As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

thanks hk, but it means getting to the shops for the cranberry juice also i'm not sure whether this is just a cold or something else as i'm coughing up green stuff (sorry tmi) and bits of blood. i can't eat as it actually makes me feel worse but i'm drinking loads of water. going to have a sit down again looking at computer screens making me worse.
didle - they only take blood tests in that hospital if they can't see the tubes properly and they suspect it's an ectopic.

HellKat · 30/01/2006 08:55

It sounds more viral than anything hun and the amount of crap that's flying around I'm not surprised you caught it (plus you've been run down).
rest up hun, keep drinking water. x

Gizmo · 30/01/2006 09:33

Morning everyone.

KK, sorry to hear you're having such a rotten time - do you get on with your HV? If you do, I wouldn't cancel her: she might be able to fight your corner and help you get a home visit from the doctor. If you have a nasty UTI, have they given you any antibiotics? I'm just recovering from a mild one, but the antibiotics work very fast - they made all the difference for me within a couple of days.

FirstNikki · 30/01/2006 09:41

Morning ladies -

HK - So sorry pleas accept my apologies I meant to have typed kk for 5+6 sorry for my hiccup

KK - I'm sure your next scan will be fine hun x lots of {{{hugs}}} to you. Have you told drs you are coughing blood??

Diddle - 21wks wow well done hope your cold buggers off soon

Well I am bouts of paranoia, putting it down to being pg and having to tell new bosses at some point and not looking forward to that as its not the best timing job wise.

Have a great day ladies and those under the weather get some rest where you can and take care. xxx

HellKat · 30/01/2006 09:45

lol hunny no need for apologies! After all you lose shed loads of braincells when you're pg! That's my excuse and I always stand by it

FirstNikki · 30/01/2006 09:47

lol thats my worry so please be prepared for a few more errrs from me whilst pg I mean no harm...must start proof reading everything

trix1 · 30/01/2006 09:50

KK - take some paracetomal, I had this cold last week and it was awful my head was spinning, my eyes were streaming it was awful but paracetamol is safe.

Has anyone considered getting signed off work for a while to get through the first few weeks of pg - I keep getting bad headaches and my family and friends say I should be taking it easy especially after the 3 m/c Ive had?

HellKat · 30/01/2006 09:52

I'm lucky I'm a sahm atm but if you feel you need to then I would. i know how exhausting it is. I feel extra wiped out with this pg due to the bleeding so thank goodness I'm not working.

petunia · 30/01/2006 10:07

Morning all,
KK- hope you're OK. Agree with Gizmo about not cancelling the H/V. She might be able to persuade your Dr to come and visit.

Mrs Maddyd- Glad you're doing well, was wondering how your pg was going.

I came off the iron tablets and feel a lot better (thanks to you lot for your advice!) But now, my left leg has swelled up! I'm Mrs Treetrunk- legs anyway at the moment but a few years ago I had an infection in that leg that affected the circulation and I think the pg has brought all that back on a bit. I'll see how it goes but I don't think a Dr can do anything, just tell me to put my feet up. So at least it gives me an excuse to do that!

Hope everyone else is well.

FirstNikki · 30/01/2006 10:08

trix1 if you feel you need time out then I would speak with your dr and get signed off hun x

FirstNikki · 30/01/2006 10:10

Hi Pet so pleased you are feeling better having come of the tablets. Sorry to hear of your swollen leg though if it doesn't ease off I would speak with your drx

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 11:46

feeling a little bit better now have just managed to eat some soup but still need to rest. cocodamol contains paracetamol and codein which are both safe in pregnancy but i just don't like to take medicines at this time although i really did need to. now got a sore throat and ear. i'm just glade i've purked up though. oh btw i was convinced the baby was to the right side of my womb (don't know why i just was!) but it turns out the sac was on the left. i'm hoping this pregnancy isn't going to be like this all the way through. i'm feeling much more hopeful that this baby is going to stick this time but i'm still a bit worried that my ill health might have done some damage to the baby.

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 11:50

oh i've not been given antibiotics but i don't want to take them now that i'm feeling a touch better (i know it's only been about two hours since i felt really ill but i just picked up a bit all of a sudden). i already cancelled hv and didn't call gp in the end as i just decided to see how it goes for now and i'm glade i didn't now.

trix1 · 30/01/2006 13:22

First Nikki - I did, I went to the docs this morning and got signed off for a week, I am just going to get plenty of rest now.I should be getting to the point where I start to get more energy soon.

We should do a who due when list on this thread as we are all at different stages.

Im due on 15/08/06

HellKat · 30/01/2006 13:26

Just slept for an hour but wish I'd stayed in bed. I wish i could guarentee that I'd have more energy by 12 weeks like I normally do but then again I've never had a pg like this before. Plus there's no sign of the bleeding stopping totally while my body's overfeeding babba! God it'll be a ten pounder while I end up around 6 stone lol.

edd 14/9/06

HellKat · 30/01/2006 13:28

Kk- so, so glad you're feeling better. x
Trix- Glad you got signed off. I'm taking things extra easy this time, not just cos I'm permanently knackered but really don't want this to end up as another statistic (mc no.5). You make sure you rest up hun x

trix1 · 30/01/2006 13:43

Are you signed off too HK? Make sure you do get plenty of rest, its just not worth the risk

HellKat · 30/01/2006 13:45

Lol wish I could be signed off, no one to sign you off when you're a sahm. Luckily dp's between jobs atm so he's been giving me a break in the afternoons so I can catch up on on needed sleep. But he's out job hunting today so I'll have to make the most of grabbing a nap while I can

FirstNikki · 30/01/2006 14:14

Afternoon

Trix good idea re stats for this thread. Glad you are getting some rest now

HK keep getting that rest where you can

My EDD at the moment is 03/10/06

petunia · 30/01/2006 14:33

KK- glad you're feeling a little better.
Trix1 and Hellkat- hope you're able to get some sleep. Those early weeks are just so tiring.

Good idea about the EDDs. Mine is 28/4/06 (although with DDs I was a week late with both, so I wouldn't go by that too much!)

trix1 · 30/01/2006 15:03

What about if I start this and then as people see it they copy and paste this and add their due dates.
