As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

Hi all,
Glad all well and especially glad that HK is very much still amongst us!
Today was my due date for the baby that didn't make it. I'm aware of today, if you know what I mean but am so relieved that I'm now pg again (17 weeks today) that this has really made the significance of this date much easier to deal with.
Haven't been onthe thread much so apologies if I'm missing any huge pieces of news and failing to comment on them!

FirstNikki · 25/01/2006 09:52

slink well done on your presentation and assignments

HK - gald you feeling ok and my thats some growth

Spub thinking of you today and wishing you a healthy pg x

Gizmo · 25/01/2006 11:43

Morning all!

I got a quite faint but positive test on Sunday. No other symptoms at the moment so I'm don't really believe I'm pregnant to be frank.

However, I'll test again next weekend and if I get a stronger positive then I guess I'm in for an embarrassing discussion with the doctor. Now normally I'm a good girl where doctors are concerned, but after my miscarriage in December I've been a bit wilfully neglectful about contraception. Result is I've had no AF, and therefore dating this pregnancy is a bit of a challenge.

Obviously I'd like to get a scan to 1) make me believe this pregnancy is real 2) help date the pregnancy roughly for a later nuchal scan. It's going to be embarrassing asking for one, though : I have a vision of the doctor looking at me and saying 'well if you'd just used contraception, then we wouldn't be having this conversation, would we?'.

Bah. I'm not afraid of doctors but I do hate being in the wrong

FirstNikki · 25/01/2006 11:46

good luck gizmo with the second test, but a line is a line at least you are prepared for the drs

kreamkrackers · 25/01/2006 11:54

can't you assume you're about 4 weeks from when you got your bfp? i'm not sure but i think that might do until you get your dating scan.

Arabica · 25/01/2006 11:56

Great news Gizmo! Keep us posted.

Gizmo · 25/01/2006 12:17

'A line is a line'

Yeah, you're right Firstnikki - I'm not sure why I don't believe it. Maybe don't want to get too excited about things in case it all goes wrong again.

diddle · 25/01/2006 12:29

Hellkat - so so good to see you being positive, i have a good feeling about you and baby.

Slink - thats great news about your assignment, well done. Lucky you still in your normal clothes, you are slim though and small boned, that will make a difference, you could two of you in my jeans . How are you feeling at the moment, pregnancy wise.
My boobs have ballooned too, and have ben itchy over the last week or two so i think they're having another spurt, i really need to get a new bra, but i want to go to a John Lewis for it and they're and hour away. Maybe i'll make it there on sunday.

Spub - this must be a tough day for you. My due dates have passed now, but on Monday coming it will be a year since i miscarried by first, and it is very veyr much in my mind, having this baby on the way i'm sure will make it easier, but i am still very sad at the idea that baby number 1 could be here now. I hope you're doing alright, and enjoying your growing baby, well done for getting to 17 weeks.

Congrats Gizmo - a line is a line, you're preggers!!!

HellKat · 25/01/2006 12:51

Thanks all.
Spub- {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}} thinking of you today hun.
Welcome Gizmo!

spub · 25/01/2006 13:28

Cheers, First, Diddle and HK.
It's great that we have all made the leap to here from the ttc thread. I really hope that some of our old mates from there arrive here soon, too.
Diddle - hope Monday is ok for you. It is weird having these milestones for babies who aren't here or coming, isn't it?
Congrats and welcome to Gizmo!

Gizmo · 25/01/2006 14:45

Thanks hellkat, diddle, spub.

Think I might have spoken too soon about the symptoms, since I am sitting here feeling distinctly greeeeeeennnnnnn now.....

FirstNikki · 25/01/2006 14:53

he he gizmo...join the club ..I had my morning dose of probiotic drink and folic and along came the heaving, turned to dh and said "here we go" he is now waiting for the rush to the bathroom all the time...trying to keep it unnoticed It is kind of reassuring though don't you think in a twisted sort of way??

HellKat · 25/01/2006 15:04

I'm so lucky regarding ms. But my poor boobs are killing me (feels like I've been punched), got chronic wind pains , heartburn and insane cravings. Going nuts for rollmops and cherries atm (not together though ). God I loovvveeeeeeeeee being pg again

FirstNikki · 25/01/2006 15:14

errrm whats a rollmop??

diddle · 25/01/2006 16:07

Nikki - a roll mop is either one of these

rollmop

rollmop2

FirstNikki · 25/01/2006 16:11

slinkstah · 25/01/2006 16:36

spub- hope your ok today

diddle-again- the dreaded 1st aniversary is approaching, i hope you will be ok. i am not looking forward to mine, i will be 35 weeks then so it will be weird.

Firstnikki- glad your puking hun hope its not too bad though, i am very lucky and have not had sickness, i hate being sick though.

HK- again- omg rollmops lol

Arabica · 25/01/2006 16:40

I love rollmops! But not when I am pregnant. Couldn't eat one now, no way.

HellKat · 25/01/2006 16:46

Lol went and got two more pots of them
I like them normally but my god they taste delish atm! Could'nt face the pizza I bought so today my diet's consisted of:
marmite on toast,
Homemade smoothie, banana, blueberries & cherries,
rollmops,
1 slice of pizza,
whole bag of cherries,
box of Oreo cookies

Oh dear

slinkstah · 25/01/2006 16:51

Thats better than me HK my diet today has consisted of
2 slices of toast and butter
half a cheese sandwich which tasted yuk hence i only ate half
5 biscuits

i must go shopping and get some healthy food!

HellKat · 25/01/2006 16:56

Aww hunny you need to eat more. Says me who pigged half of Sainsburys in one go!
Ohhh I can feel the weight a piling on.

FirstNikki · 25/01/2006 16:56

good to see all are in good spirits...still thinking about those rollmops...hmmm

HellKat · 25/01/2006 16:57

But think I burned it all off (not the whole box of cookies though). Had two long walks and did some wonderful gentle yoga stretches and squats this morning to get my pelvis nimble. Oo er!

FirstNikki · 25/01/2006 16:59
