I'm now 33 weeks and I know it's not an exact science but I'm curious to hear as I'm always told that I'll likely be overdue as it's my 1st. But I do wonder as I'm reasonably active and my cycle was less than 28 days. I'm moving house around 36 weeks, so I hope the stress of that doesn't affect anything but also the idea of going to 42 weeks fills me with dread.

Basically, are most 1st babies 40 weeks plus?

40 + 3

40+5 for dd1
40 exactly for dd2

I also thought I'd give birth early and I didn't. If I were you I'd expect to go overdue, otherwise you'll be climbing the walls by 40+1! Good luck

40 + 13 - induced
40 + 10 - refused induction. baby came the night we were due to be induced.

i'm pregnant again and would definitely leave it as long as it takes as long as there are no clear indications of distress.

bang on 35 weeks! Although I and my brother were born at 30 weeks and my sister 35 so possibly runs in the family. Does anyone else seem to have prems in the family?

gandj · 12/08/2010 21:46

DD - due date
DS - due date also (2 years later)!

I run a very tight ship!

designerbaby · 12/08/2010 21:47

42 weeks - was induced.

No. 2 arrived on due date, but if I'd have gone over, I'd have opted for expectant management rather than iduction if safe to do so.

Don't be in too much of a hurry - even though it's exciting. Just think of it as two weeks of extra lie-ins which you may not have again until your kids are teenagers...

ds was born at 35+5 emergency casarean due to pre eclampsia

dd1 was born at 39+1 planned casarean

40 weeks plus 13 days, 40 weeks plus 6 days, 40 weeks plus 15 days, last one should have been induced at 40 weeks and 12 days but i threw a hormonal, hissy fit and refused, bit silly really but luckily he was fine (if not a bit large at 10lb 6)
