New thread everyone...!

Did some shopping today. Bought a lovely tights/shorts/top combo from Next and a few bits from Mothercare. Even managed to find a Hat/Scarf/Mittens set that perfectly matches the coat I bought her in there!

Baby girl shopping is so much fun Grin

Got my arse kicked by my brother at Parkrun this morning. He finished 24th - I came 110th!!! Ah well, he has been running a lot longer than me and more often too.

HerculesPoirot · 19/09/2010 00:02

Hello! Finally got round to name-changing (I think - if it has worked this is Hendo!)

I am still impressed that you manage to run at all to be honest - I've not even got as far as putting on my exercising clothes, let alone doing anything!

Hope you had a nice afternoon LaDi.

LaDiDaDi · 19/09/2010 08:53

Thanks Hercules, we had a lovely time. Sun was shining and ZingZillas were Zinging Smile. Dd got her face painted and had a go on the climbing wall. Ds was very well behaved and slept for most of it. Love the new name btw. Are the little grey cells working hard this morning, mon ami?

I'm really impressed by the running too Blathers, my friend is doing the Great North Run today and I keep thinking that I should try to do it next year....

Going to my gran's 100th birthday party this afternoon (not the gran who was very ill in the summer) so hopefully will have a nice time with family. Dp is coming with me, hope he doesn't have a panic attack but I do think that he is starting to feel a bit better so will see how it goes.

Blatherskite · 19/09/2010 10:11

Loving the new name Hendo. Reminds me that I need to buy Hercules on DVD for Alex. I love that film :) What made you choose it?

I'm not sure my running is all that impressive. Still takes me over half an hour to complete 5k. The fastest guys finish in 15 minutes and my brother did it in just over 20 yesterday. Been lax on the diet since we got back from holiday too so I've put on a little weight so having more weight to lug round with me won't be helping. Means that I haven't lost all the baby weight in 9 months either Sad Good incentive to start again though. It WILL all be gone before her first birthday. I always struggle to shift baby weight. We're not having any more now though so it's a good reason to get it all gone this time.

HerculesPoirot · 19/09/2010 10:19

I am a huge Agatha Christie fan and have read all the Poirot books - I thought it might be taken but it wasn't! What made you choose your new name? I looked up what it meant - good name!

Whatever you think about your running it is definitely impressive, and you are at least doing exercise. I have about 6 stone to lose in total (I was this weight before getting pregnant so no chance of blaming baby weight!) and have managed 4.5 lbs so far. Not sure this week has been very good though... will see in the morning!

LaDi - hope your dp is OK this afternoon, and glad to hear he is feeling a little better now.

Blatherskite · 19/09/2010 10:31

I've never read the Poirot books. I think I've watched them all on TV though. I bet the books are better.

It was the meaning of Blatherskite that made me choose the new name. Just seemed so fitting Wink

Thank you for being impressed with the running Blush It's been hard work getting out some days but I am pleased to have made the progress I have so far. I have about another stone to go once the baby weight is off so hopefully, if I can get motivated again, I will be able to lose some more soon. I think gaining the bit I have since holiday is what's making it harder at the moment - feeling a bit sorry for myself that all the dieting and hard work isn't paying off right now. I was wondering if maybe my periods are coming back? I did read on here somewhere that people had gained weight right before the first one after having had a baby. That's going to be a shock if it is - 18 months of no periods has been lovely.

minnie25 · 19/09/2010 22:48

I must admit I have been lucky that I have a text book child.Sleeps all night from 9.30pm until 8.30am and even cutting teeth seems to be pretty painless so far.

LaDiDaDi · 20/09/2010 13:54

I think that my periods will be coming back soon, Blatherskite. Been feeling very achey in my pelvic area. AF will probably arrive on Weds in time for my first day back at work!

Blatherskite · 20/09/2010 14:14

Yep, definitely achey and swollen and bloated too. It'd almost be nice to come on to make it go away.

We're down to 4 feeds a day here so they should be back soon. Still not much luck getting her to take formula milk from either a beaker or a bottle still. Saw HV today who says I can try cows milk as it's not her main drink so will give that a go tonight.

Blatherskite · 20/09/2010 14:54

Got Catherine weighed today. She's 9 months old and only 14lbs!!

HerculesPoirot · 20/09/2010 19:45

Small but perfectly formed Blatherskite!

My periods are back now, had 3 so far and had forgotten how much I hated them!!! I don't know if they are just worse now, or if I have just forgotten!!!!

Catherine has her first cold too. It doesn't seem to be bothering her too much. She's very noisy when feeding now though :)

LaDiDaDi · 22/09/2010 19:53

Ds has a really yucky green snotty nose but the rest of us are fine.

First day back at work was nice, felt good to be smartly dressed all day without getting bits of food, paint etc on me Smile.

HerculesPoirot · 22/09/2010 20:57

LaDi - glad your first day back was nice, I'm still enjoying being back at work too. It's definitely nice to be 'normal' for a few days a week!

Imogen has also had a cold - we bought one of those plug in karvol things for her room and it was brilliant as she seemed to be able to feed better at night and settle quicker. May be just coincedence though.

Lee - glad you're back and that you had a lovely time at the Christening.

Blatherskite · 23/09/2010 10:21

I put on some nicer clothes this morning and almost immediately got snotted on!

Sometimes I really fancy going back to work...

Hi all

Hope you're ok. Just marking my place.

HerculesPoirot · 24/09/2010 10:12

Hello everyone! Hope you're all well. Blatherskate just seen you posts on your sleep thread, hope Catherine naps for you soon.

Weather turned a bit miserable here - definitely autumn now. Have ordered a few more bits and pieces online to complete Imogen's autumn collection! Just need to find some time to buy myself a couple of pairs of trousers now.

Anyone doing anything nice at the weekend?

Thanks for your support guys. I have updated with today's antics :)

I think we're going to do some painting this weekend. We bought ourselves a new TV yesterday - a flat screen to mount on the wall away from sticky fingers - but it's going to mean rearranging the lounge and buying all new furniture as our current stuff won't work. Hoping Catherine sleeps else it's going to be very hard work!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 24/09/2010 22:18

Hi all

Hope you're all ok. Had a good week here, anna seems to have settled really well into nursery and work is going ok. DH has been working lots of long hours but hopefully not for much longer.
Am off up to newcastle this weekend for a hen party, so am v excited for that! Lunch and drinks, spa and more food and drinks. Great!

Hope the periods improve Lee, have you seen the doc about it? Blatherskite, going to check your other thread.

Oooh Lee - take some pictures of your ewok cupcakes, they sound brilliant!

How did A sleep for you in the end last night? Imogen has luckily never been a 'sicky' baby really, only when gagging on food (although this has been spectacular once!). She did however tend to be a bit more sick after each feed when we first moved onto formula, and this lasted about 2 weeks I'd say. In the end I stopped winding her and this seemed to help, but not sure if that was just coincidence as she'd grown out of it.

Enjoy your hen weekend Ethelred and your new TV blatherskate!
