As some of you already know I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks in April of this year.
I am very pleased and excited to be pregnant again but at the same time full of fear and anxiety.
Their seems to be a lot of women on mumsnet at the moment who have experienced a recent miscarriage and are pregnant again. We all have the same worries.
Hopefully we can use this thread to offer each other mutual support and help keep each other positive.

Cori- glad the scan went well. After the pain you went through, I'm sure it was reassuring. Are you going to have a dating scan or was that it today?
After my 6wk scan, my midwife at my booking appt. said she didn't think I'd get a dating one at 10-12 wks because I'd already had the 6wk one. It was only because the print-out recommended having one to check my dates that I'm having one next Monday.
Hope Maddyd is OK.

cori · 03/10/2005 17:10

I dont think I will get a dating scan somehow, as already have had two scans, my next one will be at around 15/16 weeks, as that is when I had last M/C.
Am starting to worry about Maddyd. She hasnt checked in on either threads.

Cori fab news, im really pleased for you. You must feel alot more at ease now.

Afternoon everyone sorry not been in reporting earlier but been at a friends this afternoon trying to take my mind off it all.

The news is they wouldnt scan because im only 5+5 and need to be over 6 weeks for them to detect a heart beat so either way i would have to go back.

The second is that thier pg test came up negative. Total but it was a very weak wee as was told didnt need a full bladder and i drink loads of water. Just done another test after holding wee for nearly three hours and there is a very faint posotive but very faint so either way i would say my hormone levels are dropping as my posotiives before were strong.

Thats the negative news.

On a posotive note my bleeding has nearly stopped and apparentley my cervix is closed.

I have had a blood test to check my hormone levels and if around 8,000 they then repeat in 48hrs and then scan next week if they go up. I have to phone the epu at 7pm for results.

So basically im left not knowing what to think.

cori · 03/10/2005 17:44

God, thats terrible. Not having any answers at is a nightmare. Dont know what to say. When do you go back to hospital? What do you think/feel is happening?

Am back from the GP.

Thep/g test he did was negative. He said my pee may b too diluted. Have to do one first thing in the morning then go to him for another test.

Who knows!!!!!!!!!

Lets wait and see.

petunia · 03/10/2005 18:06

Maddyd- what an afternoon for you. Fingers crossed for you at 7pm.

Xena · 03/10/2005 18:48

MaddyD thinking of you.
Glad the scan went well cori.

maddyd · 03/10/2005 19:00

Peepee how far pregnant do you think you are?

Xena · 03/10/2005 19:09

Have you phoned yet Maddy?

maddyd · 03/10/2005 19:15

Still trying xena to get through

peepee · 04/10/2005 12:39

Went to the GP again this morning with some fresh wee. The test was positive.
I am now waiting for the recurrent m/c to call with an appointment. The clinic is only open on tuesdays so i will have to wait a week. I am not bothered really as I reckon I must be only about 3 weeks p/g 4 max.
Could we have some positive vibes please and the beleivers out there to do some hard praying.

Thanks.

Flutterbye · 04/10/2005 13:05

Peepee, you're the same as me then...pg straight after m/c (mine was towards the end of Aug so I'm probably just a few weeks ahead of you).

This AM I got through an appt at the hosp for a dating scan (it'll probably be when I'm 8 or 9 weeks) in 2 WEEKS TIME! The days and weeks seem to drag though, won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes 'cause haven't any sickness or anything (didn't with no.1 though).

I'm currently being a bit naughty with not eating healthily, dh is away on business and I'm being a bit slobby, will do much better in a couple of days time, honest!

Tumblemum · 04/10/2005 15:03

congrats peepee so please for you

Xena · 04/10/2005 15:08

MaddyD how are you doing I read on the TTC thread you have to ring back at 5.45?
I went to the GP today and he thinks the lump I've got next to my tummy button is the start of a hernia. But on the plus side he gave me some anti sickness tablets and they seem to have worked.

cori · 04/10/2005 15:12

How are feeling about it peepee? Wishing you all the best.
I have jsut ordered my doppler, should have it within 24 hours. I will be 10 weeks tomorrow.
I am still quite sick with sinus/ear infection etc.So not doing mcuh at the moment.
I am a bit down right now, I know the baby is OK at the moment, but I am quite ill and today is my due date for the baby I lost in April.

petunia · 04/10/2005 16:12

Cori- poor you, feeling so ill today, and on such a difficult day too. Normally, I'd say keep busy but you probably don't feel like it! Take it easy and get rid of that infection.

Peepee- congratulations. Positive vibes coming your way!

Arabica · 04/10/2005 17:10

Thinking of you Cori--I've just had what would have been my due day too, and I felt very sad. So, big hugs from me!

peepee · 04/10/2005 20:45

Thanks for all the good vibes.

Am feeling a bit low tonight.
I have read the thread about testing too early and feel this is a sign for me.

I really can only wait and see. I can't help feeling down. I just feel that things are just never going to go right for me. I want them to and am really trying.

I keep reading this thread and it does give me hope. You guys are so positive. Maybe, in a few weeks I will be the same.

Thanks for the support.

peepee · 06/10/2005 13:38

Flutterbye,

How are things...How are u feeling?

I am glad to see someone else in the same boat as me.
I feel a bit unsure of all of this. I am too scared to do another p/g test. I know the GP said it was positive but I just feel a bit unsure about all of this. I have no symptoms at all!
Because I am on heparin, progesterone and baby aspirin I will be monitored by my consultant as soon as he is back from leave. I may b going to c him on tuesday.
Will u be going for a dating scan?

I have been trying to work out where I am. My last a/f (M/C) started on 2nd Sept and ended 12th Sept. How on earth am I supposed to work out when I conceived.

Any advice?
We were bd every day whilst on our hols.(10/09 to 25/09)

peepee · 06/10/2005 16:43

Where is everyone?

Having fun and games again with the heparin jabs. I have an almighty bruise coming up on my thigh from where I went a bit wrong this morning. I have a mark left from where I did the same on my tummy 6 weeks ago. I think it is going to be there permanantly.
Never mind. Hopefully it will all be worth it.

I have tried checking out my due date using on line calculators. They all keep saying 9th June. Will have to wait for my date scan as the calculated ones are all for regular cycles etc etc....... It does not include me!

cori · 06/10/2005 17:56

Hi peepee.
It must be very nerve wracking for you. Especially as you dont have any idea of conception. You must be one fertile lady.

I am OK, am at home still sick. Have an ear infection, and my head feels really heavy, on antibiotics, this seems to be taking for ever to go away.
Am 10 weeks pregnant today. My doppler arrived today, it seemed to pick up something but not strong enough to give a reading, will wait a couple of days and try again.

How is everyone else doing?

OP posts:
Xena · 06/10/2005 18:30

Hi Guys. Gosh you must be fertile peepee! Have you had many m/c and thats why they have given you the heparin jabs?
Cori what make doppler have you got? My scan date arrived this morning for the 17th which would have only made me 11+4 so they have rearranged it for the 20th at 9.30. I can't help wodering if I will actually make it.
