Hi everyone,
Thought I would start a thread for all us mums to be who are due in May 2011 so that we can support each other. xx

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

OK I'm having a meltdown - has anyone else not felt their baby move yet?. I'm 20.5 weeks and I don't have my scan until Weds am. I don't know if I've felt Ziggy move yet or not - how can you tell? Is it a problem that I haven't felt a kick or anything obvious like that?

clarabella18 · 20/12/2010 21:50

Is it your first labmonkey? It's quiet common not to feel anything till around the 20 week mark as you don't really know what your feeling out for. I'm 19 weeks with no2 and have been feeling the odd fluttering for the last week or 2. It kind of feels like butterflies and trapped wind you know when it's all a bit bubbly in there! Mine always happens around the same time each evening too so once you realise you can almost set your watch by it.

I wouldn't worry too much though as I said earlier if it is your first it's not uncommon. Good luck with your scan!

LabMonkey · 20/12/2010 22:05

Thank you clarabella My DH has just pointed out that he was right! :) I've had some "bubbling"? but to be honest I've had some grim wind so I thought it was just that. Will report back after the scan - only 26hours :)

pissovski · 20/12/2010 22:42

hi all

Had my scan on Friday - all is well. Such a relief (have been quietly worrying about the 'what ifs')

Good luck to everyone who is waiting on scans

cowboylover · 20/12/2010 23:21

It is a an anxious time with feeling movements or not, I am not sure what I should be feeling as sometimes its a gentle flutter like excitement or wind and others it's so strong it hurts but is that normal?

My scan is in the morning but I don't know if we will be able to go as not been able to move the car since Thursday and we have had loads more snow since then!

Wish me luck and stay safe out there x

titchinmytum · 21/12/2010 00:20

Happy Christmas everyone! Had our scan yesterday, very bouncing baby boy with all his bells & whistles looking gorgeous & announced perfectly healthy by the Dr who scanned me (Titch had a large nuchal measurement so we had some worries). Hurray! What a lovely early Christmas present :)
Labmonkey - I think you are a trooper to keep running in the cold over there (we're in OZ) let alone keep going til 5 months! I am a runner too but having a mc before this one and then all day long morning sickness I have happily resigned myself to dog walking duties until titch arrives. Feels weird not to have any sore muscles tho! I have found my blood pressure to be extra low since being pregnant & that hasn't made me in any hurry to jump around either. Your body definitely lets you know when to take it a bit easier. I am not worried tho- might have to do the Gold Cost Half next year instead of the Marathon, that's all!

Hi everyone, I have written before on one of the May threads but I can't remember which one. I'm due on 3rd May, so just turned 21 weeks. It is going ridiculously fast. Really feel for you spd sufferers, my friend who is due in January is suffering really badly from it. I had my 20 week scan on Friday and we're having a girl! I know the sex but dh left the room as he didn't want to know. It's very exciting as we have 3 boys and a relief that she's healthy. (Still can't get used to saying 'she' Grin

nancerama · 21/12/2010 11:01

Hi everyone, our little Sprout is due on 10th May. We had our 20 week scan on Thursday and everything is progressing well. I finally feel I can relax and enjoy this pregnancy now. We managed to avoid the temptation of finding out what we're having. Although we told my mum after the 12 week scan, we're only just starting to tell all our family and friends. Can't believe I'm already half way there.

cowboylover · 21/12/2010 14:34

So nice to hear all the scan news!

We had ours this morning and we are having a girl! I dont know hy but I am a little suprised as been saying him for ages now. I am just so excited and it makes it feel so real: My thoughts iover the last few months have been that I am not just pregnant but actually having a baby and now the fact that the baby will be our daughter makes it feel even more real Xmas Grin

The Next sale starts soon and I am so excited to go shopping for her x

LabMonkey · 22/12/2010 22:05

We had the scan today and everything is fine with a few "I told you so" comments from DH :)

All the fingers, toes, kidneys etc in the right places and the heart's doing grand.

I've also worked out that I can feel him/her moving which is awesome. Ziggy's much bigger than I'd realised which makes me feel less fat which is nice too :)

JBrd · 22/12/2010 22:24

I've got my 20-week scan tomorrow, am anxious and excited...It'd be awful to discover now that something it wrong!

I've also not felt any movement yet, but then again I don't know what to watch out for, as this is my first!

Queenofthehill · 22/12/2010 22:43

EDD is 19 May - bump seems to have grown inordinately in last couple of weeks! Rather alarmed! Anyone else feeling big of bump?! Confused

LabMonkey · 23/12/2010 07:04

JBrd this is my first too and I think I've worked out that I can feel movement. Everyone kept saying it's like having butterflys and using the word fluttering which really freaked me out as I don't have anything like that. Yesterday when they asked at my scan if I'd felt anything she said it might be a sort of popping, kinda like gas moving around which is definitely what I can feel. Now I know it's not wind it makes me smile :)

Queenofthehill I am also feeling big of bump this last couple of days. I was going to try to stay in normal clothes until I came off work tomorrow for Christmas but it just wasn't going to happen. I'm still managing to hide it with baggy cardigans but after the break I think it's time the bump made a public appearance at work.

Bubandbump · 23/12/2010 11:38

I have my abnormalities scan this afternoon followed by another cardiac scan. We had a nuchal of 4-5mm at 12 weeks and even though the cvs came back clear I am dreading / can't wait for this afternoon. It will be the best Christmas present ever if everything is ok.. The only thing that makes me feel better is that I am currently being kicked..Fingers crossed as I am so nervous!

Bubandbump · 23/12/2010 17:09

Yay we just got the all clear- everything is fine! Can't believe it! Bring on May...

chester21 · 23/12/2010 18:14

had our 20 week scan today and we are team blue!!!!!! bit surprised to be honest had it in my head i would be team pink,

all our little mans faculties are in order apart from one little thing during the scan they found a small amount of fluid in his lung, they have no idea what it could be but thety are hoping as am i that its a bit of this cold i have had on the up side though i do get another scan to check it out with a consultant and then discuss the results ond options we have. Has any one else had this at all or am i worring over nothing

dizzy77 · 24/12/2010 11:31

Labmonkey wanted to send thanks for the Erin O'Brien DVD recommendation: first go this morning and feel properly worked. There is not a "slightly sweaty face" smiley or I would use it!

Well done/good luck on all those scans this week, ours is 12 Jan busy wondering about the person inside.

Certainly feeling more bumpy this week, decided to make a point of looking pregnant whilst visiting family over the next few days. 19 weeks though: half way there! Terrifying...

LabMonkey · 24/12/2010 13:00

Glad you enjoyed it dizzy!

This morning Ziggy was definitely moving a lot when The Darkness came on the radio so it seems my love of classic stadium rock is genetic!

growing3rdbump · 26/12/2010 16:44

Hi all we had scan on Xmas eve and were treated to an extra long viewing while student 'had a go' before the radiographer took over! Pleased to report all looks fine and we're team pink again!

LabMonkey · 27/12/2010 15:12

In the shower this morning I got a really sharp pain at the bottom of my bump on the right side. It made me feel really sick and I ended up curled up on the bed in pain. I don't know if it was a pulled muscle or anything like that and it did go away in a couple of minutes - anyone else had anything like this. Also shortly after DH had his hand on my bump and we both felt the first proper kick - not just the bubbly feelings I've had so far! Ziggy seems ok as there's been plenty of movement and a few more kicks today so I'm not too worried just a bit bemused about the pain.

emmah194 · 27/12/2010 16:46

Labmonkey - it could be ligament pain. I've experienced it a couple of times, initially about 10 weeks and again at 21 weeks.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 27/12/2010 16:56

yy to big bump suddenly, although have banned DH from saying 'fat' Wink

LabMonkey · 27/12/2010 16:57

Thanks Emmah Ziggy is bouncing around like crazy so I'm guessing everything's ok. :)

brillopads · 28/12/2010 10:16

We had our 20 week scan on Xmas Eve too. All good (DH had a heart defect). However the sonographer didn't even ask if we wanted to know the sex? - but I wouldn't have wanted to find out anyway...

DH bought a couple of baby things (on sale @Gap) Grin I got some maternity leggings, which might have to be surgically removed the amount I've worn them over the last few days.

My 'bump' also seems to have become a lot more unmistakeable over these past few days. Lord knows what I'm going to wear for work when I go back ... we've been dressing down for what seems like the whole month of December due to the Extreme weather

LabMonkey · 28/12/2010 16:34

My bump is also now unmissable - I think after Hogmany I'll have to stop hiding it at work. I might just go for making it obvious rather than hiding.
