Hi everyone,
Thought I would start a thread for all us mums to be who are due in May 2011 so that we can support each other. xx

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Growing3rd bump, are you really me?? Thanks for understanding, feel like this pregnancy is not very popular at school as have already had 2 weeks signed off with nausea and vomiting. But as can't move, def can't sit for long and need help to go to the loo, really can't be there! Seems to be easing today, remembered that I had old back support from last pregnancy and that seems to be helping a bit.

Emmywoo, did you and dp agree on finding out sex? My dh and I can't agree this time, first time neither wanted to find out, second time both wanted to find out, this time, he does and I don't! We have till 21st to fight it out... Hope all goes well

growing3rdbump · 11/12/2010 09:19

First time we both wanted to find out, second time we didn't and this time we want to know again so can sort out the relevant clothing, bedroom situations etc!

Teasie · 11/12/2010 09:26

I have read a few other posts that you might find useful- the baby names forum is great and there is a brilliant post on what to bring to hospital. Also, a lady here has organized a meet up in central London, likely to be January if anyone would like to join

LabMonkey · 13/12/2010 20:09

I was running to work today (I only run on the days I'm in the London office) and after 5min I realised that the baby bouncing on my bladder was actually painful so I gave up. It's official I'm a few days off the 5month mark and running is off the activity list :(

I've got a really good pregnancy fitness dvd (it's proper makes you ache - in a good way - exercise) and I think I'll have to have a look at the local swimming timetable.

Is anyone else managing to still run?

brillopads · 13/12/2010 22:07

Was the Works Xmas Do on Friday. One stupid woman called me a "lightweight" for leaving at 8pm ish Shock She does know that I'm pregnant...

We're in the process of moving house & I was packing my summery clothes... they all look tiny and I feel like I might never fit into them again Sad Think I might have to make my first maternity-wear purchase this coming payday for some jeans/leggings/ work trousers/ anything to cover my lower half !

jellyhead188 · 14/12/2010 11:37

Hi - I am due 1.5.11 with my 3rd baby. had our scan on Friday all was well thankfully but couldn't decide if we wanted to find out the sex so they wrote it down and put it in an envelope for us and we haven't looked so far!

My SPD has kicked in just as the sickness wore off at about 18 weeks sadly!

Am excited about this baby but a bit fear and trepidation as have an easy nearly 6 year old but a difficult 3 year old!

chester21 · 14/12/2010 12:23

hi jellyhead188 i have my 20 week scan on 23rd december nad am going to ask if they can write it down for me so me and dp can open it jup on christmas day!!!!! although i am really nervous, and to top it all off i have the worst coughing cold in the world and it doesnt look like its going anywhere fast at all and i am stressing about xmas shopping as i still havent bought dp anything yet i think online shopping may be required here!!!!!!

brillopads · 14/12/2010 14:50

18 weeks tomorrow
Another symptom I keep getting is leg cramps in the night!!! Also I have no problem getting to sleep, but I often wake up in the night and have no option but to move into the front room - everyone knows the most annoying sound in the world is your OH happily snoozing away while you try to get back to sleep.

chester21 aww, the idea of writing down the sex to find on out Christmas day is V. cute! My 20-week scan is on Xmas Eve; personally I don't want to find out, but I think DH would

mojo1981 · 15/12/2010 16:13

We had our 20 weeks scan this morning, and we are having a girl!!

LabMonkey · 15/12/2010 17:44

Congratulations Mojo :)

pinkgirlythoughts · 15/12/2010 18:03

Hi again all! I had to admit for the first time yesterday that my work trousers won't actually fasten anymore, so I'm holding them together with safety pins until after Xmas holidays! I still don't really look as though I've got a bump though, just a bit chubbier than normal.
My 20-week scan is also on Xmas Eve- I don't know whether to be really excited, or absolutely terrified that it will show up some problem! I just want it to be done now, so I don't have to wait any more!

growing3rdbump · 15/12/2010 18:29

Congrats Mojo! Pinkgirly - I've got a bump now, but managing to wear normal skirt held together with a hair bobble which works really well!!!

Jellyhead - I'm also preg with 3rd baby. DD1 turned 7yrs in Oct and DD1 is 3.5yrs - he is quite a handful compared to DD!!! I'm just hoping I can get through the time between May and Sept when they will both be off at school during the day!

Labmonkey - I became very lazy since morning sickness and cold weather kicked in, so have done hardly any exercise recently let alone run anywhere! I am anticipating I'll get huge in this preg just as did with last two and it'll take me about a yr to lose the weight... but I will eventually get back to my old shape and weight (I hope!!!)

spud28 · 15/12/2010 21:03

Congrats to everyone who is having there 20 week scans. Im a newbe ! Im due 28th may so have to wait till Jan for my 20 week scan.

brillopads · 15/12/2010 23:14

pinkgirlythoughts we've been able to dress down in work due to the "Arctic" conditions, but these last few days my black jeans have been decidedly uncomfortably tight on the waist Sad I might have to start dressing back up again, to wear slightly more roomy dresses !

growing3rdbump · 16/12/2010 09:14

hmm, reread my post and realised I put second child down wrong - he is actually DS1.

BPrincess · 16/12/2010 19:39

Hello everyone! My very first post here, and due 30 May, so perhaps the very last one of the May group...

My first pregnancy, a total surprise (unplanned) and I'm 41, so really still getting my head around all this. All seems to be going fine so far. I'm 17 weeks right now, and 20 week scan booked in at the end of Jan.

Great to have a little group here to go to for advice!

jellyhead188 · 16/12/2010 19:51

growing3rdbump - my DD is much harder than my DS, like you I'm thinking of the may-september part when she starts full time school!!!

BPrincess - ah I'm 1st May so right at the beginning we're like top and tailing it!!! Though my DD came 2 weeks early so I'm wondering if I may end up in April!!

brillopads just started on the leg cramps, its awful isn't it - drinking a glass of tonic water before bed really helped me as did eating more bananas (they are NOT something I enjoy!).

chester21 - What a lovely idea to open it on Christmas day, I'm hoping we can hold out till the birth and open it once baby is born to see if they were right!!!

growing3rdbump · 16/12/2010 20:12

Brillopads I remember leg cramps and carpel tunnel syndrome with DD1. Was lucky not to get these symptoms with Ds1 though.

Jelly - DD1 is fairly easy really, but can be extremely stroppy a times - verging on teenage behaviour! DS1 is generally lovely (extremely loving and adorable), but also very boisturous and spends most of the day charging round the place!

At the moment I'm sitting here in loads of pain with my back- I've been getting pain in my lower back for a few weeks, which has become badly painful today on the right hand side especially. I can also feel the pain spreading down my right leg - Has anyone else been suffering with anything like this?

dizzy77 · 16/12/2010 20:31

Labmonkey what's the DVD? Had first baby/bump/bladder bounce during a Body Attack class last week not capable of doing low impact versions (what's the point) so think I will need to just spend more time in the pool...

LabMonkey · 16/12/2010 21:22

Hi dizzy the dvd I got from Amazon is "Complete Pregnancy Fitness with Erin O'Brien". It's a bit cheesy but for someone who normally only runs it's a reasonable workout. Doesn't get the heart pumping (but I hear that's bad) does get you sweaty (sorry TMI) and results in the good post exercise muscle ache the next day :)

It's also got an after birth setup as well.

dizzy77 · 17/12/2010 11:50

Thanks LabMonkey will give it a look. Aches are good things! Dxx :o

brillopads · 19/12/2010 19:49

I have had the enormo-stress of moving house these past few days. We've given our keys for the old place back to the landlord today Xmas Sad and it's finally starting to look ship-shape at the new one. However it's also bloody freezing! We've gone from a 1 bedroom flat to a 2-bed end terrace (room for baby hehe) but ugh, these old houses aren't half drafty. Also- not enough plug sockets !

DH is working nights tonight so I've my first night alone in the place!

LittleMilla · 19/12/2010 20:52

growing3rdbump I am 22 weeks now and saw a physio last week about my back/pelvis pains. Been told i have got SPD/PGP - whatever you call it!

You need to get a referral from your GP or midwife, but my physio lady was wonderful. I am about to go on holiday, but planning to start pilates in the new year.

I am feeling pretty fooked if I'm honest and really in a lot of pain for most of the day. But putting on a brave face as I feel that I am fit and healthy so should be pushing on through. I am just praying that the pilates will help as I cannot face another 4/5 months. Especially if it gets worse. I am normally a fairly fit and active person and this is dibilitating.

Sorry, enough from me. But yes, get yourself referred ASAP. x

Aloha everybody! I am due on Friday 13th May Confused - but already measure full term (and am ready to batter the next person who says "oooh, not long to go now!"). I am also already in a wheelchair with SPD! Does anybody else out there feel quite as unattractive as me at the moment Grin

NarcolepsyQueen · 20/12/2010 12:26

Aloha everybody! I am confused as there seems to be 3 threads all for May 2011 births! I am due on Friday 13th May Confused - but already measure full term (and am ready to batter the next person who says "oooh, not long to go now!"). I am also already in a wheelchair with SPD!
