I missed my 5k this morning because of my sore tummy. Can't wait for it to be better so I can go out again.

Shelves have gone to SIL's and we're now painting. Hopefully, we'll be able to get the new furniture tomorrow

HerculesPoirot · 02/10/2010 21:10

Oh no Blatherskite - hope you feel better soon. Your room sounds like it is coming along nicely...

Hi Claire - nice to see you back!

Ethelred - hope you manage to come back and tell us more soon...

Imogen still not quite right - she seems fine most of the time, but then gets upset very easily, won't eat very much and every time she has a dirty nappy we have to change all her clothes as it's so runny and coming out the sides. Might ring doctor on Monday if no change...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 03/10/2010 20:11

Well im back from London in one piece!
The show was excellent, had an amazing time.
Spent today shopping mostly in Hamleys to get birthday and Christmas bits for the little ones. Cant believe how expensive hamleys is though!
Met 2 member of JLS in a starbucks whilst Paul was dropping bags into left luggage at euston. Not actually sure which members they were but got their autographs for my niece which made her very happy and speak in apitch only dogs could hear for a good 20 minutes! Grin

Elizabeth is getting her first tooth. She was screaming the place down but now seems to have settled in Pauls arms.

Blatherskite · 03/10/2010 22:01

Catherine's first tooth is nearly here too. Alex's came through easily but she's got a huge blister on her gum where it's breaking through poor thing. She's got terrible diarrohea too which has given her a very sore bottom Sad

We now have 1 whole wall painted in the lounge and a bit of another two. The finished one is the most important one as it's the one that has the TV on :) We got the furniture up too so we have places to put some things again. Now we can move everything over to the other side of the room and paint that. Got so much more storage for the childrens toys now.

Alex is reufusing to sleep tonight. He's got an extra session at pre school tomorrow - the first time he's been on a Monday - he's going to be sooo tired!

Blatherskite · 04/10/2010 11:15

Yey! First tooth is here :)

BlueChampagne · 04/10/2010 13:14

5k Blatherskite? You a runner? I am trying to start running from CM to office (about 1 mile) and back in a bid to lose the Mummy tummy by Christmas. Not a very inviting time of year to start tho.

Conrad is up to 5 teeth, crawling, standing, cruising - he keeps looking as if he's thinking about taking his first step.

HerculesPoirot · 04/10/2010 20:07

Glad you had a lovely time ABF, I reckon you deserve it with your back and not v helpful boss.

Congrats on all the teeth coming through, Imogen has her 7th one just come through I noticed today. Probably wasn't helping the nappies! Since lunchtime yesterday though she has stuffed her face and the childminder today gave her extra as she kept wanting to eat! I'm taking it that a sign she is better now.

This morning she managed to get hold of a cork coaster and bit a piece off, we could see her chewing it and tried to get it out of her mouth at which point she did a big gag and out it came with quite a bit of sick! Nice. Luckily our hallway has wooden floors so easy to clean and missed both me and dh.

I am impressed with all this running. I've been trying to walk more and not always drive to help my weightloss. So far I've lost half a stone. Just another 13 half stones to go then...

Blatherskite · 04/10/2010 20:42

You wouldn't know it to look at me BlueChampagne, but I try to run 5k 3 times a week. Saturdays is an organised run that we gets timings for. Missed last saturday due to tummy bug and will miss next saturday as I'm going to be spending Friday night at the pub with a friend and won't be ready for running at 9am the next morning!

I've put some weight back on recently so need get a bit better with the dieting and maybe up my distance. Not easy now the weathers getting worse though.

Hopefully, more of Catherine's teeth will turn up now the first one is through. Poor thing has really struggled so we could do with getting them out as quickly as possible.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 04/10/2010 21:04

Hi all

Sorry not been on for a bit, had a crazy week last week! Anna has had diarrhoea (or however you spell it) since friday, but we are convinced it's her teeth as besides the exploding nappies, she is very happy in herself. We went up to visit the ILs at the weekend and BIL and SIL took her out for a few hours. when they got back, she was just in her vest and tights, apparently just as they'd fasened her into her car seat, she was sick all over herself, the car seat and the car! Apart from that though, since she started with the diarrhoea she has literally only had 15 mins of crying where she was upset, and we did call the out of hours doc who suggested it was either teething or gastroenteritis. Anyway, she has had a very sore bottom so we think it's her teeth. I just wish they'd get a bloody move on as DH had to stay at home to watch the golf 'work from home' today and i'm having to take leave tomorrow...
Sounds like similar situation to you Blatherskite (the poo, not the golf that is!)

Glad Phantom was good ABF, i have seen it, but many moons ago. would love to go again.

Need to keep thread going! I like having all my online pals to talk to in times of need! :o

Blatherskite · 04/10/2010 21:23

That sounds exactly like Catherine at the moment Ethelred.

FWIW, I've found alternating Vaseline (to create a barrier and protect the skin) and Sudocrem (to treat the soreness) has been the best routine for helping with the sore bottom. Nothing else to do but wait for them to come through. Poor mites Sad

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 04/10/2010 21:33

It's reassuring to know it's not just Anna, Blatherskite. i was starting to get just a tiny bit worried. i keep imagining that she'll wake up tomorrow with a full set of gleaming gnashers! I will be so disappointed if it's only one! :o

BlueChampagne · 05/10/2010 13:12

5k 3 times a week Blatherskite - wow! I'm still doing intervals - 100 strides running then 10 walking till I get a bit fitter.

Anyway, I'm really here to boast about 2 firsts in 24 hours - Conrad's first steps and (more excitingly for me) first ever night sleeping through (8.30pm to 6.30am).

I do hope life gets easier for everyone teething at the moment.

Blatherskite · 05/10/2010 15:38

Sounds impressive but I'm obviously doing it wrong as I have yet to lose all the baby weight Sad

I manage 3 times most weeks but I have been known to drop the occasional run. Like this friday...got a friend coming to visit who is going to meet her Dad for the first time in 15 years the day after. She wants to go to the pub the night before for some dutch courage which will no doubt mean a lie in on Saturday instead of the run. Who am I to argue Grin

intervals is the best way to get fitter and increase distance. I did that when I first started. I need to do it again to get up to 7.5-10k. No fun when it's cold, dark and wet though.

mrspear · 05/10/2010 16:04

Hello again

I have lost 1/2 the baby weight which has surprised me as i have done nothing (except moaning about my fat bottom!); so well done for all the running.

My little DS has 6 teeth now - the bottom 2 seem very little compared to the top 4. It is a rotten - he has gone from sleeping through to waking 4 times

Blatherskite · 05/10/2010 18:07

Catherine can crawl!!! :)

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 05/10/2010 20:32

that's great batherskite!

Hi Mrspear, should have said hello the other day! Blush

Anna is still having very runny, explosive nappies. So having to take another day off work tomorrow, what a pain. Hope you are all ok.

HerculesPoirot · 05/10/2010 22:33

Well done Catherine!!!!! Crawling and teeth all in one week - busy girl.

Ethelred sorry to hear Anna isn't too well. Hope she feels better soon.

Imogen is definitely better - she still hasn't stopped eating, catching up from last week I think. I don't know if it is similar to Anna, but Imogen had dodgy nappies and was a bit off her food from last Wednesday to Sunday. Her nappies were very runny so that it often went a bit on her legs or tops or sleeping bag poor thing. All seem better now so fingers crossed.

I have the evening off tomorrow night - going for bowling night with other people from work which will be nice!

I'm with mrspear - any form of exercise currently impresses me!

ILs gave us a nappy cream called metanium
(I think) it was brilliant! Cleared it up after one application!

Are any of you watching Downton Abbey? I am just catching up with it on Sky box. It is great!

BlueChampagne · 06/10/2010 12:37

Only week 1 of the running so we'll see. I think it's more the tum that has to return to its pre-baby proportions rather than actual weight - otherwise I'll have to buy some more winter trousers!

With DS1 I was back to cycling 80 miles a week at this stage which certainly did the trick, especially with him on the back and his pannier full of nursery stuff. Hoping to get a trailer in the spring.

Blatherskite · 06/10/2010 14:53

Periods are back Sad

AmazingBouncingFerret · 06/10/2010 16:54

Im dumping the lot of you, none of you were nearly enough impressed with my story of meeting JLS, who im not actually a fan of but still. I got their autographs dammit! Wink
Well done everyone on exercise! I havent actually done any but it's hard for me so i'll let myself off. I am definitely in size 10 jeans now, my size 12's just fall down and more than once Jake had to admonish me for having a builders bum. "muuuuum, you've got a bare bum again" promptly followed with him trying to hoist my jeans up for me. Thankfully this all happened in my kitchen and not in public. I have the decency to wear a belt or a long coat if im going out. Wink
Elizabeth doesnt seem so "tubby" now she is so mobile. She's such a little charmer now, constantly dancing and trying to sing.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 06/10/2010 17:01

ABF, i am sorry about not commenting on your JLS spot. It's just that i am still so over-come by seeing Timmy Mallet at my in-laws local, that no other celebs really cut the mustard! ha ha ha! :o

Nappies still grim. phoned doc this morning who said he thinks it might be a bit of gastroenteritis and if no better by mon to take her in for an emergency appt, just to give her the once over. Ho hum.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 06/10/2010 18:54

Well that's just not fair. Timmy Mallet top trumps JLS any day. Sad Envy
