As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

Slinkstah- wonderful news, sounds like you're getting good care now, and seeing Lesley Regan as well. She's written lots of mc books hasn't she?

Diddle- what a shame you only got a quick look at the baby. With DDs, I only got a quick look at the end. The 20wk scan this time is the only time they've had the screen facing me.

Well, I've been put on iron tablets. I had a hot flush this morning and made an appt with the Dr but he said that my iron levels were fine (from the blood test I had last week with the midwife) but he said my white blood cell count was up. He thought that this was probably in response to having a sore throat or cold last week. The hot flush this morning was probably a virus/bug being releaased into my system. So he prescribed iron tablets and said it doesn't hurt to have them, especially as my iron level in previous pregnancies usually dips from about now anyway.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

How was the meetup slink?

I had to take DS to A&E this afternoon, he has been suffering stomach pains on and off since Christmas, ( we have a pead appointment in two weeks) today at about 12.30 he went to the toilet and opened his bowels and passed BLACK STOOLS, I freaked and took him straight to hospital. He wasnt suffering in any other way. But obviously he has had an internal bleed of some kind. Took him to hospital, they examined him, took a blood test etc and sent us home (after about four hours) we just had a doctor call and told us he blood test results are normal, so that means that he is not continuing to bleed , not aneamic etc. SO we are fine to go to New York on Monday. HE seems fine in himself, is happy , energetic eating etc. So we still have no idea what is going on.

Glad your ds is ok, i would have done the same by getting him checked out especially as travelling on monday.
the meetup was fun, had a nice meal and a small glass of wine- ok 2 small glasses. met peepee, diddle, coathanger and mygirl- they're all lovely. I was late to arrive! i live in london and i was late- how rubbish is that!
anyway we will have to meet up again soon. i found my old maternity jeans and wore them today, and i had a small bump whoooooooH

FirstNikki · 22/01/2006 10:21

Morning, thanks for the welcomes still having the weird dreams and sleep pattern not got much of an appetite though have a feeling of bloatiness all the time.

Cori, sorry to hear your ds has been poorly hope he ok today and good luck with the pead apt. My mc was Nov '05, had first af in dec 23rd, then tried this month...we got caught first time with 1st pg on our honeymoon, and this time lucky too...so just hoping this one sticks..

Slink nice to hear you had some good support at your last visit to the fetal med centre..I bet you feel much better now having the scans etc.. and that you enjoyed the meet up

kreamkrackers · 22/01/2006 10:43

i've had loads of weird dreams too, i didn't sleep well last night but i did dream about a blood clot! i think i'm going to have to pull myself together and eat a bit healthier. every other night we've ordered in as i am soooo tired at night (also dp can't cook to save his life!) so i think it's a sign to get back to good health and i do feel bad not eating as well as i usually do when it's more important than ever now. i can't face going on the scale right now

slinkstah · 22/01/2006 11:08

Ive had loads of awful dreams, probably all related to my anxiety about this pregnancy. i think it's normal, im sure they will pass when you get passed your last mc in weeks.

ive been struggling to eat healthily too, i have so many deadlines and work for uni to finish this week, the kitchen looks and smells disgusting! i must tackle it today.

FirstNikki · 22/01/2006 11:16

yeah, my dreams are all about hotels, sunami's, and lifts and I can't find my way out but in the end I do, oh and had one about dh ex trying to tell me how to bring my child up! lol as if

diddle · 22/01/2006 15:06

cori - so glad your DS is ok, we were a little worried about you.
The meet-up was good, shame you couldn't make it, we'll have to have another. Its lovely having met everyone you can now put faces to the names that pop up on the screen.

cori · 22/01/2006 16:29

Diddle, it is a shame we didnt get to meet, let me know next time you are in London.

Slink, maybe we can meet up one day. I am starting my maternity leave in March, so will be a free woman (cant wait) I know the Ladbroke grove area well. (Have worked around there for years)

DS appears Ok, but still is complaining of tummy pains on and off. Took a stool sample to Peadatrics this morning, they seemed to think it is definetly not blood but a 'green poo' ick. So we are back to the drawing board. We have no idea what is wrong with him, it is so worrying. Am also worried about going on this holday, but as the doctors said there is nothing to suggest anything else is wrong, and he seems happy and energetic then there is no reason to cancel. I just hope we sort this out soon.

Congratulations FirstNikki!
Glad to hear DS is OK to travel, Cori. I hope his tummy is all right for all the lovely food in NY.
I'm now 12+3, and having lots of nausea, it seems to be getting worse instead of better. I am sure all the anxiety is contributing. Nothing seems to make any difference, eating/not eating, it still feels the same.
More like Green Tea than a nice aromatic Arabica!

Arabica · 22/01/2006 16:35

Cori, maybe a homeopath could help--it won't do him any harm. Can recommend someone if you don't mind travelling to N16.

cori · 22/01/2006 17:12

Cheers Arabica, once we get a diagnosis then we may give it a go.

connyflower · 23/01/2006 11:37

Arabica · 23/01/2006 11:43

Connyflower, the very, very, very, best of luck to you! I absolutely know where you're coming from as I absolutely dreaded my 12 wk scan too, but luckily all was fine. I've got everything crossed for you. I'm 12+5.

connyflower · 23/01/2006 12:19

the way i am feeling right now i'm thinking of not going... no news good news n all that am i being silly

diddle · 23/01/2006 13:10

firstnikki - i'm due the 8th of June, sounds like a long time, but the more i look at my calender i realise how close it is getting.

connyflower - you're not mad to feel worried, especially after what you've experienced in the past, i would definitly go for the scan though, you can see our healthy growing baby and will come out reassured. It will be worth it!!!!

FirstNikki · 23/01/2006 13:21

Hi connyflower, understand your worries, but going will put your mind at rest and you will get the chance to see baby too...and sleep better tonight....all the very best...I would def go.

Diddle - yes it will soon be here in 5 months!! or just under
