New thread everyone...!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Blatherskite · 11/10/2010 21:09

Went to my first ever AGM at Alex's school tonight. Was feeling good about joining in with the school...until one of the other Mum's asked me when my baby is due! Shock Sad

I could have cried.

I still might.

BlathAaarghskite · 12/10/2010 15:41

I have halloween name Grin

Anyone else joining in?

LaDiDaDi · 12/10/2010 16:55

Sorry about your experience at the AGM, Blatherskite. How annoying, I bet she was really Blush though.

My nickname is rubbish, seasonal variations are far too much for me to try to come up with!

I'm trying to think about why ds's latch should be suddenly really painful to the point where I think it's going to cause blistering. Any ideas here??

BlathAaarghskite · 12/10/2010 17:09

You could always follow my lead and have LAaarghDiDAaarghDi Grin

or LaDiDaDie?

or LaDiDaDiiscomingtogetyou?

or TheGhostofLaDiDaDi?

Not sure on the latch. Is he getting a bit complacent maybe and the latch getting a bit lazy? Is he using you for teething practice?

HerculesPoirot · 12/10/2010 19:45

What a cow Blatherskite, I always wish I could come up with some withering reply in those situations but I never can.

Now you're making me want to change my name too...

HerGHOULPoirot maybe?!? Hmmmmm.....

No idea on the latch sorry, although I did read a thread about this recently I am sure in feeding section I think Suggestions were teething, being pregnant(?!?), nipple thrush... can't remember any others. Not sure that is much help though...

Getting on fine so far without dh here this week which is good, touch wood it continues!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 12/10/2010 20:04

Hi all

Sorry to hear about the school gate politics Blatherskite. I can't be doing with all that bollocks. That's why i have not really joined many mum and baby groups because i am just not one for all that competitive parenting. I guess it will come to me eventually but try to avoid where possible!

Anna's having her picture taken at nursery soon-how grown up is that?! Can't believe she is 10 months tomorrow.

Oh and if any of you watch come dine with me, it is from Barnsley (where I used to live) next week and my friend is on it!!

BlathAaarghskite · 12/10/2010 20:33

HerGHOULPoirot is genius Grin You have to do it now!

Glad you're getting on OK on your own. He'll be home before you know it.

Catherine snuck in on Alex's school pics last week so she's had hers done too. She gummy grinned at the camera like a proper poser. Was so pleased as I was worried she'd cry when out of my arms around a stranger.

Will keep an eye out for Come Dine with Me. I'm originally from Doncaster so Barnsleys not so far away. We used to get the bus over to go swimming at the MetroDome.

HerGHOULPoirot · 12/10/2010 21:10

Done it!!!!!

Happy Birthday to Anna for tomorrow.

We'll have to upload some pictures soon so we can see how much they are all growing!

Ooooh I love come dine with me, will try to remember to watch it!

lol. It could be worse. She could have gone for ScarierWithTheMaskOff Grin

I like SkeletOnLee

HerGHOULPoirot · 13/10/2010 14:57

SkeletOnLee definitely!!!

HerGHOULPoirot · 13/10/2010 17:27

I've just put my halloween name on the Scream! It's the Halloween name change thread!!!

I don't diversify much from my safe threads....must be getting braver!

BloodAaarghsbite · 13/10/2010 21:55

I've gone the whole hog, name changed again and put it on the Halloween thread.

Good on you for posting outside your comfort zone HerGHOUL. It's good to see you on the rest of the board :)

HerGHOULPoirot · 13/10/2010 22:01

To be honest I see you and Lee around on other boards a bit and it makes me a bit braver!!!

Last night for the first time in ages Imogen only had one wake up for milk - woohoo! Let's hope it lasts until at least saturday when dh is back. At least I've finished work for the week now.

BloodAaarghsbite · 13/10/2010 22:07

I didn't pick Blatherskite as a name for nothing. I'll comment on most things Wink

Just pitch in whenever you see me. I'll look after you. :)

Catherine's had 4 nights of sleeping through now! 6.30pm till 5.45am-ish! It's still a very early start but at least we get some decent sleep overnight. We've put her to bed without Calpol tonight and it's going well so far. Hopefully the teething trauma is over for a little while. Her second tooth is almost through now.

I hope Imogen carries on being a good girl for you.

LaDiDevilDiDie · 13/10/2010 22:34

Ok, you all made me jealous with your great Halloween name changes so I joined in too!

I think that on Sunday am I was really engorged as ds had slept at my parents so when he latched on he didn't really have to try iyswim and I think that made him a bit lazy. It was really sore yesterday but I think my nipple recovered a bit when I was at work and it didn't seem too bad this evening Smile.

BloodAaarghsbite · 14/10/2010 10:18

I had a sore boob this morning too!

Alex was asking if he could go to Pre school yesterday as he needed to tell them something apparently. So I've taken the plunge and booked him in for Fridays too. Wednesdays he goes to swimming lessons in the afternoon and I don't think he'd cope with both plus, I quite like the idea of 2 mornings there, 1 at home, 2 mornings there and then a weekend. Seems nice and balanced. :)

Still waiting for Catherine's second tooth! C'mon tooth.

HerGHOULPoirot · 15/10/2010 12:58

Imogen has just done the most spectacular sick all over her, me, the chair, the beanbag and carpet in her room. I had to strip to my bra and knickers then try and clean her up and get her down for her nap! She still seems to have a bit of a stomach bug off and on but I thought it was clearing. I am hoping it was just that she swallowed too much water in the swimming pool earlier rather than illness... thank god DH will be back tomorrow just in case!

Blatherskite - that does sound nice and balanced and hope it goes well. Did he start today, or will it be another week he goes?

Got my copy of Delia's Christmas this week - am very excited!

TheBrideOfBlatherstein · 15/10/2010 15:28

He went today. Seemed to really enjoy himself. Picked him up in the car and took us all straight to soft play so he wouldn't miss out on seeing his friends and we've been there all afternoon (I love our annual passes!)

Next week Friday is an inset day though, the week after is half term and the week after that Monday is an inset day so he's got 3 weeks till he does another 4 day week but at least I know he's happy doing it.

I got Nigella's Christmas for Christmas last year so I didn't get a chance to make any of it. We're never at home for Christmas - except for last year when my Mum came here to cook because Catherine was 8 days old - so I won't get to go too mad but I will be making some things from it. I do have super ponce-tastic Sherry to use up now after all Wink
