As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

uups sorry, must have missed that post when you found out the sex, congrats on having a boy, so have you bought any blue yet? how pg were you when you found out the sex, do you think they will beable to tell me at booking if they scan me ill be 14/15 weeks or is that still a bit early to tell.

jinglediddle · 13/12/2005 12:19

slink - i have read that you get your antiD jab between 28 and 29 wks, so don't think you've missed it.

jinglediddle · 13/12/2005 12:21

can't find baby today on the doppler yet. Think it must be hiding from me. will try again soon. not worried though, sometimes they do hide don't they?

trix1 · 13/12/2005 12:25

Hello - I am Rhesus Negative as well, I thought if you have any bleed that you should have the anti d injection and if you have no bleed then you have the anit d after the birth. Oh am I just confused but I really thoought if you had any bleed you must have a anti d. Do you think it might be worth ringing the hosp just to check?

slinksanta · 13/12/2005 13:16

well i finally got through to hospital and they want me to call the drs in the emergency gyny place, so i have their number.
i now have to go see my dd's school play she is a star. hope i get a good seat

Arabica · 13/12/2005 16:37

Hi everyone, good luck for tomorrow, Cori! My first scan is tomorrow as well and I am really nervous. Unfortunately, the school where DH works in Hertfordshire is re-opening tomorrow, so he can't come to hospital with me. I know I will have all your good vibes though.
BTW, I am RH-ve as well and had my jab at 28 wks when expecting DS.

coribells · 13/12/2005 16:46

Diddle, dont worry, think they just get into different positions and it is not so easy to find them. I couldnt find mine last week either.

Slinksanta- I think it is too early for you to find out yet. They cant tell usually tell until 18 weeks. I already have a loft full of blue clothes as I have a DS already. So am sorted on that front

coribells · 13/12/2005 16:47

Arabica, good luck tomorrow. WHat time is your scan?

slinksanta · 13/12/2005 18:09

good luck with your scans cori and arabica

Thats handy having boys clothes already, i have none as dd and ds are old now and baby clothes all went to charity years ago. I can't wait to start buying although will probabley not even think about that until im in the 3rd trimester- very paranoid this pg you see- although if i get past 24 weeks i will be throwing a party and i might treat myself to a glass of wine

i think the ante-d they give you when you are 28 weeks is a just in case type of jab and should be offered not compulsory, you actually only need it after childbirth, bleeding or amnio/cvs.
i am going to just wait and see and hope i havent made antebodies.

dd's play was great! she was a star and it was a proper nativity but with funky songs like angels by robbie williams. Its the first time the school has dared do a nativity as it's a non denom school and the arabic mums will probably go mental about it, but i thought it was great
ds's play is tommorrow and thats about the xfactor and strictly come dancing!

petunia · 14/12/2005 10:01

Cori- hope your scan went well and Arabica, good luck with yours.
Slink- excellent school plays! Nice to see ones that are a bit different.

Arabica · 14/12/2005 10:06

going for scan now, will come back later to share results.

Arabica · 14/12/2005 12:41

Scan was good! A blurry little shape pulsating away like a frog on a lily pad. However, when the nurse looked at my file she discovered that I miscarried at 9 weeks last time, not 4-6 as I had thought. So I have to go back at 10 wks for another scan; then, because of my age, I have to go to the fetal medicine unit for my 12 wk scan & they will probably advise me to have CVS/amniocentesis. So I think I will be rivalling Cori for scan-time, this pregnancy.
Hope everyone else having a good day.

walkinginawinterBundleland · 14/12/2005 12:42

oh arabica, what lovely news. everything crossed for you over here, x

coribells · 14/12/2005 12:50

I have had my final scan today. Am 20 weeks tomorrow so today was the anonamly scan all is well. I now go on to standard appointments for the rest of the pregnancy. I am going to continue to see my consultant for all my appointments at the hospital. I am glad about this because I dont want to see a new midwife everytime and have to explain my background.
We also talked about my birth plans. With DS i was 2 weeks overdue, had an emergency ceaserean as a result of failed induction. Basically she said I could have what ever I want. If I want to have an elective ceaserean then she will do that, If I want to try for VBAC then she will support me in that as well. I am in two minds myself. There are advantages of both ways IMO but I am glad in the end it will be my choice.
The only thing I know I dont want is to be induced again. It seems that is out of the question anyway. I think for I would not want to go more than one week overdue, If i do then I will probably go straight for an elective ceaserean.

petunia · 14/12/2005 12:54

Arabica and Cori- excellent news from your scans.

coribells · 14/12/2005 13:24

Arabica, I am glad to see it was good news at the scan and not twins after all.
Having lots of involvement of the medical team had made me feel very reassured this pregnancy. How many weeks are you now? When is the date of your next scan?

Are you going to see Chanuka lights this year? When are you planning to go? Would be nice to meet up if we can.
That reminds me must make DH find the candle thingy ( whats it called?)

Arabica · 14/12/2005 14:27

Am 7 weeks today! Yes, we will be seeing the lights again, first day is Xmas day so we'll probably go on about day 4 or 5. We're going to a kids' Hanukah party on Sunday in Northwood where they are going to explain the festival to the kids so I'll be an expert by then.
Here's a Hanukah site

coribells · 14/12/2005 15:53

Sounds like a good thing to do between Christmas and Newyear. Let me know if you want to meet. We will probably have dinner somewhere in Golders Green afterwards.

Arabica · 14/12/2005 19:12

Will email you if I still have your address.

coribells · 15/12/2005 18:35

Am feeling good today. I had my hands resting on my tummy as I woke up this morning. I could feel the baby moving around from the outside. So pleased. On a more annoying pregnancy symptom front though I seem to have constant heartburn/ indegestion, and my back hurts even if I am wearing flat shoes etc. What Joy, I can see the next 20 weeks are not going to be easy.

Arabica · 15/12/2005 19:17

Have emailed you Cori!

petunia · 16/12/2005 12:08

Cori- I felt the baby move from "the outside" yesterday as well. It's weird really because at the moment when I've been rushing about, I don't feel pregnant at all. It's only when I'm sitting or lying down that I can feel movements.

coribells · 17/12/2005 16:39

I have just seen a thread about Spacecadet. She has lost her baby, 23 weeks. I am so sad about this, she was such as support to me after my miscarriage. I am so shocked.

jinglediddle · 19/12/2005 11:18

oh no cori - i remember her too, how sad. will try and fnd the thread. is it in mc and bereave?

slinksanta · 19/12/2005 11:43

23 weeks is a horrible time to lose your baby babys survive from 24 weeks, but 23 weeks they are not given a chance i can't bring my self to post anything on the thread, i will later.

I have my booking appointmnent tommorrow, although i have not got any letter confirming this, so i am trying to call them to double check! i am very nervous and dunno how i will tell my history without crying hysterically, i get stressed in hospitals. i am suppose to be taking dp with me but am wondering whether he will be any use, he doesn't seem to undertand why i am so nervous about it.
