As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

thanks cori - its good to know there are others who know just how i feel, hope all is going well for you

cori · 10/10/2005 09:35

I woke up on Saturday morning and there was no bump (Have a quite sizeable one already) my stomach looked relatively flat, and I had been having this feeling of heavyness in the pit of stomach ( around where the baby is just above the pelvic bone. This feeling was exactly like a sensation I had just after I was told that last baby had died, before I was induced. So that combined with loss of bump worried me. However the through out the day the bump came back, and that feeling is not so strong any more, So am putting it down to baby resting or something. Petunia reassured me that it is normal for the bump to go down in the morning.

How are you getting on?

Diddle · 10/10/2005 09:46

peepee · 10/10/2005 09:48

I am going back to the TTC thread. Did a Clearblue test this morning instead of the really hard to read cheepo ones and got a definite negative. I am pleased that I know now and can go on to trying.
Have called my GP to let him know. So will not have to go to hospital.
Good luck u guys. I will be keeping an eye on this thread.

have a pregnancy question that i am never sure of the answer to, a friend of mine todl e once that you shouldn't wear underwired bras during pregnancy and should have a maternity bra straight away, is this true and should i get one now.

Spoo · 10/10/2005 11:28

Diddle - Apparently, the only reason you shouldn't wear underwire bras is because you bust size changes so rapidly and it is apparently dangerous to wear a u/w bra that doesn't fit as it can damage breast tissue.

IMO - all in moderation. I wear an u/w bra occasionally when I feel like 'perking up'

Spoo · 10/10/2005 11:29

Sorry to hijak your thread.

Diddle · 10/10/2005 15:57

thanks spoo, hijack away.

petunia · 10/10/2005 18:01

Peepee- sorry to hear your news. You seem glad that you know one way or the other. Must have been stressful when one test said you were pg and another said you weren't. Hope you'll be back here very soon.

Diddle- glad you're here. Just take it one day at a time.

I had my dating scan today. There was the little thing, wide awake with arms and legs waving all over the place! They think I'm 11+3 with a due date of 28th April. It was reassuring to see it. Another milestone reached.

Tumblemum · 10/10/2005 20:35

Hello everyone,
hug peepee
I have some good news had my 12 week nuchal scan and the baby is fine and a reasonable risk factor so I am relieved. Thanks to all on this thread for your support.

peepee · 10/10/2005 20:57

Brilliant news Tumblemum.

congrats petunia and tunblemum, its great to ahve some positive news. everyones doing so well. lets keep it up.

Diddle · 11/10/2005 16:07

how is everyone today?? i'm feeling pretty rough, very sick and nauseous today, haven't been sick, have just had a little lie down and feel even worse now. so i'm up trying to keep busy x hope you're all ok

petunia · 11/10/2005 16:23

Diddle- have you tried tea and/or ginger biscuits. They say anything with ginger in is good for the nausea/ sickness.

Tumblemum- wonderful news about your scan.

Can't come on the internet very often at the moment, PC keeps giving up on me! Trying to lurk once a day, so I am still around.

Diddle · 11/10/2005 16:40

thanks petunia, yes i'm 3/4 of my way through my ginger nuts, hope it wears off a bit soon, maybe i'm just hungry haven't been snacking as much today

petunia · 11/10/2005 18:06

Diddle- I've found when I'm hungry (usually just before tea in the evening and don't want to eat anything) and tired, the sickness strikes. Hope you feel better soon.

cori · 11/10/2005 18:29

Yes, I agree with that, if I am already a bit hungry the sickness starts. I find grazing all day helps.

OP posts:
Diddle · 11/10/2005 18:39

trying to graze more, have eaten less today so must be that. ready for tea now hope it hurries uo and cooks. been and got some comfy maternity bras, as all my current ones are underwired. it feels like i don't have one on, sooo comfy great for me as my nipples are already a bit tingly.

cori · 12/10/2005 17:58

Am now 11 weeks. the countdown to the second major hurdle is on. I have managed to get another scan next week, on the same day as my booking in appointment. So am very pleased about that.
I am still feeling quite rough though, this ear infection/ Sinusitis is refusing to go away, and there is nothing I can do about it. It s my second week off work now, and am getting a bit down. How is everyone else?

OP posts:
Diddle · 12/10/2005 18:18

not too bad cori - still getting usedf to the idea of being pregnant, have felt very nauseous on and off and i'm worn out now after a long day working. looking forwrad to a nice rest in 20 mins when my last little one goes home.
