Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/01/2006 20:25

Oh so what happened to superwoman taking over?

munz · 03/01/2006 20:29

boss gone off her, her english isn't as up to par as he'd like - it's a shame thou cos althou i'd be redundant in a way she's bloody brilliant and I wouldn't have to worry!

munz · 03/01/2006 20:31

is thhat right about the size thingy?? is 40cm big for 36 weeks then? i'm 32cm at 30+5 (or was) is that big? god it's soo stressfuly init.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/01/2006 20:37

well I'm only going on what was on breakfast tv this am, they were urging people to be cautious, I think it's linked into the article in the Observer on Sunday, which was one doctor, urging the British Medical people to look into the prevention of still births better, basically a lot of places weren't even doing the fundal measurement and that's how this lady was missed, she was only found to be large upon delivery measuring 44 at 40 weeks....

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/01/2006 20:38

wouldn't worry too much, as size tends to differ a lot on the run upto 36-37 weeks from what I can gather, but as baby should be slowing down around then, that's when the measuring should highlight the need for a scan to check size, if any doubts.....

munz · 03/01/2006 20:39

that's terrible isn't it, I personally don't think u should be allowed to go 2 weeks over (but i'm an overcautious type of a person) I guess what's ment to be and all, but how awful, I can't imagion going thru all of this, feeling the kicks the birth etc and then not having the baby. must be so horrendus.

looks like young anchovies is measuring big as well - did u see form the march thread?

munz · 03/01/2006 20:40

ok hon, i'm still within the 'grey' area - just! lol - but am measuring 32 weeks on my personalised chart not 30, as I say thou mum was always big with DS and he was 5 days early weighing in at 7.5lb. - now that would be nice - her labour was only 4/5 hours as well!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/01/2006 20:44

lol, sure you'll catch up and be fine, yep I saw anchovies post, have added my fourpenneth as they say!

munz · 03/01/2006 21:46

I don't wanna catch up - I wanna slow down! lol. hopefully it's all water/positioning/too many pies/quality streets! it was DH eating them all I tell u all him I only had one! lol.

lol - I actually had about 3/4 of the tin!

yellowbear · 04/01/2006 10:32

Hi Munz,

Thanks for remembering me - I gave birth to DS2 on 23rd Dec, by emergency CS. He was breech and although they had encouraged a natural birth it seemed that by the time I got to 5cms they had changed there minds. Charlie Jack weighed in at 8lb 8ozs and is being very good at the mo.

I don't post often but I always keep up with this thread as you all helped me through a difficult time. I will be watching for all your birth announcements!

MeAndMyBoy · 04/01/2006 14:54

Yeah congratulations Yellowbear and welcome Charlie . Hope you're not too sore and everyone is enjoying the newest yellowbear family addition.

h x

munz · 04/01/2006 16:57

oh YB - well done u big congrats honney.

MMB - how r u getting on hon?

TP tues yesterday and i'm up to 8.5 squares so come on girls what r u on??

romilly · 04/01/2006 20:27

will just go and measure up munz! are you doing the fundal measurements yourself by the way? or is that what the midwife told you?

yellowbear - big congrats to you honey wonderful news about charlie jack. hope you are feeling ok - it is so lovely hearing all about you girls and your new babies.

well i havent been on much because i have been so busy despite not having to go back to work. my b/p is a bit better now, so hoping it stays that way. my "nesting" instincts are kicking in early and am desperately trying to make sure i have everything you need.

big hi to friz, DQ, george, nemo, SK, yingers, dyzz and caddy of course.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 04/01/2006 20:27

Hi Yellowbear, congrats on your ds
Oh damn had forgotten that munz, will dash and measure......ARGH 10 sheets......dd is in the right place, but hasn't engaged yet....midwife did say I was measuring one week behind dates as well....(measure 31 and am 32 and 2 days) ahem........

Nemo1977 · 04/01/2006 22:14

hello all,
have to excuse spelling as am feeding hannah at the same time. Not a lot been going on here, Dh went back to work on sunday and kiddies are being angelic so finding it quite easy at the min...please remind me of this when I go insane in a few weeks..lol After having xmas off DH is now looking for a new job as he realised he wants to have a better job allowing him more time at home and weekends off as hes thinking long term about when kids go to school.

yellow beat congrates on arrical of charlie jack. Think you would prefer the csection if your birth had been anything like poor girl I heard on labour ward whose dd was breech...ouch ouch ouch is all I am going to say..lol

Dyzz am glad brooke made a safe arrival hun and look forward to catching up soon.

munz dont worry about measuring bigger as both of mine measured at least 2 weeks ahead and both appeared on either end of the scale from big baby to tiny baby..lol It really isnt an exact science as they all measure differently anyway. Plus even after scan and measuring I was sent for GTT with Hannah who was dinky compared to adam..lol

Rom hope you are enjoying your maternity leave and that your bp is behaving

cad hope you are having a great time in NY and have found somewhere to live. DH and I went there a few years ago and loved it, plan on taking the kids when they are preteen..lol

SK have you popped yet??? Not long to go at all now hun.

Frize 10 sheets think I got to 12 just before having hannah so dont panic its all water
hope you are all ok

Frizbetheexpansionset · 05/01/2006 09:26

Nemo, I'm panicing! sure its all baby!! glad to hear your all doing ok, hopefully you won't end up going insane, but if you do remember I'll be joining you in a few weeks!

munz · 05/01/2006 13:54

rom - it's what the m/w has told me form measuring with the tape measure. glad ur nesting instincts are kickin in, mine are as well, the nursery is finally finished, so LO has somewhere to sleep and the pram/nappys so he can come along now! lol. MIL is stressing as apparently she got nesty about 2 days b4 DH was born! lol - don't think jnr is gonna be coming quite that soon! lol. but am having clingy stages with DH - it's when u start baking u need to worry! lol. how was the hosue hunt/moving coming on? glad ur BP's down anyhow.

friz - 10 sheets! it's positioning hon, keep tellin urself that! lol, it's what i'm doing! when do they normally engage then? last apt m/w said baby was head down and all ok I didn't think they engaged till the end. it can't be all baby - and if it is u can't tell me cos i'm stressing about having a monster baby! lol. only a few weeks to go now! OMG!!!!

nemo - thanks for the reassurance, i'm hoping LO's no more than 8lb! lol. fingers crossed! how are ur two now?

romilly · 05/01/2006 14:56

lol munz - well i am now 9 on the TP sheets so i dont think you need to worry too much.

we have found a house but it is going to sealed bids on offers tomorrow so i am not very happy about that! we have already gone 5k over asking which is enough in my book. really feel like it is too late to be moving now anyway

munz · 05/01/2006 14:58

I don't know hon JM did it didn't she at 35 weeks I think - granted the army packers are brill thou if u want to tkae full advantage of the packing service/unpacking but I don't think she did. i'll be keeping my fingers crossed for u, what area were u after again? was it the dog home area?

Cadmum · 05/01/2006 15:28

Goodmorning all! We are not having much success in the house hunting dept. So far the places that we have seen are at the upper price limit and are really disgusting. (Roaches; tiny rooms and no dishwasher for $3500/month) Rather depressing as we rent a brand new 4 bedroom/3 bath house with a fenced in garden in Canada for $1500 CDN.

The search continues this week-end and I guess that if we don't find something much better that I will have to consider a return to Ottawa at least until after the LO is born. (I haven't even narrowed down a search for a midwife since we have no clue where we will be living but I do have a scan and an appt. with the consultant back in Ottawa on the 18th.) I am trying not to feel too blue about the whole situation as things could be much much worse. At least we are all happy and healthy and having lots of fun in New York City!

Big congratulations to Yellowbear and Dyzzi! Love the names you have chosen!

Thanks for staying in touch Nemo! Glad things are going relatively smoothly even with your D/h back at work.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/01/2006 15:33

Rom....

I did move at 35 wks pg, and the army packers are good, but i did do most of it myself - the packers only had to shift the boxes big stuff into the van and move it!

We unpacked it all as well - not easy with a toddler under your feet, but we did it. Take it steady on moving day.... DH sent me out to Toddlers the day we moved so i was out of the way for 2 hours and resting.....

need anything else just shout!

I do keep checking on you girls you know! Havent totally deserted you, but babies keep me SO busy!

munz · 05/01/2006 15:58

jm - forgot to ask yesterday how did u go first day without DH at home?? alos u know u shop at tesco, do u used tescos cereals? i've been doing the 2 kelloggs for £3.50 but if the tesco's ones are just as good i'll swop as it's bigger boxes for cheaper! - start as u mean to go on and all! alos have u tried the tesco nappies for NB's, just wondering if they're as good as pampers/huggys as we've got 4 packs of 26 pampers for disposables but I don't wanna spend mega bucks on them.

Cadmum · 05/01/2006 16:29

Munz: I love the Boots own brand nappies. They have lovely stretchy elastic in the back and never leaked. (Haven't tried the Tesco ones because we liked the Boots ones so much that they were the only disposables we bought.)

My children would not eat the Tesco cereal except the Corn Flakes... (Don't know how helpful that info is though as adults tend to be less choosey.)

Hello JandRM! I knew that you must be busy, busy, busy!

Rom: I have also moved at 33 weeks with DD. Not much fun really but it was better to be settled before her arrival. Here I am contemplating a third pregnant move as I also moved at 19 weeks with DS2!

Nemo1977 · 05/01/2006 16:35

hi all
how are you?
we are ok but hannah sounds a bit chesty so may be why she was clingy in the night and has been all day.

well call me soft but I have started adam on potty training today and so far so good.He has been ready for a couple of months but when pg i was too tired to follow it through.so he has been in underpants since 2pm and so far he has used potty when he has needed to..so wish me luck..lol

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 05/01/2006 18:03

hey girls - munz - not keen on own brand cereal - well tell a lie, i dont mind it but DH refuses anythink but branded.... go with the offers!

Use tescos nappies - just as good.... never bought pampers/huggies - pampers reacted with jess's bum (as do the wipes) but i cant see the point when there are cheaper alternatives. Agree that boots ones are really good.... probably better than tescos.

Becky really ill this afternoon, what started as a snuffle this morning has turned really bad...... she is struggling to breathe and isnt taking her milk and is coughing for england - poor little thing x
