Not quite sure how many weeks pg I am for sure but yesterday started bleeding (not loads, more like a light period) and have had period like cramps too. Went hospital today and had scan but nurse said it's too early too see anything properly, I had blood tests to see how high my hormone levels are and might have to go back monday. This is my 3rd pregnancy and is all new to me as I never had any problems with my first 2.

Hi, this happened to me at 5 weeks (and it was my first experience of anything like this after 2 textbook pregnancies!)

Did they give you an internal scan or external?

onlygirl · 31/07/2010 16:49

This sounds like me. I had light bleeding so went to epu had an internal scan and everything looks ok. The nurse said they could see no reason for the bleed and that it could just have been an implantation bleed.
Hope everything goes ok for you x

teameric · 31/07/2010 16:52

yes they gave me an internal scan, and could see a small black mass where baby should be, but they couldn't say for sure as they think I'm maybe earlier than I thought so I need to have another scan in a week so they can see better. In the meantime they said if I have any more heavier bleeding and pain I need to go straight to A&E

MissCKitty · 31/07/2010 17:08

Had exactly the same at 6 weeks, light bleeding and mild crampy feeling. Went to my local EPU and they said it was likely implantation bleed, apparently v common but not really mentioned by midwife or GPs. Am now 14 weeks and have had two scans showing a happy bouncy bean.
Keep us all posted. Hope all goes well xxx

cluckyduck · 31/07/2010 17:23

They said the same at my 5week appt at the EPAU; I had to go back after 2 weeks, and they would check to see if things had progressed... I am 24weeks tomorrow ; good luck - hopefully all wil be fine.

teameric · 31/07/2010 17:56

thanks everyone I am trying to stay positive

I am having this at the moment. It's my third one too. Went to A&E and saw heartbeat but still bleeding lightly. It's like I'm having a very light period - no pain just a bit achey. Very scary - wish it would stop

cluckyduck · 01/08/2010 11:17

MsLucy, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too. My consultant said it was quite common, and if you don't have a lot of abdomen or back pain to try not to worry too much. Lie down and try and rest today.

jen6jen · 01/08/2010 11:29

hi girls...shudnt really be on this thread cos im not pg anymore. i had vag bleeding in my fourth preg frm wk 4 til wk 11. it was light and intermittent at times but neva stopped for long. i had mild cramps sometimes. had scan after scan and neva an explaination. at 11 wks it stopped and everything continued normally. after 4 previous miscarriages i spent the first trimester convinced i was gonna lose my baby but im now sitting watching my 14 wk old son smiling at my 15 year old son. lol. am hoping this can offer u a little reassurance because it shows at the end of the day bleeding doesnt necessarily mean the worst. good luck. xxx

mslucy · 01/08/2010 14:03

I have no pain at all. Just a trickle of blood. The scan was amazing but the bleeding is still a major worry. Have splitting headache (major pg symptom for me) and want to wee all the time (nerves). Not my idea of fun and very confusing too.

teameric · 01/08/2010 18:07

Hi all, glad to see I'm not on my own! and jen6jen that is very reassuring, thanks . I was ok yesterday just a bit achy, but bleeding again today, again just feels like I'm on but the bleeding is very light and more like an orangy red than bright red (sorry if TMI ) and I have very mild cramps mostly in my back. I had very bad morning (or all day!) sickness with my first 2 but nothing with this one, I don't know it just doesn't feel right iykwim. I suppose we all just need to take each day as it comes and hope for the best eh?

Hi girls,

It happened to me yesterday.

7th week and very light (brownish) bleeding. Bit of pain with it, but that was it.

Read somewhere on the Internet that if bleeding comes with the end of the symptoms of pregnancy, then its worrying.

I have noticed my breasts arent as sensitive and I am not feeling as sick.

So I am quite worried.

Doctor at the hospital, however, told me end of pregnancy's symptoms doesnt happen that quick.

Is it only in my head then?!

Any of you heard anything on that?

xxxx

goodmorning · 02/08/2010 08:27

this happened to me, bleeding at 6 weeks and GP confirmed a mc, however i was still pregnant and now have very healthy 6month twins. Also had no other pregnancy symptoms.
Midwife said either implantation bleed or very likely a triplet preg with a mc of one.

teameric · 02/08/2010 16:07

goodmorning congrats on your twins! I'm feeling a bit wobbly today, had another scan this morning, they could see slightly more today and the black blob that seems to be the baby has grown slightly since Saturday and is in the right place so thats good, but I am still bleeding slightly, cramping and generally feeling crappy and tired, I'm finding it really hard to stay positive really and am just waiting for the inevitable

OP posts:
goodmorning · 02/08/2010 16:42

teameric-i can obviously only tell you what happened to me but the reason i wantedto post is because bleeding isn't always a mc-even though i thought thats what i was going through at the time IYSWIM.Your scan sounds positive so i am keeping my fingers crossed for you and sending you BIG positive thoughts!
So what happens next for you?Are you going back again soon?

teameric · 02/08/2010 19:07

thanks goodmorning I have to go back on the 9th of August for another scan. (Royal London Hospital have been fantastic) I think I'm comparing this pregnancy to my other 2 too much maybe. I am going to try and chill out as much as I can tonight.

OP posts:
goodmorning · 03/08/2010 14:19

teameric hope all is ok today, please let us know how the next scan goes.I'm sure you can't think about anything else at the moment, but the 9th August isn't too long to wait.
mslucy and cintia any more news?
hope it is of some comfort to read that there are quite a few of us who had exactly yhe same symnptoms but were still pregnant.I only wish i had known what an implantation bleed was and how common it is when it happened to me.

teameric · 03/08/2010 16:18

Hi goodmorning no not too long, and no can't think of anything else, hope everyone else is ok too.
Sorry if tmi again but had a very small blood clot this morning and boobs aren't sore anymore either (which was pretty much my only symptom) I hate the waiting, its driving me mad, I just feel really irritable and fucked off

OP posts:
jen6jen · 03/08/2010 21:15

i was told by a midwife tht symptoms like sore boobs can fluctuate frm 1 day 2 the next so dnt worry abt tht...i too had pinhead clots while i was bleeding just like i had with my 4 mcs and sumtimes dark stringy clots too....in fact i had pretty much ALL the symptoms of a mc to the point tht my gp had told me 2 go home and let nature take its course!! but my baby is here large as life and twice as beautiful. ha. let me know how u get on ladies...try 2 think positively even tho i know thats a really hard thing 2 do. jen. xxx

Natala · 04/08/2010 10:32

Hi, I'm really glad to find this current post. I'm going through a similar thing. Am around 7 weeks by dates but around 6 weeks by scans. I have PCOS so this might be ok. I've had spotting and light orangey red bleeding on and off for the last ten days or so. Scan on Monday showed heartbeat but CRL small for dates. Another scan on 12th August. The waiting is AWFUL. I had a missed miscarriage in Feb and I'm concerned this is the same thing again. I have a healthy son and I spotted with him but lighter and not for as long. Fingers crossed for you all.

wakarimasen · 04/08/2010 10:45

I'm in the same boat too. I'm just over six weeks and have had brown spotting since 11DPO before I even knew I was pregnant.

On Sunday I got a flash or red when I wiped and have had this once a day since then. I am pretty sure it's over as my boobs aren't as tender or full feeling. I just wish that if its not happening then my body would just get on with it IYSWIM.

I have a scan on Tuesday but away abroad for the weekend. That's going to be fun

AxisofEvil · 04/08/2010 15:13

I had bleeding a number of times from 6 weeks until about 13 weeks. Scared the crap out of me but I'm now 18+3 with twins.

teameric · 04/08/2010 17:46

hi all, hope you are all ok, I have started bleeding a lot more and cramping has got worse wakarimasen I know exactly what you mean, I just want to know either way now so I can move on.
AxisofEvil congrats! a lot of posters on here who have bleeding seem to be or have gone on to have twins! That is actually quite scary

MsFaithless · 04/08/2010 23:32

Hi ladies, just wanted to send a word of encouragement to you all. Bleeding in early pregnancy is very common and up to a quarter of women experience this to some degree (it can even seem quite heavy) and go on to have a healthy baby.

DP recently trained in obstetrics and can't stress this enough, it's just something I wish I'd known over the years. Don't let your GP etc fob you off though, if you're worried about it your entitled to reassurance so demand regular scans to put your mind at rest.
