As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

Hi Petunia,
Hope you're feeling better. I was as sick as a dog on Weds - particularly pleasant given that I'd had chix Tikka for dinner the previous night...Thought it was the start of horrendous morning sickness (8+3) but thankfully it only lasted for a day! I haven't thrown up in ages and had forgotten how grim it is!
How's everyone else?

jinglediddle · 28/11/2005 11:15

petunia - sounds like you've got a right game, theres bugs goign round our school too, 24 hour sickness etc, horrible. I've managed to avoid it so far though.

xmasspub - still suffering here, having afternoon and evening sickness, just feelign nauseous, not being sick. Tiredness has hit as well, feelign totally exhausted even when i've just got out of bed.

xmasspub · 28/11/2005 11:29

Hey diddle - sorry you feel so grim. When do you hi the magic 12 weeks? I seem to recall it getting much better then. Know what you mean about hte knackeredness, though!

jinglediddle · 28/11/2005 11:37

was 12 weeks last friday, sickness has died down a bit, but in some ways thats gonna worry me too. can't wait for our baby to arrive. maybe when i feel it moving i will be more reassured.

petunia · 28/11/2005 11:47

xmasspub- I'm feeling a lot better than I did yesterday but even this morning I didn't feel that great. Feel better for going out to get DD1 to school. Still haven't got a lot of appetite though and I've just managed to clean up the kitchen because it all went to pot yesterday! So jinglediddle, hope you manage to keep avoiding the bugs, this one's a really bad one to get!

wishingchair · 28/11/2005 13:02

Hello everyone from a very cautious (but positive) newbie. Got a positive test result last Tuesday (CD22!) and subsequent 3 more tests have all been positive. Today is CD28 and no sign of af and as I am always early, I guess I can fairly confidently say I'm pregnant!

So just wanted to say hi. Not on here very often but I'd love to pop in every now and then if I can.

Not worked out a due date, feels too soon, but have a feeling it'll be about a month after the due date of my lost little one. Want to make an appointment wiht the midwife as the consultant said he'd write to my doctor to recommend I have an early scan with a future pregnancy but seems too early to do that too. Maybe I'm just burying head in the sand!!!

Anyway, so glad to see you are all well. Take care xxx

jinglediddle · 28/11/2005 13:22

wishingchair - recognise your name maybe i saw you on the ttc after miscarriage thread. I totally understand your apprehension, i hope it all goes well. CONGRATULATIONS on you BFP, stay positive, it will all be fine x x x

wishingchair · 28/11/2005 13:35

Thanks jinglediddle - it's weird, I have a more positive feeling than I did about my last pregnancy so am going to keep that going and try to stay realistic too. Seeing all you get through each important day/week is so great ...

xmasspub · 28/11/2005 13:56

Wishingchair! Hi!
Another refugee from the ttc after m/c board!Brilliant to have you on here. How are you, mucker?

slinksanta · 28/11/2005 15:03

hi wishingchair, congrats on your bfp

i have been having some cramps in my left belly, i am hearing babys heartbeat on my right belly so am not too worried.
am i right not to be worried?

xmasspub · 28/11/2005 15:29

Slink,
Is this maybe just things stretching? How many weeks are you?

slinksanta · 28/11/2005 15:35

im 10 weeks, so maybe it is stretching, although haven't got many muscles down there- i am thinking that could be a reason why i can hear heartbeat early and feel movements

jinglediddle · 28/11/2005 16:04

sounds like stretching slink - i've ahd a few sharp pains, and all was fine, must be very reassuring to hear babys heartbeat. I've had aches on my right side, i wondered if it was my bladder, because it only seems to do it when i am bursting for the loo.
Wish we could see inside ourselves and see whats going on.

wishingchair · 28/11/2005 16:12

Tummy pains do get worse when you need the loo, you're right.

Slink - you're hearing the heartbeat at 10 weeks? How are you doing this?

(PS - thanks for the congrats ... keep grinning)

coribells · 28/11/2005 16:17

Hello everyone,
Welcome wishingchair. I know its really early days for you, so all the best. We have all been through those nerve wracking first weeks (or months). dont be afraid to share your concerns.

I am doing OK. Have another bloody cold settling in. SO am coughing and spluttering a lot. I seem to get one infection after another. I also have developed quite a bad back. I dont know if it is sciatica or something else. The pain is so bad sometimes it is hard to walk. I havent been lifting anything heavy, so it must be pregnancy related.

I was at London meetup on Saturday night. I met Coathanger, she is such a pup, I expected her to be older for some reason. Also seems completly mad in the nicest possible way. Didnt see any sign of Xena though, which is a shame.

Wills · 28/11/2005 16:34

Hi all, Welcome Wishingchair, very glad to see you on here.

Petunia - sorry to hear about the sickness. My nanny has jung rung me to tell me that my youngest has just upchucked. Am now feeling queasy possibly through the memory of waking this morning to be kissed slap on the lips this morning by her .

Am having loads of pains and its really worrying me. Its more like a bladder infection than anything crampy. Everything feels bruised and it gets very painful if i need the loo. It even hurts to touch. Can't help I've gone into worry mode. I've phoned my gp an am seeing her tomorrow - fingers crossed she can either help me or at least put my mind to rest. Meanwhile I have a sickly child to care for.

slinksanta · 28/11/2005 16:51

first heard the heartbeat at 9.3 weeks, it's easier to hear baby hb before 12 weeks if you have had previous kids as the uterus rises from the pelvis earlier. I am also feeling movements, only about once or twice a day though, my belly muscles are stretched still after my last pg, there is nothing for baby to press against other than uterus and skin lol

wills- take some wee with you to the docs tommorrow, it might save some time diagnosing an infection and you will be able to go on antibiotics for it straight away.

get well soon to all those poorly people

petunia · 28/11/2005 17:45

Welcome wishingchair. Know what you mean about feeling more positive about this pg, I have that as well. There was something about the one I mc that didn't seem right from the start. Doesn't stop me worrying about every ache and pain though!

Coribells- you've got backache too?! Mine's down the middle of my back but I think it might be something to do with spending so much time in bed yesterday with this tummy bug.

Slinksanta- I was told by my midwife to expect "stretching/shooting pains." She said it gets worse with each pregnancy.

Wills- hope the Dr finds out what's wrong and is able to give you something tomorrow.

jinglediddle · 28/11/2005 19:59

Coribells - have seen a lovely pic of you from saturday, you're nothing like i imagined, don't know why.

wills - sounds very much like a urine infection, definitly take a sample with you tomorrow, and i hope ti goes ok and they give you something straight away. Urine infections can be very painful.

coribells · 28/11/2005 20:40

OK, now I am scared. I dont usually do photos well. I just hope she doesnt post it. eek.

Just seen a thread from Desperatehousewife seems she has had a late miscarriage/stillbirth.(she was due in march). Messages of support are needed i think.

coribells · 28/11/2005 20:48

God, it looks like she was about 26/27 weeks. How absolutely devastating.

jinglediddle · 29/11/2005 07:09

oh coribells thats awful will fidn the thread.

you looked great on the photo, don't worry, she would never post it wihtout you knowing, i don't think. i got an email showing how much fun ti was, you just happened to be on it.

coribells · 29/11/2005 18:31

Poor DHW. THat thread has brought up a lot of memories. Am starting to get worried again. I have resolved to use my Dopler everyday. At least then I will notice if the heartbeat drops. Had been feeling a bit complacent as am feeling movement everyday.

jinglediddle · 29/11/2005 18:34

coribells - don't worry ( easily said i know) your baby will be fine, I wonder if using your duppler and checking so often is a good idea. surely you're putting un-needed strain on yourself and the baby.

I too am worried every other day, but i know that it is totally out of my hands I am beign as careful as i can, and thats all i can do. If anything happens and baby leaves me, then it is for a reason out of my control.
stay positive for baby and you x x x

coribells · 29/11/2005 18:40

I know checking wouldnt make much of a difference now, but after 25 weeks the fetus is viable. If i noticed a decrease in the heart rate maybe something could be done. I dont know.
