As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

think i'm getting a cold cori - felt bunged up all the time, but now my nose has started running. its the last thing i need, my m/s is making me feel very rough, but its all good, glad i have it really, stops me worrying so much.
glad you're not doing too bad.

Diddle · 18/10/2005 10:30

how is everyone, this thread is so quiet

Prettybird · 18/10/2005 15:21

I've posted this on the June Ante Natal club, but I'll post it here as well as I really need some support.

Went for an early scan today. Although according to my dates, I should have been 7+2 weeks, the scan only a c.5 week pregnancy. Really worried that I am having another missed miscarriage.

Last time (2 years ago) I found out at 11 weeks when I went for my booking in scan and it was only c.7 weeks - and when I had a repeat scan y5 says later it had collapsed still further.

What worries me is that I did my test at 4weeks and 5 days. If I am only as many weeks as they say, then I would only have been about 3 weeks at most at the time - and I don't think the Boot Digital test is that sensitive.

I've got to go back in two weeks time. It'll be a long two weeks.

It is just possible that the Clomid knocked my cycles out of sync and the dates are just wrong. I'm not hopeful though, as although I breezed through the first trimester with ds, with no morning sickness, this time around I'm not aware of the little signs - the sore, enlarging boobs, the extra tiredness, the trips to the loo....

carly82 · 18/10/2005 15:33

hi prettybird!
i am currently on th ttc thread and was just skimming through the other threads when i came across your message. on my second pregnancy i done a boots test which showed +ve then i done two sainsburys and two clearblue in the next three days all of which showed -ve. V confusing so i booked in to see my gp four days later who repeated the test there and then and confirmed that i was pg. when i finally got around to having my booking scan they told me that i was only 9+4 so the boots test had picked it up when i was a little over three weeks pg. anyway the point of my story (finally i hear you say ) is that some tests can pick it up that early and all is probably well

Hi Diddle,
AM Ok no change really still have sinus problems. Have my 12 week scan tomorrow am very nervous about it.

PrettyBird, I dont feel really comfortable posting on Antenatal clubs boards, I still have too many worries and every there seems so positive.
There is another lady on this thread, Xena , had a similar issue. I think she had a scan when just over 7 weeks and they said the baby was measuring just 6 weeks, by the time she went back for her 2nd scan two weeks later the baby had grown and reflected her dates. I always wonder about the dating thing, because surely not all babies grow at the same rate. You could have ovulated later in the month. Especially if your taking meds.
Am also really worried about having another missed miscarriage, last time I was 16 weeks when I found out.
Do you have many pregnancy symptoms?

Diddle · 19/10/2005 07:45

cori - i'm having sinus problems now too, feel like i have a cold coming but its not developing into anything else. very weird, feel naff, have been having lemon curd on toast to ease it a bit, which does help for a while. But i'm having terrible headaches. Stay positive, your scan will be great Cori.

Got a midwifes appointment for next Tuesday, where i am goign to beg for a scan appointment. Quite excited about that, can't help worrying like mad that its all going to go wrong though.

cori · 19/10/2005 20:17

Scan went well. Right size, heartbeat normal. I saw my consultant, and she has offered me weekly scans up to 20 weeks. I am so pleased. I will still worry but I will wont have long to wait between scans. She reasurred me this was for my own peace of mind, not for any other reason.
I will also have fortnightly appointments with the consultant. I cant believe that I am getting such a high level of care. I am very pleased.

Diddle, I have discovered that it is safe to take sinutab during pregnancy. I looked it up on Net doctor, if feel you need to take it just make sure it doesnt have other contraindicated ingredients. I wonder how Xena is getting on. I know she has her 12 week scan around this time.

OP posts:
Diddle · 20/10/2005 07:43

cori - thats excellent, glad your scan went well, how many weeks are you again? thats really good of them to give you weekly scans, i bet you're thrilled. I'm so glad it went well. I thinks xena's is today isn't it?

Thinking of you xena.

thansk for letting me know about the sinutab cori, will investigate.

Diddle · 20/10/2005 07:43

doh, just read down it was your 12 wk scan. sorry bit slow today

Flutterbye · 20/10/2005 13:12

I've got my dating scan tomorrow (at last, it's been booked for over two weeks) can't wait to see what's actually there this early (about 8 or 9 weeks), we don't know exact dates 'cause we conceived straight after the m/c. With ds earliest scan was at 13 weeks.

My nauseous feeling has subsided recently, one of my boobs is really ichy today, think it's growing or something.

I'll let you all know how the scan goes (fingers crossed!). TTFN.

Diddle · 20/10/2005 13:31

GOOD LUCK FLUTTERBYE - Hope it all goes well for you. how exciting. Have you only had 1 m/c before? or are you getting more care as you have had a few. hope you don't mind me asking.

Flutterbye · 20/10/2005 20:07

Yep, only had one miscarriage so far (touch wood), everyone around here who is unsure of dates (conception after miscarriage without waiting for period, irregular periods, etc) gets a dating scan at approx 8/9 weeks so am not getting any special treatment so far. That's fine, ask away!

Wills · 21/10/2005 12:36

Hi all, Sorry I haven't been on recently but have been slowly going insane with fear worry all those feelings and worried that you'd all get sick of me. A case of being concerned that if I started typing I just wouldn't stop.... I'm now 9 weeks 5 days but have constant stomach ache and back ache that leaves me feeling extremely drained and tired and tearful. Had a scan last week which revealed two large cysts and a grumbly uterus. Suspect that its the cysts that are causing a little more pain than is normal.

Cori - wow over having loads of scans, that's just incredible! Where do you live? I'm moving there now.

Flutterbye - how did it go?

PeePee - not sure you'll find this but hoping you will. Have you been tested to see if you're allegic to your husband? I know it sounds strange but that's what happened to my cousin.

Prettybird - honey how are you?

Diddle - please remind me how far are you now?

Enid - hows the weight gain? . I felt certain I'd put loads more on as my bottom, hips and thighs (all supposedly non-pregnant areas) are growing but you know what??? Despite their increases in girth the scales were finally stable. My body just wants to lay down fat regardless of what I eat.

Hello to everyone else

Enid · 21/10/2005 12:38

I have lost 2lbs

have been eating more normally and feel less sick.

Wills please try not to worry so much you poor thing.

I am bowing out of this thread as I have had my nuchal fold and everything was fine. Thank you so much everyone for your support. x E

Wills · 21/10/2005 12:42

Enid - what's the best time for nuchal scan. I have to do a private one

Enid · 21/10/2005 12:49

they say between 11-13 weeks (i was just over 12 weeks)

Wills · 21/10/2005 12:51

Thanks honey.

Diddle · 21/10/2005 13:46

wills - i'm 7 wks today. had a scare last night, started spotting, but have managed to get a scan this morning and baby is fine heart beating away. Going to take it easy now and get some rest.

cori · 21/10/2005 13:48

Yes, I am very lucky in regards to the scan. I am going to Hillingdon hospital. I have nothing but praise for the way my care has been handled.

I hope your Ok Wills, it is an incredibly stressful time, and as somebody said on the other thread each pregnancy seems to be more painful. I didnt know this before, but definetly seems to be true.

OP posts:
cori · 21/10/2005 13:49

Diddle, I am glad your scan went OK. Did you have much spotting?
I had an episode of spotting a couple of weeks ago as well, nothing since.

MINNIE1 · 21/10/2005 14:10

Diddle
Feet up and chill! Glad your scan went well its so nice to see the heart beating away.. For the first couple of weeks i didnt life a finger..

Wills · 21/10/2005 14:25

Hi diddle. My scan was because of a bleed/spotting. They've blamed it on the cysts as they burst and regrow and burst etc etc. When they scaned did they mention any cysts?

Wills · 21/10/2005 14:26

I'm ok Cori, thanks, just wishing I could find the pause button on my brain. I'm my own worst enemy at the mo.
