Not quite sure how many weeks pg I am for sure but yesterday started bleeding (not loads, more like a light period) and have had period like cramps too. Went hospital today and had scan but nurse said it's too early too see anything properly, I had blood tests to see how high my hormone levels are and might have to go back monday. This is my 3rd pregnancy and is all new to me as I never had any problems with my first 2.

hoping hoping for you all. wishing that it will be ok. I went through this a few weeks ago. the waiting to know is just dreadful. I had great support on Mumsnet.

gigglewitch · 04/08/2010 23:48

fingers crossed for you.
I had bleeding in all three pregnancies, An awful lot in some cases.
Don't worry about the blood tests, they are checking that your levels approximately double in every 48 hours, iirc. Try not to panic, and get lots of rest.

wakarimasen · 05/08/2010 10:17

I am now on day 21 of spotting (6+3weeks preg) It started off as spots of brown tinged mucus and this last 5 days it's been really dark and heavier. I've phoned the EPU twice to see if I could move my appointment but they just keep saying "brown blood is old blood" christ how much old blood could possibly be in there???

I'm now going to Paris for the weekend to see a friend and have to pray that it doesn't get really bad while abroad

Its nice to know there are other people out there who know what its like.I hope everyone gets good news and please let us know. I have my appointment on Tuesday so will let you know what they say...

teameric · 05/08/2010 10:26

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you wakarimasen I know how hard it is but try to enjoy your weekend I love Paris! hopefully it will keep your mind occupied.
I'm also thinking will the bleeding ever stop? but don't know if it just looks more than it is IYSWIM.
Will be thinking of you tuesday

hi teameric and wakarimasen to give you some more positive thoughts i had lunch with a friend today and we met a lady who had bleeding at 11 weeks quite heavy-and discovered at her 12 week scan it was twins!Hoping that everyone here has good news at your next scans, it does seem that this kind of bleed is very common and isn't always a mc.
mslucy and cintia hope you are both ok?

sassy34264 · 05/08/2010 18:55

When i was 5/6 weeks pregnant, i went for an early scan at the EPU because i was getting sharp pains around the area of my ovaries. I was thinking eptopic to be truthful. I had a scan and it showed twins, which was excellent news, but there was a bleed between the babies. I spent a horrible week being very highly strung. Going to the toilet was an emotional nightmare because having to look at my knickers was so scary. I had been told it could reabsorb and everything would be fine, it could bleed external and everything would be fine, or it could bleed and i would m/c. I could not wait longer than a week- i needed to know. I just went without an apppointment and told them i'd been told to come back. Luckily the bleed had been reabsorbed and everything is fine.
If i were being placated, i would either demand an appointment or just go down and say you will wait as long as it takes. It's absolutely shocking that they expect you to hang in limbo with no clue as to what is happening. Feel for all of you in the situationa nd hope for the best possible outcome for you. x

cintia · 05/08/2010 20:06

Hi girls.

I had a scan and baby is fine. Saw the heartbeat for the first time. I am 8 weeks pregnant now. Fingers crossed it's all going to be ok until my 12th week scan.

Many thanks for all the help.

teameric · 05/08/2010 20:16

Hope everything goes ok for you. I had a similar thing with my dc3. Some bleeding, then fine and then some very heavy bleeding with big clots (sorry if tmi) at 13 weeks. I really thought that was it, but now have dd3 aged 20 months. I really hope you have the same positive outcome. (I was never given a reason for the bleeding but suspect may have been a twin from talking to others?) Good luck - I know how you feel - I will be thinking of you

teameric · 07/08/2010 20:41

hello, am having a bit of a bad day today, the bleeding is now bright red and I had a huge clot earlier today, I have been ok about things, but can't stop crying tonight, feel like shit and it doesn't help that DH is away for the night, my DS is away on an adventure holiday with his cousin and I'm on my own with DD. This week has been so long. Sad

Paperdenim · 07/08/2010 22:49

I hope you don't mind me asking but is your lower abdomen quite swollen/sticking out a little? I don't have any symptoms at all yet you see (apart from gagging over silly things) so was just wondering? thanks x

goodmorning · 08/08/2010 07:06

paperdenim how many weeks are you? I can't really tell about my lower abdomen cos mine always sticks out Grin I'd say the gagging thing is a good sign, thats how my morning sickness started with my other 2.

alliwantissleep · 08/08/2010 21:37

Hi another tale of bleeding that results in healthy baby...

I started bleeding at 5 weeks and bled pretty constantly for 6 weeks - like a constant light period and then had a dark discharge for another week or so. Took many preg tests and line just got bluer. GP thought I was miscarrying and said nothing I could do about it - nature's way, but did offer me scans when I went in to see him.

Eventually at my nucal fold scan saw that some of the placenta had come away but had stabalised. Obs consultant who carried it out was pretty reasuring thankfully.

By 10 weeks, the continual bleeding had left me very anaemic and I was given iron supplements for the next year! Anaemia can cause you to feel tired and nauseous so listen to your body and rest if necessary.

Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Paperdenim · 08/08/2010 22:27

I just wondered if any ladies who experienced bleeding checked to see what their cervix was like? I'm going through a similar thing to tea and mine feels quite open? Sorry for hijacking and tmi thanks x

Hi everyone, had my scan this morning and unfortunately I have had a MC Sad, can't say it was a huge shock because of the amount I had started bleeding the last couple of days.
I just want to thank all you lovely ladies for your support, advice and kind words, they have been very much appreciated XXXX
