How long did it take you to conceive?

Title says it all really! I (and a fair few of my pals) am not one of those, 'Whoospy I fell on a willy and got pregnant by mistake, how embarrassing!' wimmin. When you have been waiting a few months, it does rather feel as if absolutely everyone else gets pregnant by looking at a naked picture of Tom Hardy - but I'm sure that can't be the case.

I've therefore been thinking: you know, perhaps it just does take a while - for evolutionary purposes perhaps, to prevent the planet being over-run. Perhaps it can take a year or so not because there's something wrong, but because them's the breaks.

So to inform and reassure, I'd be really interested to know how long it took you to conceive, your age when you did so, and whether there were any medical factors that you knew of (including, and speaking as a plump lass myself, weight!).

I got pregnant on the first month of trying. It was over Christmas last year and I had me and dh on a military sex-every-other-day regime. I got my BFP two weeks later. I was shocked as hell, I really thought it would take months, but who knows, it could have been a fluke or it could have been luck.

Two things that may have helped a little: using PreSeed (fertility friendly lubricant) and laying down with a pillow under my bum for 30 minutes after sex to get the swimmers going!

I was a couple of pounds overweight when I conceived.

I was 23, only 8stone 5lb and told I would struggle to conceive. I'd been bleeding every day for 2 and a half years but using contraception all the way through.
Pretty much stopped using contraception when I was told I'd struggle to conceive and would need help. 2 months later I think I had a MMC (don't know how far gone I was but must've just been a few weeks). Then conceived 2 months later. I kept bleeding every day up until I was 7 weeks, then had on/off bleeding for another 7 or 8 weeks.
I think I may have conceived so easily because I was very relaxed (I was on a fabulous holiday, got engaged, then there was christmas and new year). I think being relaxed is a major part (easier said than done).

Took me 1 year, almost to the day, with this pg - currently just over 8 weeks.
I'm 27 and BMI is around 25/26 although increasing just about daily!!

I know it can be frustrating and was almost at the point of seeking medical advice myself had my AF not gone AWOL!!

Good luck to you :)
