Welcome weary travellers. It's been a long road, but you made it! Now, hard as it might be, leave your ESH spawn at the creche and step into the spa - where we have every treatment available to soothe your Amityville Horror undercarriage, ravaged raspberries and worn out wits. And - wait for it - we've got the bar back. And it's all-inclusive

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a glass, lower yourself into the jacuzzi and lets get chatting. We are Forever ESH!

P.S Children never cry here...

okes This is it. Here.

FannyPriceless · 22/07/2010 19:21

ski May I faint at the thought?

Must be brave. I will do it. Not sure when though.

CUNextTuesday · 22/07/2010 19:24

phthoo @ sex. That is what got me in this invidious position in the first place

FannyPriceless · 22/07/2010 19:56

ski To answer your question from yesterday: 6 week check went well. All is in order. Most of my questions were actually about Clyde's man bits. To be fair, I have no brothers, and MrP has no foreskin, so I feel a bit in the dark over exactly what it is I'm looking at.

And by the way, in reference to a previous conversation, we have special songs to sing about 'cleaning poo from underneath your scrotum'. (To avoid any confusion, that's Clyde, not MrP.)

Backinthebox · 22/07/2010 21:17

TMI Ski! But well done anyway . Here's your next challenge - win a Grand Prix dressage competition just 3 weeks after giving birth The full article in H&H magazine goes on to say she was schooling a young horse when she went into labour, and is going to rename it 'The Inducer.' I thought I was doing well sitting on my horse at 32 weeks, even if I didn't actually go anywhere! I did get back on again after DD at 5 weeks, and I felt like a puny ragdoll who could do nothing more than sit there. How the blinking heck does anyone win a dressage competition in that state? (Clucky was more worried about the state of her jodhpurs when she was round here earlier!)

organiccarrotcake · 22/07/2010 22:37

Hi all. Just trying to catch up on posts - not been on for a while. Not having a great time. Comma's started with "colic" and last night was getting a bit desperate and it continued this morning. I think if my iron levels were better I'd be better but I can't tell sleep deprivation from low iron from feeling a bit down. ski I wanted to say, should you get your iron levels tested as you lost a lot of blood too?

Read cunty's CO post with great interest. I know people who've had great results. Plan to phone a local one tomorrow. Have been struggling to do anything really but am finding that writing a "must do" list is helping me to get stuff done, but if it's not all done because Comma's not letting me put him down I'm also trying to go with the flow.

LC is generally being an angel, if a little clingy, but school hols start on Monday so we will see how that goes. I've got him going to holiday club for the first week though.

cas I felt turned inside out after LC's birth. It mostly went back to normal and what didn't just became normal. This time all seemed ok, prob thanks to the supportive water. As you say, get on with the kegels and it will improve. Glad I'm no longer alone with the bottom bumps!

So YOB has just taken Comma upstairs to bed and I can hear him screaming. Am I being bad to continue writing here and not to rush upstairs?

Feeling your boredom ski. Can't be doing with not doing anything but if I do anything I'm exhausted and can't cope with Comma not being settled. Buggeration.

Bedtime. iggs hope you're ok.

CUNextTuesday · 22/07/2010 22:50

Can I join you in the boredom factor. Just realised that my life has turned to drudge. My brain is the size of a pea. I'm sure it will get better as Rastus becomes more interactive, but by christ this bit is quite dull...

Hope comma sorts himself out soon rots. Don't suffer though, get him down the docs or homeopath or whoever. You need your rest!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 23/07/2010 08:27

Boredom: the sales are on and I live a 5 minute slow toddle to the high street and still I can't be arsed.

rots I was at the doc on monday to get my bp checked and as it's still high (for me - 131/88) he ran some bloods - all came back dandy yesterday and no anaemia - but I got well stuck in to the red meat first week and have been takinh my vits too. Let us know how the CO goes!

boxer Well my 3 weeks were up yesterday and whilst I rode I'm not sure whether it was award-winning!b

fanny Please to tell us what questions you had about Clyde's willy?

CUNextTuesday · 23/07/2010 09:00

Hom pronounced me a MILF last night. Remaining shred of self-esteem flung to the wall

iggypiggy · 23/07/2010 09:51

Am just cutting an pasting what I did post on PESH fred - apols...

Right - I have come to the following conclusion:

Monday = very quiet baby all day - movements v small, constant needing to wee (poss head fully engaged or close?) - that evening, bloody show - cramps etc... All day tues - mild cramps..

Weds = baby moving more - less weeing - almost no cramps = baby disengaged again?

So monday was some kind of practice run? But it all failed and am now nowhere... incredibly hormonal, but nowhere... so am still waiting - expect no more news from me for a while...

organiccarrotcake · 23/07/2010 10:07

MILF?

cunty this bit is well-known to be boring for interesting women. My mum said she used to go nuts looking after uz, as the ony "entertainment" was the local mum and baby group where people went to - talk about babies. And knit squares for blankets for people in cold countries, or Afrika or something. She was never sure. But it's not really "done" to say you're bored, or you don't like some parts of being a mum. Yet I am convinced that virtually everyone feels the same - and those who don't are too boring to matter.

I like the book "Motherhood, Loving Every (Other) Minute Of It" which somewhat broke the taboo for me when I had LC and was feeling just the same. It's worth a read (I have a copy somewhere if you'd like me to post it to you - FB me your address if so).

Speaking of which, box, I'm off to the PO once I'm dressed but at the moment I'm sitting on the sofa with gunk on my head to try to get rid of head lice. You have that joy to come when your little ones get to school. 'Course I can only use the eco friendly breastfeeding safe stuff which costs 4x as much as the chemicals and needs doing several times.

Oh! YOB just come in from school run, given me brekkie and said he's posted the parcel! Lovely man.

ski good re iron

organiccarrotcake · 23/07/2010 10:16

iggy what's the MW say about your baby's position? When are you seeing her next?

iggypiggy · 23/07/2010 10:20

I don't see a midwife. But off to dr this afternoon... Position is always good, but has only been 2/5 engaged in previous appts.

CUNextTuesday · 23/07/2010 13:15

MILF = Mother I'd like to fuck. Already I'm being defined by my ability to procreate

organiccarrotcake · 23/07/2010 14:39

Blimey! Charming

iggy let us know what doc says.

I had an idea. I have some preggo stuff I'm not planning to keep around as it's bulky but can't be bothered to ebay. How about we have a PESH stuff swaparound thing? So I've sent box the hypno book and CD asking her to pass it to the next PESH after she's finished. I have other stuff I will sort through and am happy to pass on to PESHs on the basis that it gets passed to another in due course. Anyone else have anything like that?

CUNextTuesday · 23/07/2010 15:28

Cautious yes - I'm waiting to hear from a BESHpal about whether her BOC is a goer (mc'd a few months ago), if so much of it will be going to her...

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 23/07/2010 16:59

Thinking of iggy but asking no questions.

Yes, rots. I have already sent the hippo book and CD to silver. happy to offer other bits as they become surplus to requirements.

Ok, so I have found a name for my current baby nightmare: Grunting Baby Syndrome. It's worst from middle of the night feed until breakfast. She sleeps through. I do not.

BUT she has been asleep, quietly (well, with the odd, single shout) in the big pram in the garden for almost four hours now. I cleaned the kitchen and tidied/hoovered the dining room. Now rewarding myself with cheese and onion crisps. She's going to love the stench of them when she has her next feed

BTW, my husband and I are no longer sharing a bed. He has our bed, I am in the nursery. I'm not even routinely sharing a bed with a baby, as she is happy in the big cot already - though I found her grunting lessened when I pulled her in beside me for a couple of hours this morning. But we are all happy.

iggypiggy · 23/07/2010 18:23

Not much news, I am 1.5 cm dilated... Baby in right position, still 2/5 engaged... Have appt booked for tues to talk about options, but dr is hoping something will happen before then...

I am ok, much more cheerful now... Sorry for selfishness of posts...

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 23/07/2010 18:43

good news on dilation front iggy. sure it will happen before Tues. hopefully this end of the weekend. no need to apologise - we might not understand how you feel being overdue, but none of us want you to feel rubbish. Just look after yourself and - yes, i know everyone says it - get some sleep while you can. x

CUNextTuesday · 23/07/2010 20:12

Come on iggy!!!

SilverSky · 23/07/2010 20:35

Wasn't Steph Croxford's Mr President a bit of a bargain at about £2500 !!!! Oh to be a profeshunal rider!! If only I had the natural ability and talent, facilities and readies in that there sterling. I don't. So I'll stick to what we do best - not a lot.

Blood test yesterday has left me with a huge bruise. The woman who takes the blood is nice (used to ride) but she forgets that the drs don't always tell you stuff eg that you are supposed to take a form with you so she knows what blood to take. FFS I have only the one type of blood so I can't see her going too wrong! Luckily I had my maternity notes and found the form on there. Good job cos I would have been sent away sans blood test.

I know I can't wait to finish work and I still have ages to go. At the same time I am sort of prepared for the boredom factor too. Hopefully I will cope.

I am now watching Celeb Masterchef. My life revolves mainly around grub at the mo.

CUNextTuesday · 23/07/2010 21:45

Mine too slither - alas not my grub...

Am drinking champagne. Suspect I may live to regret this.

organiccarrotcake · 23/07/2010 23:12

Also was drinking champagne tonight to celebrate work contract (YOB's).

FannyPriceless · 23/07/2010 23:19

MrP has gone to A&E so I am having my first evening alone in the house with two children. Why has he gone to A&E? He ate his dinner too fast. Musn't make a joke though as he is in lots of pain with a piece of steak stuck in his oesophagus. He spoke to the after hours doctor who said he needs a muscle relaxant to free it. Yuck.

I am coping OK. Clyde is doing his snuffly pig thing in the basket and Bonnie has been asleep so far. Fingers crossed they don't both kick off at once.

ski My willy questions for the GP were mostly just basic stuff about baby boy anatomy. e.g.
Q. Which bit is the foreskin?
A. You can't tell yet and won't be able to until he starts playing with it and the skin separates.
etc.
(Can't divulge any further questions specific to Clyde's anatomy in case this thread comes to light in 30 year's time when he's a famous writer/architect/actor/professional tennis player.)

CUNextTuesday · 24/07/2010 09:02

lol@ champagne - Rastus slept from 11.30pm till .30am, then fed for 40 mins and we had a play till 8 and he's been asleep on Hom's chest since then
