As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

Slink- the hospital really seem to be looking after you. Glad you were able to have a scan.

jinglediddle · 20/12/2005 16:47

excellent news slink, so glad baby is ok, and sounds a good size too. excellent. sounds like it was a positive visit.

Trix - i'm in stourbridge, there is a private clinic in solihull that do private scans in early pregnancy for £50. they are fabulous and if you are ever worried they will try and fit you in as soon as you can.

private scans

jinglediddle · 20/12/2005 16:48

petunia - excellent news from you too, its lovely seeng baby isnt it. fancy having to wake poor thing up

trix1 · 20/12/2005 20:12

Hi Guys - bleeding / spotting has stopped. The rational part of me feels it was too little to be of a concern but because of the previous m/c's its hard not to panic.

Scan tomorrow but as I mentioned earlier I doubt there will be a heart beat yet

Slink and Petunia glad your scans went well today.

Last night and tonight I have come in from work and slept for two hours and I am still tired Im going to head to bed soon

I should be niping out getting last minute shopping but I am exhausted - which as frstrating as it is its a good sign I hope.

I will let you know how I get on tomorrow my appt is at 12.00

xmasspub · 21/12/2005 07:48

wishingchair · 21/12/2005 13:50

excellent news trix - must be a relief for you.

Got my first scan tomorrow - I'll be 7+1. Am hopeful they'll be able to see something.

trix1 · 21/12/2005 14:37

Wishingchair you should see a lot more than I seen today at 7 weeks - good luck for tomorrow.

slinksanta · 21/12/2005 15:27

excellent news trix i bet you are relieved, bleeding could have been implantation bleed coming out bit later. Midwife said thats what my bleed was at 11 weeks.

lunavix · 21/12/2005 15:49

Hi everyone.... I'm pg but no idea about dates, I'd imagine about 5 weeks but haven't a clue.

I'm panicking.. I'm being a little silly and possibly shouldn't be here (my last pregnancy was ds and therefore not a mc) but before him I had four mc and I've had really strong pains for the last 2 weeks. The doctor is 'writing' to the hospital to book a scan (haven't they heard of a phone?????) but I'm just waiting and obsessing till I have this scan and find out if everything is okay. Then I'm going to have to buy a doppler as in my last pregnancy I was at the hospital every 5 minutes worrying and I can't this time as we moved and it's too far away!

jinglediddle · 21/12/2005 17:20

trix - fantastic, so thrilled they found a heartbeat for you. thats excellent so early on.

lunavix - totally understand your worry, i was the same, still ahve loads of aches and pains and my dopple ris a godsend i would definitly get one. sure all will be fine and you will be totally reassured.

congratulations Aprilgirl - fantastic news. we wondered where you were, ater seeing you on the ttc after miscarriage thread. so pleased you have some positive news.

Snowballstrike · 22/12/2005 10:21

Can I barge in too? I've been trying desperatly to be all cool and laid back about this pg, but I'm only at 5 wks and I'm already scared! I M/C at 7 weeks last time, so every twinge at the moment has got me convinced it's all going wrong. I woke up in the night with what felt like really bad cramps, but I was sleepy and ignored it. I feel ok today, but everything is a bit tender. It felt more like wind than anything else, has anyone else had lots of wind like cramping but been ok?

jinglediddle · 22/12/2005 10:25

strike- have had lots of cramping and weird pains, and actually much earlier on, i had what you had, where you wake up with immense pain, and i'm sure it was wind, baby was fine. the odd twinges etc are fine. I have even had paisn that i remember i had with the miscarriages and now have come to realise that they are normal parts of pregnancy and not signs of a miscarriage. It is totally normal for you to be worried and anxious, especially coming up to the time when you miscarried before. But there is no reason for this pregnancy to end the same way, i'm sure you wil be fine! stay positive and enjoy this as much as you can. remember we're always here to offer support.

Snowballstrike · 22/12/2005 11:15

Thanks Diddle. Good to see everyone supporting each other so well on here, it really helps with the extra stress, poor old DH can only take so much

petunia · 22/12/2005 14:02

Strike- I had the same thing too. I managed to get to see the midwife for an early booking-in appt when I was about 7wks pg. She said that having wind/going to the loo a lot and having cramping pains was normal. She said it was a good sign that everything was growing and stretching. It all usually leaves off around 12 wks (I found it was about 8-9wks) when everything lifts out of the pelvis.

slinksanta · 22/12/2005 17:47
