I can't believe you have name changed again. You are completely obsessed Wink!!!! Glad to hear he enjoyed it though.

I seem to have done a lot of thinking about Christmas, but really need to get a wriggle on if I am to make this lovely hampers for presents that I am planning with all home made goodies. Bearing in mind I am no domestic goddess (and dh cooks every night he is here!) I need to be starting now in case we need more than one attempt!!!

ps do like the latest name best I think so far!

Helloooooo everyone.

TheBrideOfBlatherstein · 15/10/2010 17:33

Hey Pinkjenny!! Glad to have you back. How are you? :)

Spoil sports on the name changing Wink I love Halloween and get almost as over excited as I do about Christmas. I nearly name changed again today Blush I keep thinking of new ones that are much better than the last. DrJekyllandMrsBlatherskite was today's possibility.

I need you to come back to the Christmas thread so we can compare Nigella Pud recipes Lee. The 'Ultimate' one has prunes in and I'm not sure I'm keen on prunes

HerGHOULPoirot · 15/10/2010 19:26

Oh dear I thought PinkJenny was you again Blatherskite Blush.

Sorry PinkJenny - it wasn't my fault really! Hello how are you?

TheBrideOfBlatherstein · 15/10/2010 20:48

lol. Not me this time. All mine have had some part of Blatherskite in them.

I just got an e-mail to say that I have won a competition to meet Oliver Jeffers Going to take the children. We get to meet him, get a signed book and make a video with him reading his new book!!! I'm so excited I feel a bit sick! Serious diet now. I CANNOT be fat in a video with Oliver Jeffers!!

HerGHOULPoirot · 15/10/2010 20:53

Ooooooh how exciting - will we all get to see the video?

Imogen has just gone to sleep now - almost 2 hours after she first went to bed!!!! She's had a bad tummy I think, woke up with a dirty nappy but after I changed her was back to her giggly playful self for an hour so hopefully now better and she'll sleep all night. [ever hopeful emoticon]

HerGHOULPoirot · 15/10/2010 20:55

LaDiDaDi - I was just thinking, I've been meaning to ask you about if you had any joy with the school and your concerns about your DD? Ignore me if I'm being nosey though...

TheBrideOfBlatherstein · 15/10/2010 20:58

I think so. Then I'll really need a name change after being outed Wink

On no Lee - hope he stayed in bed for the rest of the night for you. Imogen woke at 2.30 for milk then at 6 for the day!!!! Tried all the tricks to get her back to sleep but she wasn't having any of it. Was really lethargic and miserable again and just wanted to be cuddled (thank god for cbeebies in these situations - is that bad?). I eventually gave her some calpol which did the trick and she perked up just as dh came home and was very excited to see him so all good there. I hope Andrew's cold doesn't turn into anything that makes him miserable.

LaDiDevilDiDie · 16/10/2010 16:11

Hello ladies,

Sorry to hear about the sicky ones and the not sleeping ones (I'm in that gang too).

HerGHOUL, not nosy at all, thanks for asking. School seem to have no concerns about dd, a couple of weeks ago I asked one of her teachers and all she really said was that dd was doing fine and seemed very bright. We have parents evening on Wednesday so I might find out more about how she is then.

Have had a lovely day here, really nice and Autumnal. Have been looking on line for a version of the Autumn Days hymn that actually has the words being sung iyswim. The musuc withe pics and lyrics is on You tube but I'm a dreadful singer so dd is not getting the best version!

I'm thinking about Xmas too, I've made my cake in half term week for the past few years and plan to do the same again this year. Thinking about making my own mince pies nearer the time too, I love mince pies!

Defintiely enjoyed having daddy home - almost as much as me! I got two hour nap this afternoon - proper deep sleep too as I knew dh was in charge and wasn't half listening out in my sleep! She's spent all day 'sharing' her toys and food with him and giving him cuddles which was lovely.

Glad to hear that he slept well for you, better to be a pain early in the evening than middle of night I always think!

LaDiDevilDiDie · 17/10/2010 07:45

Pleased that you had a decent sleep Lee and that you enjoyed your nap HerGHOUL.

We went out for a meal and pil babysat, but guess what my lovely MIL brought for me???

A pack of bakery mince pies! I'm going to have one now for brekkie before dd wakes up!

HerGHOULPoirot · 17/10/2010 22:06

Lee, that sounds like a lovely day!

It is sweet, the sharing thing. She does it with her dinner too, but basically she takes toys over and offers them to you, sometimes she'll take them back and sometimes you get to keep them. I think she does it because every time she does, we say "Oh thank you, that's nice sharing" and she likes the praise!!! Not sure she totally has the idea of sharing though as when with other children, she always wants want everyone else has...

We also had a lovely day, roast lunch at BIL and (soon to be) SIL and then nice walk by the river. It was nice to be invited to someone else's house to eat for a change, hadn't realised how much people have been coming here or meeting out and about until we went there today.

LaDi - I'm acutally a bit Envy about mince pies for breakfast...

TheBrideOfBlatherstein · 17/10/2010 22:13

DH ash this week off so lots of family time horrah :)

Hoping to get the lounge finished too.

BlueChampagne · 18/10/2010 13:25

Good - it's not just me thinking about Christmas then. Got DS1 sticking christmassy shapes cut out of old wrapping paper to cards yesterday then we hung them on the clothes airer to dry.

Need to do some more cutting now! Might need to make our own entertainment as our TV aerial fell down last night - not even any wind! It landed in the street too - luckily no-one was passing at the time. Rescued it and put it in back garden but not quite sure what to do next. DH will see if we can get a reasonable picture through digibox later I think.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 18/10/2010 20:17

I like EthelredTheUndead! I could only think of EthelredonAScaryDay which is a bit rubbish. Blatherskite will come up with some good ones - she's the queen of name changing [hwink].

I had to leave work at lunchtime today to collect Imogen as her tummy bug seems to have made a reappearance and she had got through all her clothes and spare clothes and didn't have any trousers left!!! She seems absolutely fine in herself. I've tried looking up advice about how to help her and have given her water instead of milk this afternoon and am waiting for duty GP to ring me back. Hopefully they will have some advice so I can help her get rid of it. She seems to have had it for 3/4 weeks now and it seems to be bad for a few days, then gets better for a few days then gets bad again but has never quite cleared up I don't think properly.

Blue - agree that is very organised for Christmas. I have lots of lists and plans but like Lee am thinking unless I get a wriggle on I am going to run out of time! I only have one more day of work then half term and dh has the week off so am looking forward to that!

TheBrideOfBlatherstein - hope you're having a nice week with your dh off!

TheBrideOfBlatherstein · 19/10/2010 20:52

I can't do better than EthelredtheUndead, that's genius :)

Hope Imogen feels better soon HerGHOUL

Having a lovely week with DH here. We're slowly finishing off the lounge. Repainted the lounge today. Same colour but a different finish and it looks much better so I'm glad we did it. We almost didn't bother.

EthelredTheUndead · 19/10/2010 21:18

lOVING YOUR WORK THERE!!

Hoping this has worked! [hgrin]

EthelredTheUndead · 19/10/2010 21:25

Hoping you're all having a good week. Anna still has a sore bum and now has rosy cheeks, so hoping it's teeth related (how many more times can i say this??!!!!) Hope Imogen is feeling better soon, HerGhoul. Tummy bug is defo doing the rounds up here. We know quite a few friends whose LO have had it. Not much fun.

Had a lovely weekend. My friends came over and looked after A, so DH and i went out for tea, a few drinks and to the cinema. was brilliant!

have any of you been watching Come Dine this week? my friend is on it!

No progress here on Christmas. Trying to work out how i could get anna to help make some cards. could i use foot prints or hand prints somehow? i am not very creative! Have bought about two presents. Got DH, DB and my two best friends and of course anna's b'day before then. Eeeeek!
