As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

Good luck HellKat - hopefully the dice will fall in your favour.

Arabica · 26/01/2006 19:24

The very very best of luck HellKat. Thinking of you.
Gizmo, have just re-started exercising: got a new gentle gym workout with power-walking, cycling on the recumbent bike and cross-trainer, and some light weights. I'm only going to do it a couple of times a week and see how I feel then maybe add in a couple of vv gentle jogs! Using bike still but very slowly.
Slinkstah, if you've never done any running advice seems to be don't start in pregnancy, but if you've been used to doing it then it's fine so long as you don't hammer it so much you raise your inner temperature, as Gizmos said. People do run marathons when pregnant, it's all relative. I doubt I could do 10 mins at the moment but that's more to do with my injury and paranoia than any physiological reason...
hope everyone is OK and once again, love to HellKat.

going4potty · 26/01/2006 20:15

HellKat · 27/01/2006 08:10

Thanks so much all. Will let you know as soon as poss. Still bleeding pretty heavily and still in pain so who knows. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

diddle · 27/01/2006 08:18

Hellkat - stay positive, your time isn't up yet, i think baby wil be fine, snuggled up growing away, probably oblivous to anything else going on. I think with your endo this could be anything rather than the baby.
Still got good thoughts about you.
Please let us know how you go and in the meantime take it easy.

FirstNikki · 27/01/2006 09:27

Morning ladies...good luck hk will be thinking about you. xx

slinkstah · 27/01/2006 09:42

good luck this morning hellkat, will be thinking of you.

Gizmo · 27/01/2006 11:13

Hope it's going OK, HellKat

Arabica's on the button with the running thing, btw. The consensus is if you haven't been running regularly before pregnancy, it's not a great idea to take it up, but if you're already sad addict then it won't do too much damage, although it's best to keep your heartrate down and your outings short.

Sounds like your fitness is more than enough, A: unless you think you're going to enjoy running more than being in a gym I'd stick with the indoor stuff. You can make sure your ankle mends properly and not worry yourself.

However, I wouldn't listen to anything I say re health. I have now managed to contract a charming UTI and am cacking myself slightly because a severe UTI isn't the best thing to have this early on....

HellKat · 27/01/2006 12:17

Babba measures 7+1 exactly. Heartbeat loud & clear. Mw was amazed because it has 10 x the thickness surrounding it which means my body's decided to over protect her but the excess is causing the bleeding. Bad news is, I will become severely anaemic if it carries on and it poses high risk to mc. Have to be scanned every 2 weeks to check up on us but for the time being she's buried extra deep (compared to normal) with a vast amount of padding keeping her safe. Yep I do believe it's a girl!

FirstNikki · 27/01/2006 12:26

put on ttc thread too hk -

wow...hk thats great news you are doing fine and bubba is tucked up nicely. The anemia they can treat and the scans will be so reassuring. What makes you think baby is a she??

slinkstah · 27/01/2006 12:30

whoooooohooooooo hellkat tat is great i knew she was a sticker!!! i guess you will be on heavey duty iron tabs for the foreseeable future then
so glad you are going to get fortnightly scans to check all is ok.

munz · 27/01/2006 12:33

woohooo HK - i'm so pleased for u been following hopeful for u, apparently there's an extra 95% suscess rate once the hearts heard. can they put u on iron or something to help???

i'll be hoping/preying for u till u get to 12 weeks.

Arabica · 27/01/2006 12:35

HellKat! That's fantastic news. So pleased for you. Aren't scans great when it's good news! When mine showed a healthy pregnancy at 7 weeks I nearly kissed the sonographer.
Have had booking in appt today, my hospital don't listen for heartbeat until you are at least 16 weeks because they don't want to freak patients out when they can't find it. Midwife was lovely and supportive and said my age didn't mean I would need any extra appts and I could have shared care like a normal person!

HellKat · 27/01/2006 12:42

Thanks so much all.
Well done Arabica!!!
She was so amazed at how strong it was, even on the dopplar it sounded like a pg further along.
Not on iron tablets yet, got to wait for blood results. But it's one hurdle out of the way.

petunia · 27/01/2006 14:16

Hellkat- that's wonderful news. And Arabica too, sounds like you had a good appt. What a nice way to end the week!

Arabica · 27/01/2006 15:26

Yes--little milestone after little milestone. My next one is valentine's day. That's the day last year I found out I had miscarried. So DH better buy me a big pressie, cos I know I will be sad that day.

HellKat · 27/01/2006 15:55

Awwww will be thinking of you then hun.
Had a lie down but could'nt sleep so think it'll be an early one for me.
Dp's being a protective soul as always, cooking all of our dinners, doing dishes etc bless him, he won't let me lift a finger today. The other day he cleaned the kitchen top to bottom and made a better job of the floor than I did! i'm a lucky gal. I'm definitely feeling more of an incubator atm than a pg woman lol but don't care how rough i feel nor tired as long as my body keeps doing it's job and protecting this babba.

FirstNikki · 27/01/2006 15:58

sending you thoughts for Valentines Day Arabica x

HK - your dp sounds great you keep resting and looking after the two of you xx

HellKat · 27/01/2006 16:04

He's a sweetheart. i'm very lucky and he's so relieved. Forgot to say earlier, we got a scan pic too! Can't see much but it's there.

FirstNikki · 27/01/2006 16:10

I can't wait to see mw and get things in full swing. I know its early days yet but last time I went drs straight away same as this time and was called up the next day for mw apt the very next wk and no sign yet just want to see her so can pester for early scan for a little reassurance.
