Please, I implore you all to just keep them in a nappy until they're ready, the potty is just another step that has to be learned an un -learned again and will only cause you stress. I have two boys who are years beyond this stage now but I feel I am the only person left in this country who is is NOT ok with everyone thinking that if you are a boy in potty training, you will explode if you're not allowed to just piss like a dog where you like! IF THEY CAN'T WAIT PUT THEM IN A NAPPY! PLEASE! There is a reason that there is a law against public urination, because it IS offensive and although it is NOT unusual for grown people to get caught short after the pub with nowhere to go, trust me, if you teach your kids that it's fine to go where you want, it will be YOUR child who (instead of being discreet) will be desicrating some shop doorway or just being on full view on a Saturday night making everyone have to avoid stepping through and having to smell their dirty waste! I hate it and it makes me want to put my fist through glass!

What are the other 6 things that annoy you a lot, would love to know.

Only1scoop · 03/02/2014 17:58

Come on now....stop taking the peeSmile

BobPatSamandIgglePiggle · 03/02/2014 19:41

Ooh - I'm impressed you know what type of person i am annoyed - just from my views about children urinating. God only knows what you'd think if you saw my browsing history / ironing pile / bank statement... Judge away though - I couldn't give a steamy piss.

LEMmingaround · 03/02/2014 19:54

So you would make your children wait on a long car journey rather than find them a convenient bush somewhere SAFE to go? you would rather risk a ruptured bladder than them relieve themselves? Hmm

Reminds me of the time i was desperate and going on holiday - managed to get to a roadside toilets - they were vile, the stench came from outside the door, i thought fuck that, and went around the back, where i thought i wouldn't be seen. There was cheers and applause - i didn;t realise that this was also a motorway cafe frequented by burly lorry driver types - i finished my wee and took a bow Grin Sometimes you just have to brazen it out!

HaroldLloyd · 03/02/2014 19:56

If this makes her want to put her fist through glass id love to see the reaction to a biggy.

LEMmingaround · 03/02/2014 19:57

Haroldlloyd - am i to understand that you blame Stella Artois?? Grin

bobpatsamandigglepiggle

you have already said you can't be bothered to read my posts properly
so stop choosing stuff to pull out of context and beat me with.

What do you want from me?, you've been sarky, rude, accused me of exaggerated cruelty....yet you haven't even read my answers properly!

I get it, some things that bother me don't bother you....some people have been kind, you haven't.
I can't help that I feel the way I feel so I got it off my chest, you on the other hand are clearly enjoying your anger and trying to feed off of it and reduce me to do the same

...so i'll leave you to hash it all out without me. (see, and I put it in little chunks for you to make it easier to read)

lemmingaround,

I don't drive so i'm not talking about that scenario (which is clearly totally different) I mean, in town, near your own home, a few hundred yards from a loo....that, to me is selfish and bad manners. If people were being mindful of others I wouldn't have noticed but I keep seeing it which means a lot more people are being inconsiderate now than before.

Thank you for making your point without being nasty though,
appreciated :)

BobpatSam.....
And just to clarify, 'type of person' obviously refers to your behaviour on this thread and it means the 'type of person' who argues in the fashion that you do.

As I've never conversed with you before I can only sommise that this is how you argue and within this context, you've behaved like 'the type' who does exactly what you've done which I outlined in my last post.

You can twist this into an insult too if you like but it'll only mean that you're doing the same thing that caused me to say it in the first place.
I've only replied to your provocations and it seems that you don't like the fact that you can't get a mean spirited rise out of me....that's an 'impression' not a 'judgement' .
Kind Regards, enjoy your kids. bye

crazy posts.

siblingrevelry · 04/02/2014 13:40

As a parent if young boys I'm afraid we sometimes have to allow the odd 'wild wee' (only in dire circumstances I must add, it's not a habit).

I do agree, however about the potty being another step to learn. My first was a potty refuser, so since then they both went straight on the loo (with a ring insert). This made it easier to go in cafe's, or other people's houses etc.

I'll do the exact same with my daughter. Can't bear the idea of pooing in my living room (not particularly house proud, but yuk!), or taking a potty out with me!

Pointeshoes · 04/02/2014 21:04

Your worried about children doing wees outside? Really?

Pointeshoes · 04/02/2014 21:07

I think you should change your name to Losttheplot instead of annoyedalot.
Hope that helps.

Thewhingingdefective · 04/02/2014 21:09

Hey, AnnoyedALot7, why don't you CalmDownABit5?

QueenThora · 04/02/2014 21:17

I think it's OK to let your child wee outdoors exactly because it's clearly OK for dogs. Dog wee is smellier than toddler wee, and they tend to do it on pavements. You take your toddler behind a tree etc. if possible, maybe in the gutter in a wee emergency. If people put up with dog wee, why would they mind?

"Little chunks" = paragraphs. Think you'll find they're fairly widely used.

livingthegoodlife · 05/02/2014 20:56

i haven't read all the replies but there is a big difference between a nearly trained/learning 2-3 year old and 5/6/7 year olds, plus wild wees on a walk in the countryside is very different to the car park at sainsburys or whatever.

i have some friends who let their kids aged 4 and 5 wee anywhere they like, even if their dad is going to the loo, the kids choose not to go with him and just wee outside. its ridiculous and gross.
