As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

Have been to GP yet?

Hello again all, have been away entertaing family etc so have finally managed to catch up with the goss after a few days.

Peepee - sorry for you, seems like your head is together though so keep on trying!

Welcome to the new ladies. I'm about 7 weeks now and feeling v. nauseous recently (didn't have this with ds). Have to eat every 2 hours to shake it off, also exacerbated by ds waking in the night with a temp/virus thing. I feel like poo! Hopefully will all pass in a few days or so. My dating scan is in just over a week, can't wait to see some evidence of the little blighter.

Diddle · 13/10/2005 07:14

cori - had a little morning sickness before, not as strong as this though. I feel terrible this morning, have only managed to eat 1/4 of a piece of toast this morning, and even that made me gag.
Had a rough time, woke up having dreamt i had pains, then couldn't tell if the pain had been real or a dream. My back is aching and my legs. need my bed. Not having any pains now though think it was just a dream, but you know when it feels so real.
TMI question coming up, does anyone have painful wind?

how eveyones else.

petunia · 13/10/2005 10:41

Diddle- I had really bad wind several weeks ago. Midwife said it was due to the baby, even though it's tiny, lying on my bowel/bladder. It went after 2-3 wks. I'm also getting the aches in my back and legs as well, usually when I've been in bed. It's horrible isn't it? It feels like my period is about to start sometimes. Midwife said any aches and pains down below is a good sign that everything's getting bigger and stretching.
Hope the m/s eases soon.

Diddle · 13/10/2005 13:45

thats how i feel petunia, was worried my period was going to start this morning as i would possibly have come on today. was your gas painful?

petunia · 13/10/2005 14:37

Not really painful, but (sorry, this is really TMI) as well it was going to the loo 3-4 times a day to do no.2s (trying to be polite here!) But like I say, it only lasted a few weeks and I'm really glad I saw the midwife when I did because she was able to reassure me that it was down to the position of the baby. She also says a lot of these aches and pains stop by the time 12wks has come round because everything has lifted out of the pelvis by then.
Hope the sickness has got better.

Diddle · 13/10/2005 14:46

thanks petunia - mine was little painful this morning but i ddi have the runs as soon as i went to the toilet so i;m putting the pain down to that. m/s has eased off a bit, i think because i got up so early it made me feel worse so i ahd something to eat after i'd been to school with the kids. felt better then.
how are you doing now? how far along are you

Prettybird · 13/10/2005 14:54

Had my docotr's appointment yesterday.

He has arranged an early scan for me next week (I'll be just over 7 weeks gone), as I said I was a bit twitchy after having had a missed miscarriage 2 years ago.

It'll also help set dh's mind to rest about the likelihood of twins (he has had twins read into his palm - and what with my age, the fact that we are both left handed, plus he was the surviving one of a set of identical twins..... )

Still not feeling any symptoms - but then I was disugstignly healthy in both ds' pregnancy and also when I had the miscarriage (found out at what should have been 11 weeks when I went for CVS)

petunia · 13/10/2005 16:50

Diddle- glad sickness has eased a bit. It says in this book that the midwife gave me that if you can have some toast/ something to eat before getting out of bed, it might ease the m/s.
According to the scan on Monday, I should be 12wks tomorrow.

Diddle · 14/10/2005 07:14

petunia - thanks for the advice, wish had time for toast i bed first, i love my sleep too much to get up early for it. MS not as bad this morning had a glass of water and a ginger nut and its easing a bit. psyching myself up towards some rasins splits. yummy.

Diddle · 14/10/2005 16:40

cori · 15/10/2005 16:27

Have been starting to get some pains across the middle of my abdomen, near my belly button different from the aches and pains I was experiencing earlier on. Any one else experienced pains in this region.?
4 days to go to my next scan.

OP posts:
Diddle · 15/10/2005 18:23

cori - i'm having aches and pains, my tummy feels like i've done a million sit-ups, it aches. but not having an sharp pains. friend of mine had a weird aching pain and went to the epau and its nothing that is a threat to the baby, so it might be worth you getting it checked out, just to reassure yourself.

cori · 15/10/2005 19:48

The pain seems to be worse when I move about, if I am sitting it goes away. Am having my booking in appointment with the consultant on Wednesday and am also having another scan. I will mention it then if I still have it. Definetly feels like a cramp though.

Thanks for the support you gave me durring the end of my pregnancy with dealing witht he fear of everything still going wrong even after reaching term. Just to let you know that David arrived on 22nd September (16 days overdue) weighing 8lb 12oz. Mother and baby doing fine although it was a bit stressful being in the same building where everything went so horribly wrong last year. Good luck to you all.

cori · 16/10/2005 17:17

Congratulations, Mummyhill am glad to see all went well in the end. How was the birth, did you have to be induced?

OP posts:
HellKat · 16/10/2005 17:25

mummyhill · 16/10/2005 20:55

hi cori - birth went well had to be induced and he therefore arrived in a bit of a hurry, no time for anything other than gas and air.
