As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

yeh thats a good point cori. baby will be fine x

petunia · 30/11/2005 09:54

Morning all,
Hope everyone's well.
I'm feeling really rough today. After the stomach bug, DD1 has now got a stinking cold and has been up half the night coughing (one reason why I feel rough!) I really shouldn't have sent her to school today and I'm expecting them to ring any moment to go and collect her. I'll be really surprised if she lasts the whole day.

I thought I was over the tummy bug but I still feel sick and tummy doesn't feel right. So I'm going to spend the day curled up on the sofa!

coribells · 30/11/2005 10:33

Diddle you really are so positive and i think we all need to remind ourselves that just because we have had bad experiences doesnt mean they will happen again.

I have a scan this afternoon, will report back later.

jinglediddle · 30/11/2005 13:32

cori - good luck good luck good luck, hope the scan is great, and little baby waves at you.

xmasspub · 30/11/2005 13:39

Good luck with the scan, Cori!

petunia · 30/11/2005 13:59

Hope the scan goes well, Cori.

coribells · 30/11/2005 14:46

Hi,
am back from the scan. Baby still growing well measuring 18 wks+2 days. I asked if they would tell me the sex at 20 weeks. She said offered to have a look today. She thinks it is most probably a boy

CALLING ALL THOSE LADIES WHO HAVE FREQUENTED THE TTC AFTER A MISCARRIAGE THREAD AT SOME TIME

Sorry for the rather rude gatecrash, but I am trying to arrange a meet up in LOndon for those of us who have at sometime, (or forever in my case) posted on the TTC after MC thread. It is planned for the 21st January at the Bella Italia Restaurant in Leicester Square. Kids and DH/Ps welcome if they fancy it!

Let me know on the TTC thread!

Would be great to see you there!!

xmasspub · 30/11/2005 15:29

Great news, Cori.
Congratulations!
Do you have any children already? If so, what flavour are they?

coribells · 30/11/2005 15:38

I have one DS, the one I lost was boy as well, so was expecting it really. There is part of me that was secretly hoping for all girl but tbh I am just pleased the baby is growing well.

xmasspub · 30/11/2005 15:45

Know what you mean. I have looked at threads on here before when people have asked about how to try to get a boy or girl specifically and I must admit have found those types of messages irritating since I had my m/c in June. A healthy baby is a gift and the sex shouldn't matter (unless it is important in terms of genetic disorders and that type of thing, of course).
Just think, you'll have all sorts of clothes and stuff already so more money for chocolate and trips to New York for you!

Atomicstockinghanger · 30/11/2005 15:58

Oh and BTW Cori fantastic news from scan mwah xx

Such good news I had to say it 3 times

slinksanta · 30/11/2005 16:17

thats great cori congrats
i know what you mean about the boy/girl thing, for me i would prefer a girl, but truthfully i just want a baby and would be so grateful with either sex. for me it's more about a little personality joining the family.

heartbeat was 156 last night- still sounds like a train though lol

Wills · 30/11/2005 16:37

Hi all. Great news about the scan Cori.

I have two dds but truly truly don't care just another little personality to join our family.

Went to the docs last night who said that there was absolutely no sign that anything was wrong but could tell that I was tender and that that was "odd". She thinks its probably just tender nerve endings. I was secretly hoping for something that could be a definite response i.e "its an infection that could be cured OR Loads of people have this, don't worry". So am going to have to work on bully the pessimissitic side of my personality into shutting up.

On a funnier note have finally realised that I have to go into maternity bras (large deep red marks in shoulders!). Being small backed and large fronted (ugh) its difficult to find anything that doesn't remind you of the things your great grandma wears! Oh and nothing remotely sexly like a different colour to white - not even black etc. Grrrr

Have five and half weeks to wait for the next scan. Sorry for this but roll on the new year.

jinglediddle · 30/11/2005 16:55

I agree with you wills - roll on the new year. I'm sure your problem is very common, there is so much happening down there right now, baby will be causing uproar with your muscles and organs. no wonder its a bit tender down there. Don't worry baby is fine, probably having a good kick and squirm about, your body is not used to it.

coribells - excellent news on your scan, so glad it went well.

slinksanta - very good to see some smiley faces on your post, i worry about you. hope all is going well for you.

petunia · 30/11/2005 17:02

Cori-glad your scan went well.

slinksanta · 01/12/2005 11:10

I rang the bookings at the hospital and they told me they have been through all the referrals and my name isn't on any of them!!!!!
i told her my gp urgently faxed a referral though a fortnight ago, and i was hoping to et seen before xmas.
she told me i have to chase up my gp!

why does everything take so much hassle!
- update dp just rang drs and they have sent another fax today, good job i didn't ring up i would have ranted like a mad woman and got nowhere.

diddle - thanks babe, don't worry about me ill be fine

jinglediddle · 01/12/2005 11:11

I am worried slink, very glad your dp has taken charge, bloody useless doctors and hospitals. You keep them on their toes.

slinksanta · 01/12/2005 11:28

i will do, i plan to ring the hospital later and check they recieved the 2nd fax and ask them to arrange an appointment with me then and there. i a dying to be seen before xmas, and i have thrush!!! so i am really worried about the infection rising through my cervix and causing an infection around the membranes, i know it's rare but it's similar to what happened last time.
i am on the canastan cream and yogurt!

are you feeling any slight movements yet diddle? small bubble popping movements, they happen more when you lie on your back with your first. it won't be long till you do

i am feeling movement alot more than twice a day now and some movement is really proddy, i think i could have felt it with a hand on my belly too, i think baby must be a bit further along than i think.

jinglediddle · 01/12/2005 11:46

slink - good you get them sorted out.

Not sure fi i am feeling anything yet, i did wonder last night if i did, i can't wiht my hand but when i'm lying flat i felt what you described, but very likely it was wind.
Got a weird feeling down below.
Around my labia, keep getting little twinges in them, had me a little worried, but all seems to be fine.Anyone else had this, or am i odd???

plus DH and i are going to look at dopplers on ebay tonight, can't wait.

jinglediddle · 01/12/2005 11:46

thrush must be very annoying, pretty sure i ahve never had it, but of all thinsg to have now, its the last thing you need, making you all uncomfortable.

slinksanta · 01/12/2005 12:22

i think your just odd diddle lol only joking i wouldn't worry about your twinges, im sure they're normal

i think more likly to be baby than wind

you are lucky never to have had thrush, i seem to get it at least 4 times a year, and always get it at least once during pg - the joys of an itchy fanny!
