the Swine Flu vacc today while at Asthma Clinic but decided against it. Leaflet says there is limited data to say that it is not harmful in pregnancy but I decided to wait until I've got through the first trimester and then re-consider. What are other people doing about it?

laylasmummy09 · 21/01/2011 22:21

jennyfurry congratulations Smile im doing the same, hopefully by the end of feb when i get to the 2nd trimester there wont be so much flu around so ill se how i feel then x

Rupsje · 22/01/2011 11:16

Goodmorning!
Hope everybody is feeling well today. Saw my GP yesterday so it all feels a bit more real now. Couple of bits of info: he said not to worry about having baths as your body will tell you if you are getting too hot, and to keep exercising as being fit will help in labour!!

My worry for today is an achy lower abdomen / back, but hope it is just some internal stretching going on rather than anything seriously wrong!

On the flu jab... GP said this would not do any harm and gave me one on the spot!!

Have a good weekend everyone!

jimmijam · 22/01/2011 11:18

Hi, im in somerset. I was told 2 ring up if i want vaccine, i do,bt as its already end of jan,by the time i get it and it becomes affective the flu season will pretty much b over

recklesspixie · 23/01/2011 13:30

6+1 today and absolutely exhausted, don't know how I am going to go to work tomorrow :(

fabcurls · 23/01/2011 20:04

Hi all - hope you've all had a lovely weekend. I've manged to get through a girls weekend away without anyone suspecting (I think!). Wasn't the easiest as it was a celebration weekend in a cottage with plenty of vino going about Envy how hard is it to think that it'll be months and months before a true girls night out can be had again!!

Welcome to the new ladies :)

I do think September is the best month but I am biased as my bday is then too!

Catch up tomorrow :o

Bowstress · 23/01/2011 23:22

Hi ladies - new joiner here!

I'm 5+3 and due on 23 September.

Bit about me - this is my second pregnancy. The first one ended in miscarriage last September at 7 weeks. I then got septicaemia too and was pretty ill for a while. All that's behind me now though and looking forward to next September!

Congratulations to all of you xx

jazz412 · 24/01/2011 12:35

Oh bugger, someone on another thread has informed me that I'm not allowed on the water slides - presumably so the water doesn't gush up my vag?!

FFS another thing I'm not allowed to do ;)

Slightly concerned about baths - we don't have a shower....

xx

acaseofyou · 24/01/2011 13:14

Hello all, can I join in?

According to my official dates, I'm 8+4, and due on 1st Sept. Just saw my midwife for the first time. I reckon the baby's less far along than that, though - had a tricky period in November as it was the first real one after coming off the pill. Astounded it happened so quickly as I'd worried it would take months or years. Also, I'm pretty sure that for the first week of little foetus' life I ate nothing but Domino's pizza. A good start :)

This is our first pregnancy. Married to DH for 3 years and this is very much wanted. I'm not a big fan of the nausea, though...

2BlackCats · 24/01/2011 13:25

Happy monday everyone, completed the weekly shop - had to leave the toiletries aisle and the banana aisle because of the smell :) reassuring nausea feelings... hope they don't get any worse.

Already attached to my gaviscon for heartburn again (surely too early for this at 5 weeks!)

In two minds about the flu jab, will see what doctors say when I get around to calling them, but I think I would refuse last years swine flu jab but consider the seasonal jab from this year.

SkiBumMum · 24/01/2011 13:46

Can I join too please?

I am due 21 Sept. Found out last week.

DD1 is almost 2. Didn't know until 10 weeks with her so this early bit is a bit of a novelty!

pinxminx · 24/01/2011 16:13

Can I join?
I think that I'm due about 20th Sept, this will be my second - my DD is 3. I haven't told anyone except DH - really want to, but don't want to jinx anything...

NataliaH · 24/01/2011 16:57

Hello All, another late joiner, due 9th september, 1st child for me, will be the 3rd for DH, haven't felt any nausea yet ducks but boobies have been sore since before christmas (i didn't test til Jan 4th) had scan at 5+4 as had severe pains - but all ok - apparantly these bedding in pains can last the whole of first trimester? - why do they not tell you this before hand - also why do they not tell you that if you don't keep a drink in your hand all day every day - you'll be ripped apart by pooing rocks? (sorry if thats TMI!) if anyone else is having that issue i was prescribed lactulose - bloody marvellous stuff! have told the out laws, my parents and close friends - i know we shouldn't but i couldn't help it - i'm rubbish at keeping secrets - also because 2 of my close friends are pg and so is SIL! (she's due in july) wow this a long post - i'll stop now!

Misty9 · 24/01/2011 19:23

Congrats Natalia - we've got the same due date :)
My boobs have been sore too - and feel very heavy without a bra and when in bed lying down. Not complaining though - was pretty small beforehand and OH is def enjoying this change!
Sickness has started, but seems to be nausea from early afternoon onwards. No upchucking yet...
I've been thirsty like never before (didn't drink enough before being pg) so drinking lots hasn't been an issue.
Over halfway to the magic 12 week mark now!

ssmile · 24/01/2011 19:26

Hi - for the big solid poos try...think it was called fibreease got in boots or you can get on perscription. Its orange drink you make up a sachet sounds horid but bland non script taste but solable fibre so 'natural' worked a treat. Worth a try if you stuggling :)
Got to the stage now where having the oven on makes me want to hurl and have to hold my breath opening the fridge door.. oh joys gotta love the nausea. For some reason beathing slowly and telling myself I am in control of my body (yes I have been listening to natal hynotheroy CD) seems to stop me actually throwing up??

laylasmummy09 · 24/01/2011 19:38

hi natalia im due on 9th too tested on 4th and SIL is also due on july 4th and my friend on 6th september lol gonna be a good year, got scan tomoz as been having light spotting but keeping my fingers crossed congratulations Smile

nunnie · 24/01/2011 20:04

Hello, I am expecting my 3rd, 2nd only being 16 weeks old Blush.

Think I'm due on the 24th but not 100% as hadn't really got a cycle back from previous pregnancy.
