Now, hard as it might be, leave your ESH spawn at the creche and step into the spa - where we have every treatment available to soothe your Amityville Horror undercarriage, ravaged raspberries and worn out wits. And - wait for it - we've got the bar back. And it's all-inclusive

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a glass, lower yourself into the jacuzzi and lets get chatting. We are Forever ESH!

Well he will not go on his back, unless on the playmat, and it'stouch and go on his side. He's been lifting his head from about 1 week so I have no worries on that score. I can't get worked up about it. I slept on my front and I'm fine

FannyPriceless · 08/08/2010 12:30

Won't somebody think of cunty's baby???!!!

Well Clyde slept for half the night in his Chicco rocker last night.Shock Not planned, he was just so fast asleep in it in the sitting room when we went to bed so MrP said, why would we move him out of it? So I put the rocker on the floor of the bedroom, adjusted it to the lie flat position, tucked in his blanket and left him to it. That bought me few hours of sleep unencumbered. Didn't last though.

ski I haven't used the CO, as GP said only go if you have a specific problem to address (she's the one whose husband is a CO so I trust her advice on that). Don't know about cs theory. But people do say that Bonnie 'has a nice shaped head' (goes in my weird compliment collection, that one).

Spent the whole day yesterday at the Outlet mall.Blush We are struggling to think of things to do with both children that won't drive us insane, and we figured, enclosed space, big fancy playground, etc. We survived. We now have reins on Bonnie. And if you thought you'd never do that to your PFB, I tell you now, that day will come.

cheggs You know you are my hero, don't you? Grin

SkiHorseWonAWean · 08/08/2010 12:39

I am a child of the 70s fanny - reins are going on Bear as soon as I can find some to match the dog leads! Wink

Shock 2 nappies for 3 hours Ski....have been known to get through 6 for same amount of time.

Box - happy to return the music toy. Only came with one music disc tho....t'others must be somewhere in the bowels of your lovely home.

Ariesgirl sounds hideous - your poor sister & nephew....good to hear he's on the mend tho. We used the Tiny Love classical mobile - plays music long enough to get DD to sleep (20 mins I think) when she was ickle and mesmerised her for ages (not quite hours but did the job). You can get on Amazon Smile

CUNextTuesday · 08/08/2010 17:55

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah one of my boobs is rock hard and I have blocked ducts around my nipple! Massage an a hot bath haven't worked, nor has expressing and Rastus appears to be getting nothing from it. AM I GOING TO DIE?

CluckyKate · 08/08/2010 19:24

Feel for you Cunty but you're not going to die....have you tried stroking down the boob towards the nipple with a wide-toothed comb - is good trick to clear blockages & prevent mastitis. Hope it clears soon.

CUNextTuesday · 08/08/2010 19:41

ummm I've got a paddle brush?

Backinthebox · 08/08/2010 19:48

Pump till it pops - bloody agony, then relief! Lots of massage too. As soon as it unblocks get Rastus on it. If it doesn't clear soon get onto doctor first thing tomorrow - apparently blocked ducts in new breast feeding mothers are enough to jump the appointment queue if you feel it is impacting on your ability to feed him. TMI bit coming up - once it does pop it can come out a bit lumpy or gritty at first, then clears up. DD didn't like it when it was gritty Confused.

organiccarrotcake · 08/08/2010 23:25

cunty oooohhh nothing to add but hope it clears up soon. Oh I do - I was advised to massage blocked ducts with my knuckles made into a fist.

While we're admitting stuff - I woke up the other night/morning/sometime with Comma's head right under the duvet. That's right - we have a DUVET on our bed and he's coming into bed with us.

Can we stop using the term "BF Nazi" please. Me not like it. Thank you.

But point well made, ski. I mean, I use a DUVET. I think the point is perhaps that people should have the information to make an informed decision. I think, for instance, that it's important to tell people that duvets can be dangerous for babies, or that they are statistically safer sleeping on their backs, or that BM has stuff in it which statistically keeps them healthier. But also full information about everything - eg (sticking with the milk stuff) the benefits of FF. But then are most people able to make these decisions or do most people prefer to be "just told"?

YOB has been working on something for a charity and their stuff has to be "accessible", meaning that text in their leaflets/websites etc has to be suitable for a reading age of 14. The maternity unit in our nearby town has literature which was also rated the same. How do you put across "public information" to such a wide audience?

aries I'm so glad that your nephew is on the mend. His poor mummy :( I bought a nivce mobile for LC from Blooming Marvellous although recently their site has been crap. Can't help much there, I'm really sorry :(

nappies ski some, and I don't know which, sposies can have problems if you use nappy creams as it blocks the pores apparently and reduces absorbancy. However, as you're not experiencing problems, I would ignore that. Going back to the cloth, there are some critical things to consider. The nappy and wrap should be snug, but not tight (two fingers in waistband as a rule of thumb). Ensure that the nappy and liner is completely tucked into the wrap at the waist and legs otherwise it will wick. And boost as required. Great that you're changing frequently. cassie you're right, some babies have more sensitive skin than others - nappy off time is really critical. ski is also absolutely right about soaps and stuff. I didn't use anything with LC until he was about 6 months old. Even now he mostly only washes with water. You could put a capful of Oilatum in her bath (I think it's available OTC). I use LC's, which he's prescribed for his eczema, in Comma's bath when his skin is a bit dry.

Off to bed. Hope Comma starts to sleep as well as your lovely girlies soon, cheg although I appreciate you've had something of a long-haul getting to this point. :)

organiccarrotcake · 08/08/2010 23:28

BTW I'm ignoring ski's poo comment. My poo is currently not to be commented on, thanks to ongoing iron tablet "issues" :( although our fig tree is finally starting to come into season so I have a good excuse to be really greedy with them :) :)

Worth getting another month of the tabs, actually :)

SkiHorseWonAWean · 09/08/2010 09:20

rots I'm thrilled to hear about your poo. Grin vag has gone over to the bum-grapes side. :( Maybe you can offer advice? half-squeezed tubes of medication perhaps?

About the nappies, 2 more dumb questions:
i) Where does the paper liner go? How should I place it? By his winkie? underneath? bumholio? Should it be folded? Confused
ii) Wrap will not "close" around his legs unless I do it up to his tits - he's still quite long & lean. Fitting is not going well. Require fat baybee?

Btw Duvet???? ShockWink Duvets are approved in Germany. Won't somebody think of all the poor German baybees? I'd report them to the SS but I fear the SS is something different in Germany... Wink

Egads - information leaflets appealing to 14 year olds? :( "wen u iz 'avin a baby like & evryfink ur fanny gets minged & evryfink" etc., etc.

Bear has not had a poo for nearly 48 hours. Hmm Please to stand back.

I'm just about to try something new - jailbait is working late today so I've got to get the dogs out. 2 dogs + 1 baybee in a harness.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 09/08/2010 09:21

PS I lurrrrve figs - almost enough to make me want to make aliyah a couple of years ago. Blush I had no idea we could grown them this far north!

CUNextTuesday · 09/08/2010 09:37

is cos on her way??

Cosmosis · 09/08/2010 09:52

no I isn't cunty - well only in the sense that am now 38 weeks so arrival is fairly imminient, but not like, tomorrow imminent [grim]

Some bastard stole my one and only fig that were growing on my fig stick Sad

rollerbaby · 09/08/2010 10:54

Question for the dog walking mummios. How do you do it? With sling (prob easiest) but if you take the pram, how the hell do you manage? Do your dogs walk nicely to heel? I have no idea how I am going to exercise the little mutt if Mr Moo decides to go to work/leave the country etc.

I wondered if one of those leads that you put round your waist might be a good idea? Hmm

SkiHorseWonAWean · 09/08/2010 11:12

honey With two dogs there's no way I could manage with a pram, well I could if they were both jackapoo size - but if big dog decides to misbehave I'd have to make a choice between holding her or the pram... and she'd probably yank me around anyway. So I've just used the sling and it worked VERY well with the exception that it was quite hard to clip the lead on to little dog because as I bent over I thought Bear might "slip out" of the harness.

I'm using this one www.baby-dump.nl/index.php?page=product&id=2940&groep_id=431&merk=497 and it fits very well over my v large chest (with about a foot to be spare tbh!) - I did notice your enormous bazookas on fb hahaha!

PollyPoo · 09/08/2010 11:13

Moo I haven't seen those leads but probably could have done with one of those. Pol doesn't pull really badly, but neither does she walk to heel perfectly all the time. I'd recommend training minimoo to walk to heel now, before little one gets here! I don't know about everyone else but my back was fucked for months after labour. Carrying madam moo in sling was bearable but only if dog didn't pull. You gotta lay the smack down now!

PollyPoo · 09/08/2010 11:13

Oh yes... and 'pump til it pops' made me feel v pukey!

PollyPoo · 09/08/2010 11:20

Speaking of which, Cunty how are the buzzwams this morning? Did you get docs appt?

rollerbaby · 09/08/2010 11:25

gawd more dog pressure. He is a puller alright. Not too bad when I walk really slowly, but we need to train him. in many things.

Ski my bjorn sling is a bit like that one so should be ok. I might invest in the round the waist thingy and see what it's like. Although if I have my way hairy moo will be walked by mr moo for some time to come. Ps can you imagine how many bras I've gone through??!!!

PollyPoo · 09/08/2010 11:31

Did you say you have trainer coming to visit soon Honey? Hopefully she will sort him out for you! I also saw your FB pics, you look gorg but you are right, enormous knockers!

CUNextTuesday · 09/08/2010 11:38

Bit better this morning, not as engorged. Benn making Rastus feed from it lots. Not convinced it is fixed but will keep eye on it.

rollerbaby · 09/08/2010 11:41

pol you are too nice :). I think my boobs have reached comedy proportions. Please to confirm if they are likely to get bigger?

cunty hope your boobs feel better soon. Sounds horredous.

yes trainer is coming on Friday. Please god she is a miracle worker.

organiccarrotcake · 09/08/2010 14:15

"Unlike the stinky stools of a formula-fed baby, the stools of a breastfed infant have a less offensive buttermilk-like odor. Changing the diaper of a breastfed infant is not an unpleasant task--which is fortunate, because most breastfed babies have several bowel movements a day. When the baby looks at the face of the diaper-changing caregiver and sees happiness rather than disgust, he picks up a good message about himself - perhaps a perk for building self-esteem. "

Now I may be a pro-BF attachment parenting kind of momma but even I think that this wins the award for the stupidest reason ever to BF.

Confused
