sam when my labour started I didn't believe it for about 3 hours - no waters breaking, wasn't hugely painful, but it was regular (as I realised when i finally started timing contractions Grin). Saying that, I knew I was in labour plenty of time before DS actually appeared! If it's false labour/braxton hicks, they'll probably stop once you go to sleep/rest overnight.

Forgot to phone MW today to check for scan appointment (I swear, I'm so in denial about this pregnancy as I'm so paranoid about things going wrong. I'm going to get to 38 weeks and realise I really ought to see a MW...) DP wants me to do it first thing, must try to do so.

MissWooWoo sorry it turned out to be bad news Sad. When you're ready to start again (or even start thinking about starting to try again), remember the TTC after MC group on the conception board (i.e. where most of us were before here!) - loads and loads of support and women in the same state. And you know where to find this thread, of course!

liahgen66 · 22/09/2010 20:27

Hi everyone,

First of all, I'm so sorry to hear your news miswoowoo we know how you feel and when you need to talk we are here. :( Look after yourself. I had erpc at 11wks when we had mmc in Jan as I wanted it over with and like you was sure of dates. Sorry you are going through this, take one day at a time. x

hairy Grin Grin Grin Way to go girl, here's to a boring and fast next few weeks. :)

As for me, 14 wks tomorrow and due date is 23rd March according to scan so would someone please change it for me, thank you.

Haven't been on here cos didn't want to bring everyone down, I've been so ill, and still am I can barely function and after 7pm I canm't even speak without gagging, I'm a right bundle of laughs when dh gets home about now. I feel like complete shit and it's really making me depressed and miserable. To my shame, I have even contemplated not going ahead, I just don't know what to do with myself.

Am not vomitting, apart from once, just feel as if I'm about to 24 hrs a day, I can hardly breathe too, have no energy and walking up the stairs kills me. Feeling very sorry for myself. Didn't even get excited at seeing healthy little baby at 12 wks scan. :(

Sorry to moan. Glad everyone else is well, and yes niggle sand feelings of restlessness can be early signs. Watch out for tummy upset. :)

MissWooWoo I'm so sorry to hear your news :(

liahgen hugs to you. sounds like you're feeling pretty rough at the moment. is there anyone you could speak to? are you not able to breathe because of feeling sick, or is it unrelated? anxiety? not to scare you, but I was admitted with a pulmonary embolism after I went to the GP saying I couldn't breathe.
could you ask for anti-sickness tablets?
I hope you feel better soon.

sam I agree with loopy, sounds either like BH or latent phase to me. the advice we got was take a bath, if it's labour it won't make anything stop. Also, at 36 weeks you are still premature, so you should probably contact your midwife. Take care and good luck :)

alba there are pictures of my mum on top of a real mountain in the alps, time-stamped, that make her 41 weeks pg with my brother. Insane. In the background, you can just make out a sign saying "experienced hikers only". My mum was enormous, and my brother was born at 43 weeks weighing 13lbs. hehe.

as for me, we found a heartbeat tonight :)

SamanthaB123 · 23/09/2010 05:24

Thanks for all the messages, have continued through the night in the same sort of way. Woke up frequently thinking 'ooh I'm having another one' but it didn't keep me awake if you see what I mean. You'd never know this was my third would you? The others were such a long time ago that I've totally forgotten what I'm doing. I think that I will call my midwife this morning just in case. I guess my body and the baby are just getting ready. It may develop or stop altogether. Hope everyone has a good day, SB x

Sorry copying and pasting from my thread.

I'm shaking. Just did a test as no AF. It's positive. Had mmc in June/July. I tested Sunday BFN. I'm spotting brown when I wipe since yesterday. I've been taking Night Nurse and Day Nurse as I tested neg Sun. Am I now going to lose this one too? And I've taken migrane pills. Maybe 2 in the last few days.

Muser · 23/09/2010 10:43

Congrats on your BFP banana. Please try not to worry about the drugs you've taken. Think about all the people who don't know their pregnant and carry on normally for weeks and even months! Nothing you have done in the past few days will have harmed your baby. At this stage you're not sharing a bloodstream as the placenta won't have developed, so it's really very protected.

The spotting could just be implantation. I know how scary it is, and of course it could be something bad, but so many women have spotting that is nothing. When you've been through the worst you obviously assume the worst. But it really could just be implantation.

What a bloody miserable day today! Raining its pouring the old man is snoring!!!!!! School run in the rain - joy! Not much to report from Casa de Magic8 apart from some little flutterings Grin which is luberly! Started taking extra progesterone this week and will continue for the next 20 weeks Hmm, scan next Wed which I have had some real bad feelings of dread about - fink its me 'ormones! Still Keeping Calm and Carrying on!

Apologies for lack of name checking and sorry if I have missed you off but my brian is having trouble functioning with all that scrolling up and down!

Banana congrats on your bfp, possibly implantation bleeding and don't worry about the cold remedies. Big hugs to Misswhoowhoo sorry to hear you news.

Sam how you doing now?? What did your MW say? Could it just be braxton hicks?

Ivy Grin on the heartbeat.

Liah you sound so down hun, feeling sick all the time is so draining maybe give your GP a ring and see what they suggest. Wish you better very soon x

Alba Shock at your mountain story and overdueness!

Viv hun, I thought you might book one and I am glad you have, here to hold your hand until then...and you Battery!

Hope things love along quickly Louise I know the last few days are a little bit sucky but you are so close to the prize! TFLS Shock at doctor! How are you doing?

Oh well done Muser you reminded me about the dentist!

Love to you all!!!!

HappyGirl1 · 23/09/2010 15:18

Hi Everyone,

I second your rain Magic it's absolutely pouring down here in the NE, no umbrella with me either! Hope you are enjoying your flutterings they are totally amazing aren't they!

Liahgen really hope you feel better soon, you are having a real rough time of it.. make sure you talk to people in RL.. as mentioned previously it's hormone city in your body at the moment, hopefully all will be well soon.

banana congrats!

sam hope you are doing well too, how exciting that your body is getting ready for baby arrival!

I realise how COMPLETELY daft I'm being like completely daft BUT literally in the last 48 hours I need the loo ALL the time even more so than before 12 weeks, even when I go I feel like I need to go again.. also have definitely noticed bump get lower significantly in the last few days and everyone keeps saying I look extra exhausted. There is no way this is labour starting is it? Clearly i'm being daft i know i know but it's just i'm due to be away on sat til sun to go to show with my sister and hence away from Dh for a night but would hate if i went into labour without him. I'm only 29+1 so I know i'm being daft but it's just such a different feeling these last 2 days

AlbaDeTamble · 23/09/2010 15:49

Lia, so pleased to hear from you, I was getting worried that 12 weeks had not been good news and didn't like to think you were going through all that again. But I'm so sorry you're feeling so awful. It's just not fair, we try so hard and want so much to have a successful pregnancy, then a whole bunch of hideous symptoms knock us sideways and it's really tough to get through.

For what it's worth, I think the hormonally induced depressions can be so much worse with the pressure of thinking it should be such a happy time and we should be so grateful for this little one being ok. And so we make ourselves feel even worse and don't acknowledge how unwell we feel and just put our feet up. That's certainly been my experience this time around.

I know you have lots of children so I don't suppose there's a lot of respite and time for you, but I do hope you're getting looked after and putting your feet up as much as you can. I think we also had due dates pretty close together for our little lost ones, so I don't suppose that can have been helping how you've been feeling lately either.

I wish I knew some magic way to make it all better, but I very much empathise with how you're feeling. As Unbuffy said, sometimes you get better days, so make the most of them and just take one day at a time. The hormones will change, which should help your mood as well as your sickness (though following what Ivy said, I hope you've seen your GP about the breathlessness). It will get better. I'm lucky, I'm having a good week, and you better believe I'm really appreciating it!

And don't keep away -- if you need a rant when you're feeling so dreadful, it can really help just to write it all down.

Hi to everyone else -- lovely news on the double flutterings Magic!

Hoops with son Benjamin Scott, 7lb4oz born Friday 2nd April 2010

Meita with son Ianto born 23 August - 7lbs 4
Boodleboot with daughter Alice Elizabeth born 10 Sep - 8lbs 2oz

My current state is pretty much unchanged. I went to work and pottered about, everyone commented on how much lower the baby looked so maybe that's what yesterday was all about. Had some contractions as yesterday, less I would say probably due to a degree of stress. I only have a week of work left so am going to either start late and finish on time or start on time and and finish early to try to keep myself going to the end. Also going to work from home Tuesday too.

Hope all well, heading off for a soak in the bath and definately an early night. Feeling drowsy already and it's only 5pm Blush. SB x

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 23/09/2010 18:02

Happy give your gp or midwife a call and go as soon as you can as you might have a uti if you are doing lots of wees, I had this for a day were I was literally peeing every 1/2 hour but gp just said pressure from baby on bladder etc as all tested normal. Don't worry though.

Good that all unchanged sam as best baby stay in as long as possible. Enjoy your soak and rest up!

Alba & Lia those bloomin hormones have MUCH to answer for x

My day got worse, DD had an incident with scissors at school, one of my older mindees had a terrible bathroom accident Confused Blush, then at dinner DD wanted to know how the babies will come out. Thank the lord I have tomorrow off.

It's always at the dinner table!!!!!! They got a very brief answer along the lines of ladies have a special place where babies out when they are ready! I did think about the sunroof answer but seeing as my DD had the scissor incident I decided against it!!! The 'how babies get in there' question was another one at the dinner table asked by DDs friend. They got the special cuddle reply! They are just 4 so my "special" answers were enough! Grin

clareanna · 23/09/2010 20:09

lia lovely to hear from you, but so sorry to hear you are feeling so down- just keep telling yourself that this too will pass...

magic lol at your answers! My ds thinks my tummy will go pop like a big balloon - told him about the special lady place- to which he replied 'is it like a big slide? Can I see? Can i have a go?!' I changed the subject and firmly crossed my legs!

Sam hopefully they are just strong bh? Have you spoken to your mw?

banana congrats on your bfp! Hope all is well and you get an early scan

I had some good news this week about my job (I've been in consultation) job and a payrise has been confirmed but instead of being relieved and excited I just feel completely knackered and drained. Think I need a break!

Thanks ladies.

I do not think that I will push for an early scan on the NHS. As a matter of fact I am not even telling the GP until after I have a private scan. I had a really bad experience with the EPU and do not want to see them again :(

It looks like everyone here is in different stages of pregnancy...I will hopefully catch up quickly!

Muser · 23/09/2010 21:12

liahgen I missed your post this morning. Have you been to the doctors about the sickness? I struggled for so long until I finally broke and got cyclizine prescribed. It really has made the world of difference. When I forget to take a tablet the nausea hits me straight in the face again, with it I feel good most of the time. Occasionally if I'm very tired it hits me, but mostly I feel like a new person.

thefatladyscreams · 23/09/2010 23:23

Firstly I'm so sorry to read your news MissWooWoo - it's so unfair. Hope you're getting loads of support and giving yourself plenty of TLC.

Thanks for all the supportive comments re the charming doctor ladies. One of those situations where you think of the really smart answers afterwards but I think she definitely had me in the "challenging" box Ivy! Great news re hearing the heartbeat! Smile

Alba - what were you doing up a mountain at 37 weeks you mad lady! It's been helpful to read your approach - glad you didn't need any interventions last time (you read such horror stories re induction). The hospital leaflet didn't help as, apart from loads of grammatical mistakes (have resisted the urge to make them up in red ink and return Grin) it is written in terms of what they WILL do to you. Small matter of consent seems to have been forgotten!

Unbuffy - I've had firm words with my bump that he needs to ensure we stay with the midwife route!

Louisesh - know what you mean about the wardrobe getting limited by now! I'm not that fed up - just more keen to get on with things so I can avoid induction. You do know it's a full moon tonight where labour apparently gets more likely - ha ha!

VivC and Battery - will be sending you both loads of positive vibes on Saturday. VivC - you might get an odd look from the sonographer if you are literally shitting bricks! Grin

SamB - have you given your midwife a call. Sounds like it could well be BHs but several women from my antenatal group have just given birth early so maybe a good idea to run it past your midwife. Definitely wouldn't force yourself into work though. Hope you're doing OK.

Hopefully - I will be nagging you tomorrow to check you've booked that appointment! I think I kept putting mine off out of some fear of history repeating itself.

Liahgen - sorry you're having such a rough time. Horrendous hormones and MS are bound to be a killer so please, please don't beat yourself up or worry about moaning - let off steam on here as much as you feel up to. Must be worse feeling permanently sick without the relief of actually being sick. Another one saying have you been to your GP (sorry not much experience as I didn't get MS too badly but found acupressure bands helped).

Banana - congratulations on your BFP. Don't worry about tablets etc as the placenta doesn't kick in for a while. I'm posted something very similar after my BFP as I'd been drinking, taking ibruprofen etc as I'd given up expecting a BFP.

Magic - building an ark weather here as well. Enjoy your day off - sounds like you really deserve it!

Congrats on the payrise Clareanna!

Happy - I think nature plans these ups and downs in pregnancy symptoms out of some perverse sense of humour!

Hope meita and boodle are doing OK. Also big hello to Cheepz if you're lurking somewhere - haven't "spoken" to you for ages my dear and found myself wondering what was going on in Cheepz land the other day.

It's my due date today and no news. I know what day I ovulated and judging by that I think my earliest due date is Monday so not expecting anything yet. Plenty of BHs in the evening and did have an upset stomach today but put that down to antibiotics I'm on. When I had the Group B strep test they detected a mild urinary tract infection - must be mild as I'd had no symptoms but I decided to take the antibiotics anyway (midwife said it was up to me whether I bothered) as the thought of cystitis whilst in labour was just too terrible to contemplate!!! Shock

barrenbrook · 24/09/2010 06:11

Just popping my head in to say hi to my old pals. Congrats to meita and boods hope you are both doing ok. Also to wish TFLS and LeeWT the very best of painfree luck for you impending arrivals. Hello to the rest of you that remember me, I'm still here, plodding on. Hugs to you all xxx

thefatladyscreams · 24/09/2010 10:37

Hiya barrenbrook - lovely to hear from you. Hope life is treating you well. Take care.

BunnyBaby · 24/09/2010 10:40

TFLS I'm horrified at your consultant, though I has something similar with DS1. I was 14 days late and she did a sweep was the most painful thing that I ever experienced, will definitely be refusing next time. When she saw the pain I was in she laughed in a snarling way and said "that's nothing compared to how labour will feel". In fact it was just as painful, the bxtch! I think they sometimes get a smug satisfaction from making mums to be feel inadequate.

Banana congratulations on your BFP, I had spotting a week before my BFP which was implantation, it can carry on or happen around the BFP or later.

MissWhooWhoo sorry to hear your news, not a nice place to be, we found out our little one had died at 11+2 at the 12 weeks scan.

Happy I think the baby moves around a lot as I'm 26+5 and have been up for middle of the night weeings which I haven't had to do for quite some time.

Magic the flutters are fantastic aren't they, sounds like all will be perfectly fine at the next scan!

Clare PMSL as "big slide" and "can I have a go". DS1 (2.9yrs) is now very interested in his baby pictures and tries to get in my tummy by doing a headstand on my belly button. He knows that he had to come out those years ago as he was too big and wouldn't fit back in there again. We were also talking about unbilical cord and how much he enjoyed eating cabbage and onions through it when he was in my tummy (he now completely avoides these foods), to which he looked surprised!

Barren a big hello back, and I'm sure you'll be joining us again very soon!

As for me, I'm just getting over the trapped nerve from last weekend. Last night, I managed to roll over in bed in my sleep without the pain waking me up. Thank goodness for my wonderful osteopath who was able to release it.

I can't believe it's nearly October, trying to find a spider fancy dress costume for DS1 for halloween.

Hugs to everyone

Bunny xxx

PenguinsMummy · 24/09/2010 11:47

Congrats Banana and Hairy!

Magic the flutterings must be so exciting!

Really sorry to hear your news MissWhooWhoo - take care.

All quiet here - so far so good - just waiting for scan date still.........
