Hi everyone,
Thought I would start a thread for all us mums to be who are due in May 2011 so that we can support each other. xx

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsnich84 · 18/01/2011 18:52

thanks ladies - clueless i live in henlow which is on the herts beds border if you get desperate! I went to the midwife today and it scared the crap out of me - she couldnt find flumps heartbeat for ages. she finally found it - he must just be a little bugger laying a funny way round. Hes not even here and hes giving me grey hair lol hes bad for my nerves! I think I'll be keeping me tights on til 6th may to be on the safe side!

Bubandbump · 18/01/2011 19:00

Just a quick question, prompted by another thread.. I am 24 weeks and the baby spends an hour at a time kicking probably 5-6 times day and night which keeps waking me up especially at it's favourite 4-5 am..

I was watching it this afternoon and it was making the iPad jump on my stomach. The midwife asked me last week if I was feeling much movement but I literally could get to 50 kicks an hour when it's going for it.

Does anyone else have this or do I just have a potential kick boxing champion in the making?

BlueWellies · 19/01/2011 11:30

Bubandbump Mine is kicking, but not hard enough to feel on the outside yet. DH still feels left out. Thursday and friday were a bit uncomfortable for me as he was kicking me quite low down all day - felt like in my bladder, but that's stopped now luckily. Not sure what's normal. ng1412 I thought they didn't say you don't need to worry too much about movements till 28 weeks? Is your worry because of previous complications or should we all be paying proper attention?

Our bump (it is a he apparently) is called Roger - but not for real, unless it sticks!!! I know friends who called it 'Bean' and couldn't get out of the habit!

ng1412 · 19/01/2011 12:50

Ooo no Bluewellies, sorry didn't mean to panic you, I am just neurotic and had a history of problems, you are right not to check for movement until later on.

I hope our bump's name doesn't stick, can't imagine shouting "Consuela" across the playground - no offence to anyone reading this with that name....:-)

CobainsAngel · 19/01/2011 13:59

I'm another one due in may =D May 22nd/23rd! =D
I can't wait! x) There's so many pregnant ladies, but wow, so many due in one month! I think there's going to be dirty nappies and screaming babies everywhere we look, in the arms of most woman by the end of the year =P haha! I found out on Friday that we're having a girl! =D Anyone else found out the sex of their baby yet? xx

jellyhead188 · 19/01/2011 18:29

Hi guys

Am 25+3 today - does anyone else feel totally crap! I am so bloated and indigestiony, the baby seems to think my bladder is a trampoline, I keep having braxton hicks and yesterday I swear she was trying to come out of my bottom! I just feel so yucky and blurgh! Sorry to moan, I'm v excited by this bubba coming just want to feel a bit better physically!!!

trixie123 · 19/01/2011 19:09

hey clueless, I am very near you but won't say exactly where as don't want to "out" my name on here! (is a very small place) Am having my 2nd but always keen to meet new mum friends. If you send me a private message (not sure how you do this but I've seen others talk about) maybe we can get in touch. I'll check back on here soon. Smile

LabMonkey · 19/01/2011 19:17

Ziggy is def a wriggler but I have to put DH's hand in the right place and press down so that he can feel the kicks - he's only felt a couple as most aren't hard enough. 4-5am seems to be a favourite time for wriggling here too - wakes me up then I'm awake for an hour stressing about work :(

Anyone else's bump hurting? I was walking to work today (I sometimes work in London) which is about 3miles from KingsX and it was really sore by the time I got to the office. Then again walking to a meeting 1 mile from my office and it was quite painful only a few mins out of the office. I think I might have pulled a muscle swimming.

Teasie · 19/01/2011 21:22

Hi Lab, yep my bump hurts when I walk any distance. I got a bump band today so will try that out and let you know if it works.
Our baby has been pretty quiet the past few days- just very gentle little flickers. She was quite bouncy last week and gave me an awful fright Friday night- I think she was sitting on a nerve and the shooting pains literally took my breath away.

cowboylover · 19/01/2011 22:25

trixie and clueless: You can private message on the blue bar net to the posters name, far right for message poster.

My bump has been feeling very different the last 2 weeks it feels like everything has changed really quickly. Last night I was in bed with my phone on the bumo and she kicked it straight off! I had a fit of the giggles then but now DH is home for the first time in a week and shes being very quiet

Biggem · 20/01/2011 09:37

Ooo!
So glad to have found this thread finally!
I'm 23 weeks today, due the 19th.
Jellybean def has set times of the day to move, and using my bladder as a trampoline is def the favourite activity.

Katerlina · 20/01/2011 11:16

Hi there - haven't posted for a while - just thought I'd check in. Had scan we're fairly sure that we are having a little girl - my second, already have a DS so am very pleased (although pretended I didn't care before!)

Feeling much more movement with this little one than with my son - she kicks all evening and most of the night, which is lovely to feel.

AS regards painful bump - I don't get that, but I get very stiff in my hips and lower back after a dog walk or pushing DS (nearly two and a big lad) around in his buggy for any length of time - he's getting much more used to walking these days, which is good for both of us. I think it's the ligaments softening which causes this, nothing to worry about - but if you have a longish, regular walk on pavement, a bump band for a bit of support for your ligaments wouldn't be a bad idea...

Other than that - I'm having a lovely pregnancy. And getting a bit emotional about her arriving now -can't wait!

mrsnich84 · 20/01/2011 20:23

ive just started leaking colostrum today which totally freaked me out. has anyone else had this yet? im only 25 weeks tomorrow - its gonna be so inconvenient to have to wear breast pads for 15 weeks even before the baby arrives!

ng1412 · 23/01/2011 11:58

mrsnich84, no leakage from me, but I keep checking every day...!

Had plenty of kicking though which keeps starting the minute I go to bed and then is there when I wake up in the morning.

No pain on my bump (yet) but really bad backpain down my side when sitting and lying on the sofa and walking round the shops...only 15 weeks to go :-)

mrsnich84 · 23/01/2011 13:14

my belly button has started to do weird stuff now and it feels all tight and stretched. not the most comfortable sensation ive ever felt! lol

Biggem · 24/01/2011 10:20

mrsnich84 my belly button is OUT in a major way, some days its more so than others but its been like it for weeks - am I going to have a giant baby I'm only 23 weeks!
And people (family) think it ok to push it in, it is the weirdest sensation in the world
Hmm

LabMonkey · 24/01/2011 12:51

I'm 25 weeks now and I think my belly button will be popping out in the next week or so. If anyone thinks they can touch me it will not end well - I really can't stand people touching me at the best of times! Wink

I have also discovered that gaviscon is my friend so I'm not being sick at random times anymore which is nice.

BlueWellies · 24/01/2011 13:42

No belly button action yet. Except DH and I never noticed I have a mole in there before. Have bb fun to look forward to!

LabMonkey, are you getting bad indigestion too? Can't handle gaviscon or anything except chewable rennies, which are of limited use to me. Went to GP couple of weeks ago as pain/sickness/general discomfort was making life a misery. GP prescribed ranitidine, which seemed to be helping till this weekend, but is worse again now. I'm a bit fed up of being sick (almost) in my dinner every so often, but at least it's not random times for me! Glad Gaviscon is working for you. I think I need to keep my stomach full full full of food. So almost continously eating, which is no good for the fridge which seems to be constantly empty!

Bubandbump · 24/01/2011 13:52

Looks like we have a due in May and suffering with indigestion club going too! I have suffered from acid reflux in the past from gallstones and apparently you then become more prone to it during pregnancy thanks to those lovely pregnancy hormones.

Rennies never worked for me but small, constant food helps as it doesn't allow the acid to build up (except at night) and not lying flat at night.

But 25 weeks today so one more week and into the last trimester!!! Hurray!! Where do they find those pregnant ladies for the posters though looking all happy and glowing like they are having a wonderful time?

ng1412 · 24/01/2011 17:23

Just been for my 24 week check up and the midwife couldn't find the heartbeat, despite trying for about 15 mins. I have an anterior placenta so I think (hope) that's the reason. We heard the blood pumping and consuela kicked whilst the m/w had her hand on my belly so I am hoping all is well. But my nerves are shot now, wish I could have a nice glass of wine to settle my nerves....

LabMonkey · 24/01/2011 17:32

Yep it's good old acid reflux! I'm not sure what sets it off but the gaviscon (onto Tesco's own now - much cheaper) has stopped me being sick so I'm happy. I think I'm lucky as it's not painful just a bit uncomfortable for a bit.

missemmajane · 24/01/2011 17:52

I feel quite lucky compared to some as haven't had many major symptoms really, im 24 weeks and do get indigestion at night, especially if I have eaten my dinner late, and it can be quite painful, but usually eases after an hour or so.... but I have been getting nose bleeds, has anyone had this, my midwife says its very common in pregnancy but none of my friends who have had kids suffered with this???

trixie123 · 24/01/2011 18:29

ng1412 sorry to hear that but try not to worry, it can just be down to the position etc. if she is moving around you should be ok but you can always go to the antenatal clinic and ask for a scan for reassurance.
Also, is anyone else pissed off that we miss out on the £190 by about a week? You have be 25 weeks by the end of Jan so I literally just miss it. Got it last time though so guess I shouldn't complain really!

Janoschi · 24/01/2011 19:14

Actually you need to be 25 weeks by Jan 1st. Which is sad. My twin sister had the full pregnancy grants etc (her baby was born last week).... oh well. Wouldn't mind if I was rolling in it but I'm a freelancer doing a very seasonal job so winter is such a bad time.

LabMonkey · 24/01/2011 21:32

Hey ng1412 I saw on another thread that you're looking at the Rosie. It's our local and as we're taking part in the POP study I'll
be there in May too. This is my first so no info on the facilities but friends say it's nice.
