As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

I can't stand all this anxiety. Keep nervously checking my symptomsslight nausea, feeling bloated, horrid hair, sore boobsall good signs--v slight brownish discharge (sorry if TMI)...not sure. Anyone else had this? You couldn't call it spotting, but it could be very diluted blood.

xmasspub · 06/12/2005 09:03

Could be a little bit of an implantation bleed which is a good sign.

jinglediddle · 06/12/2005 09:41

arabica - i had a little bleed like this at around 7 wks and all was fine, its very common, even quite a lot of blood is common, if you get any pains or its gets much heavier or turns red, i would definitly get it checked out, for your own piece of mind, but it doesn't sound like anything to worry about, keep smiling.

slinksanta · 06/12/2005 09:46

aw arabica, i know the anxiety is horrible, i reckon the spotting sounds like implantation bleed, if it is so light/diluted then its something that you probably wouldn't notice if you weren't so anxious about this pg.
i must have done about 6 tests to check i was still pg up until 6 weeks
i still have a long way to go before i get past the time where things went wrong last time, i am counting the days using this

xmasspub · 06/12/2005 09:59

Wow! Slink I have just looked at the preggy bellies and mine isn't as bad as it could be! Some of those gals are huge at 9 weeks!!!

slinksanta · 06/12/2005 10:03

i'm not showing at all i guess im only 11.4 but hoping to see a small bump there soon, i only show in the evenings when ive eaten too many pies

jinglediddle · 06/12/2005 10:16

slink - we're alll different, my belly is massive, some peoples are, and others stay small until much later, don't let it worry you slink.
love that site.

Wills · 06/12/2005 11:00

I went and got my maternity clothes out because I feel so big but fortunately I'm nowhere near . I have a very very distinct bump but am still at the point of looking fat not pregnant. Slink don't rush to look big - my gp spent all of dd2's pregnancy asking me if I was sure I wasn't carrying twins. It still hurts to be called fat even if you're pregnant instead.

Aracabia - i had exactly that. Unfortunately the signs of pregnancy are the same as the start of miscarriage. Awful but true. As diddle says if it turns bright red get it checked out.

Diddle where are you up to now? I know Cori's way out there leading the way and must be something like 18?? but I've lost track of you and spud

Wills · 06/12/2005 11:01

Spub - what preggy bellies???

xmasspub · 06/12/2005 11:15

Hey wills! I think Diddle must be about 13/14 weeks? She's on the June thread. My EDD is 7 July and I'm going to be 10 weeks on Friday.
Re the preggy bellies - you have to follow the ling from slink, enter your due date, click calculate and then click on the week of your pg. Go to the bottom of that page and there's a heading Ultrasounds and pictures. Click the 2nd link and compare bellies with women at the same stage as you!(if I was good at this I'd do you a linkbut I'm crap!)
HTH

Wills · 06/12/2005 12:50

cheers spub. Blimey! I see what you mean. and there was I secretly thinking I was huge because its number 3 (hopefully). I feel positively lithe now. Thanks.

xmasspub · 06/12/2005 13:37

Scary, huh?
I can't wait to actually look pg and wear my bump with pride rather than just look like a bloater!

jinglediddle · 06/12/2005 13:49

you're right spub - i'm 13+4 today

coribells · 06/12/2005 14:43

Yes I am 18+5. Do you think we should have stats thread. I get lost too.

Arabica · 06/12/2005 16:46

Thanks for all the good wishes! I like this pregnancy site which has lots of useful info and you can get a weekly email with info on baby's development.

Wills · 06/12/2005 20:50

OOOOOHHHHH. My doppler's arrived and I've just heard little one's heartbeat.

slinksanta · 07/12/2005 11:54

whoo wills thats great was heart beat quick to find?
sometimes my baby can take a while to find with the doppler but baby is still so small as i am only 11.5 weeks. how many weeks are you ?
i could not find the HB last night, i went for a wee and tried again and found baby straight away, i thought having a full badder was suppose to lift your uterus up not hide it.

Wills · 07/12/2005 12:01

I'm 16+3. Yes found it straight away. I can often feel where baby is with my hands so I sort of knew where to put it.

jinglediddle · 07/12/2005 14:12

wow wills - must have more of a feel to see what i can find, my doppler arrived this morning, babies heartbeat was there chugging away. got me all excited. took a few mins to find, but i had no idea what i was doing really.

Wills · 07/12/2005 14:56

I have hard patches which then move out of the way.

coribells · 07/12/2005 20:47

I had quite a lot of difficulty to find the heartbeat until 15 weeks, but now I always find it within a few seconds. DO you guys have one with a display? I found myself picking up other sounds that I could have confused with the heartbeat. Babies heart beat is always around 140bpm.
I had another scan today, baby is certainly getting bigger. I could see him quite clearly. I have my anomnaly scan next week, have started to get a bit nervous about that actually. With DS i barely thought about what it meant, but now I am aware of the unfortunate possibilites.

I also asked for a referral for physio today, my back pain is getting worse. If I wear even the slightest heal i can barely walk more than a few meters. Not a good sign this early on.

petunia · 08/12/2005 10:59

Morning all.
Just seeing how everyone is. Been a bit busy lately. DD1 has got yet another cough/cold. Poor thing, her cough was so bad Tuesday pm, she was pulled off the stage at her Christmas concert 5 mins before the end.

Cori- glad your scan went well. My anomoly scan is in 2 weeks time and I'm inbetween dreading it and looking forward to it. I'm getting a bit of backache, especially in the morning when I've just got out of bed. My hips really ache as well.
Anyone else still get cramps? I find at the end of the day, I get them.

Glad everyone's getting on well with their Dopplers. Not sure I've got the courage to buy one. Part of me is still doing the "digging the head in the sand" attitude! I think I'm now either 19+6 (going by last scan) or 19+4 (by LMP). I prefer the scan one because by Friday it's the end of another week and it's a few more days extra as well!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Arabica · 08/12/2005 11:04

I've just booked an early scan--can't believe how easy it was. Simply rang hospital and said I was anxious and they said I could come next Weds when I will be 7wks! No need even to see GP first.

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 08/12/2005 11:38

Arabica, just seen this, what great news. I am so pleased for you. Hope all goes well at your scan. I know the relief at my first scan (6 wks), when we saw a heartbeat, was immense.

I hope you are back on the decaf!

mojomummy · 08/12/2005 12:30

Hi Arabica, that's great news

  • I'm just joining if that's ok...

I am 6 weeks today. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage in August & my hospital won't do scans. My doctor is writing to the ultrasound dept though, requesting I get a scan at 10 weeks. Not much help at the mo though, as I had a missed miscarriage 1t 8 weeks.

Obviously I'm feeling very anxious, particulary as there was no growth for 3 weeks.
