As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

FirstNikki · 29/01/2006 10:03

KK - how are you this morning are you going to the hospital?? Thinking of you hun and I hope you are ok xx and get some rest

HK - how are you today?

Hope everyone else is well x

You know reading that hk is 5+6 I am beginning to wonder if when I see mw my date will change. dr said 3rd oct (without looking he went on his dd due date), but 40 wks from lmp makes it 29/09 but using due date calculators they say due 29 or30 sept..hmmm I was 5 wks on friday counting from lmp guess only time will tell hey

mrsmaddyd · 29/01/2006 10:05

Nikki it will be accurate after your 12 week scan.

Congratulations and hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy xxx

FirstNikki · 29/01/2006 10:17

Thanks mrsmaddyd and congratulations to you too..9wks will you get another scan at 12 or 13 wks too?

mrsmaddyd · 29/01/2006 10:46

Usually at 12, i have my first midwife appointment on 8th Feb so it will be booked then. Its seems like years to get to this stage, bet your the same too??? Weeks drag dont they?

FirstNikki · 29/01/2006 10:56

yes it does seem like ages, mw booking in apt was so early last time cos of other medical conditions, so waiting for the call hoping it will be this wk so I can ask for early scan. and seeing we aren't telling anyone until we have had 12 wk scan (well if we can get away with that depending on size I get) its harder cos I keep going to say things which I have to stop myself.

HellKat · 29/01/2006 15:18

I'm great ta all, just so sleepy all the time.
Nikki- It's KK that's 5+6 (I think) lol I'm 7+3.
Maddy- I'm bleeding because basically long story cut short, my body's being way overprotective towards this pg and pumping everything I've got into it (means I'm not getting much) but because there's so much, that's why i'm having "periods". the excess it's a way of coming out. Baby's great for dates, has a very loud heartbeat (heard with a dopplar already) but I'm high risk mc catagory because of this bleeding. From now on I have to be scanned every 2 weeks and if there's more blood loss, then have bloods done then too. Needless to say it's one heck of a rollercaoster ride so far! but so far, this little girl (convinced it is) is a little fighter so she may well make it.

kreamkrackers · 29/01/2006 17:31

hi everyone hope you're all ok today. well i'm feeling like sh*t. the hospital scanned and could only find an empty sac but they think it's the size of a 5 1/2 week baby. so i have to go back in two weeks so they can hopefully find a heartbeat. they think i have some kind of infection and that's what's causing the pain and making me so ill. they wanted to keep me in over night as i nearly passed out a few times but i told them i couldn't (and i really don't like hospitals). they've sent me home with cocodamol so hopefully that will help me to feel better. the pain is really bad now but hopefully it is nothing to do with baby. also they did an external scan but next time want to do an internal, but i think they should do another external seems as they managed to see what they needed through an external but they know best i suppose.

HellKat · 29/01/2006 17:45

{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}
Hunny I was told at 5+6 that it was an empty sac and there was no sign of a fetal pole or anything. Lo and behold a week or so later there was a heartbeat. There's always hope. After all look at how much pain i was in and how bleeding there was.
If you need a chat hun my email is [email protected].
I'm here anytime.

diddle · 30/01/2006 07:56

KK - How you feeling today??? you must be beside yourself with worry i know i would be, especially if i had to wait 2 wks, couldn't they ahve done a blood test and got you back for another a couple of days later.

MrsMaddyd - so pleased everything is going well for you, believe me, i felt like it was dragging i can remember it especially at 9 weeks, and now i'm 21 wks, it will feel like its flown by.

hellkat - hope you're still feeling ok, and that you're not overdoing it, especially today

diddle · 30/01/2006 07:57

morning HK - i'm good thanks, apart from i've caught a flippin cold from the kids. Can't breath through my nose at all, which is a major pain as i was getting out of breath beofre but now its just ridiculous.

HellKat · 30/01/2006 08:03

Thanks dids hun but it's tomorrow lol. Poor you getting a cold now! my ds1 has just picked one up.
I'm feeling ok, still spotting but used to it now and got lovely af pains with it too. Just trying to hold out until next week. I hit 9 wks next Thursday and that's a big milestone, so not too long to go now.

diddle · 30/01/2006 08:13

HellKat · 30/01/2006 08:19

Lol! too funny hun.You don't have to. i can cheat and copy & paste

kreamkrackers · 30/01/2006 08:28

morning everyone. i'm feeling like sh*t again and dp can't get day off work to look after dd and he might be lucky if he actually gets a day off this week as the shop he works in is changing over i don't know how i'm going to cope today, another day of just playing with her toys and watching tv for dd so anyways i can't remember properly what i told you yesterday but they think i have some kind of water infection but we're waiting for the results to come back and i also have a very bad cold now. also last night i woke up and thought i could see the curtains coming towards me! i really think i'm losing the plot completely here. i'm going to try to see if gp will do a home visit for me today (but it's unlikely as our doctors don't like to do them). going to tell hv not to come this morning as the house looks like a bombs hit it. i don't really want to take medicines in pregnancy but i have no choice i need to get better for dd but i'm worried i'm doing the baby harm as i wouldn't even take paracetamol with dd. hope everyone else is having a better day then me.

HellKat · 30/01/2006 08:37

KK-{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} it definitely sounds like you're ill rather than anything sinister. Paracetemol's are perfectly safe hun. Main thing is getting you better. Try your gp but tbh, if it's just a virus all they tell you to do is drink plenty of fluids. Why don't you ring your mw and ask her what's the best thing to take. I know cranberry juice is fab for cystitis & water infections so try some of that (plus it's got vit c in it which will help you feel better too).
