New thread everyone...!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HerculesPoirot · 29/09/2010 13:42

Yes! It did cross my mind for a minute when you were describing how you were feeling the other day...

Hope you feel better soon though to end the worry!!!

Are you going back full time? Hopefully once you are back it won't be nearly as bad as you think it might be. Not the most sensitive comment from your dh! I hope you are wrong about this thread...

Imogen isn't quite herself this week. After her temperature on Sunday her temperature has been fine, but she seems to have a bit of a chesty cough and she's gone off her food, some mealtimes eating actually nothing and other times only have half, maybe 3/4 at best what she was eating last week. Ive just let her have what she wants and not forced anything this week. Her nappies have been much more watery and green (sorry if tmi) so I'm going to keep an eye on her over the weekend and maybe ring hv or doctor if she isn't any better. I'm not sure there is much you can do when they are that litte, but then this is my first time so I don't want to ignore something if I shouldn't.

She is however now quite confidently cruising around furniture, but mostly by side stepping. If you hold her hands she isn't very good at stepping fowards yet!

Weather here is miserable, but on the plus side the ryder cup was a washout and dh has had to come home early (from a 'work' day there!).

Blatherskite · 01/10/2010 15:42

I keep looking at it too and seeing no-one else has posted. Then I don't post cause I don't want to look like I'm the only one here.

I hope it doesn't die, I like having you lot to chat to with children the same ages. Sad

Sounds like you're doing the right thing with Imogen Hercules. Funny nappies would indicate a tummy bug but all you can do for that is keep her hydrated and give her as much to eat as she will have. Give her some favourites for a few days and maybe extra milk to keep her calories up. She'll get back to normal as soon as she's feeling better.

HerculesPoirot · 01/10/2010 16:34

Thanks for the reassurance! I'm going to make a pledge to post, even if it means two posts in a row. I like having this thread, especially as Imogen is my first to double check things with. It really, really kept me sane in the early days (when I was a lurker actually!) to know that her feeding every 5 minutes was normal!!!! If I start spouting too much drivel though you have to tell me...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/10/2010 20:40

Hello everyone.
Not much to report here. Elizabeth still not liking lumps from a spoon but is enjoying little bits of finger food, including the dog's bakers complete meaty chunks Blush She heads straight for it as if it is the tastiest food going smacking her lips as she crawls.
She's just started cruising, so is whinging pretty whenever she is not stood up!

Have just kitted out Jake and Elizabeths room with a new bed for Jake, it's from Ikea and has loads of room underneath for storage and has a blue canopy on the top, he loves it bless him. Bought aload of the trofast storage units aswell, they are amazing!

Going to London tomorrow for our 8th wedding anniversary, going to see phantom of the opera, am soooo excited. Grin

Elizabeth did something extraordinary tonight before bedtime, she was playing with her vtech rocket shape sorter thingy and she actually got the blue square in the correct hole! Complete fluke obviously but she was pleased as punch at the round of applause she got from us all!

Hope everyone else is ok.
Really dont want this thread to die! Sad

LaDiDaDi · 01/10/2010 21:16

Hello, have had loads of internet/pc probs at home and didn't want to get caught on Mumsnet in my first week or so back at work so haven't been on for a while. Hope everyone is ok, will try to read back to catch up.

I really don't want this thread to die out either, to me it feels like a really safe space for us to reflect about what's going on in our lives. I would find it hard in rl to talk to one person about all of the range of stuff that we think about here iyswim?

ABF, we have those storage things in dd's room and in our big cupboard space, they are indeed fab! Have a lovely anniversary Smile.

Hi

Can i join? My DS was due in Dec 09 but came 10 weeks early in Oct 09.

He is crusing and proper crawling; oh and he loves eating!

Blatherskite · 01/10/2010 21:23

I don't think Catherine's ever going to crawl. She walks her hands along from sitting and will pull herself until she's laid out flat on the floor but her legs just don't seem to want to join in.

She is beginning to cruise though and even took about 3 steps using the blocks trolley today. Like Elizabeth, she wants to be stood ALL THE TIME and if I'm sat close enough to her, she will just climb me then stand there grinning at me and wobbling - it's very cute. I think she's just going to go straight to walking.

She can get the balls in her Dinosaur thing and loves it when it plays the tunes as she gets the balls in the holes. Might have to di out our Vtech Rocket shape sorter and let her have a go :)

Hope you have a lovely time in London tomorrow ABF. Make the most of your child-free night.

Happy Anniversary ABF!

Hello Mrspear - the more the merrier.

Thanks for the reassurance about Imogen - after a long nap this afternoon she was all miserable again like Sunday so quick dose of calpol to help her. All she wanted to do was sit on my lap and be cuddled and she is not really a cuddly baby usually - always wanting to explore where she shouldn't be!

Lee - the thought of it hopefully will be harder than the doing it, and if you're anything like me when you're there, you'll relish the nice clothes and being able to drink tea and coffee safely, and then when you're home you'll love that too! I've come to the conclusion I must just be very fickle as I seem to love whichever I am doing at the time.

I almost wrote nice-ish, then thought that perhaps everyone else dressed better than me!!! To be honest I'm usually in tracksuit bottoms at home and being able to wear a necklace occaisaionlly has been a novelty!

Also being the maths geek I am, I've worked out we need to post at a rate of 50 messages per week to get a nice shiney new thread just in time for the first birthdays... that's approximately 7 a day. Obviously we can go faster, just not slower!!!!

Was going to add another post but that would make 13 and that seems like a bad number to end the day on.

Blatherskite · 01/10/2010 22:32

So I'll have to do 2 Grin

Welcome mrspear :).

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/10/2010 07:55

Im beating you all to the first post of today.
see you all when i get back. excuse typing, trying to eat rice krispies at same time

Blatherskite · 02/10/2010 08:04

Gah! I was here but didn't post. Envy

Today is TV-day. The new TV is going up on the wall.

We're also painting and getting new furniture. It's going to be busy...and expensive!

Claire236 · 02/10/2010 08:24

I don't get on mn much these days but the thought of the thread not being here on the odd occasion I do come on has spurred me into posting.

ds2 is crawling at an alarming speed & cruising. He discovered the bookcases this morning & I got to him just as he started emptying the bottom shelf. He's now banging on the piano pedals. Basically he likes anything that makes a noise.

Blatherskite · 02/10/2010 10:52

The TV is on the wall!!

Now to clear the shelves so they can go to SIL's and I can have new ones :)
