Hello ladies,

Hope the DLA is approved for you ABF and pleased that your sister's wedding went well.

Ethelred, that sort of slog each morning sounds hideous, like you've done a day's work before you even get there! Sorry that Anna is full of snots but it's good that she's settling at nursery.

Dp is very depressed at the moment, his last bad bout was around 3 years ago and it was awful. Hope that he gets better quicker this time.

I've been going through my ASOS and Boden orders today, I was thinking about a dramatic new look for going back to work but after trying on almost everything I think I'll be keeping the black trousers and bright jersey tops so I'll look like I've never been away Smile!
Was a bit peed off with the Boden delivery people though, we were out so they just dumped my parcel in front of the garage door, not even properly behind the bins. Our neighbours are really good and one set is almost always in, in fact at least two houses away on each side would be happy to take a parcel for me or they could have but it in the top caddy part of my recycling bin but instead they left 80quid's worth of stuff in full view of a pretty busy street Angry.

hendo77 · 10/09/2010 19:19

Ethelred, well done on getting through the first week! I have to say I appreciated not having to work these last two days and now realise quite how organised I have to be.

ABF - really pleased the wedding went well and hope the DLA is approved as it sounds horrible to try and work with that pain.

LaDiDaDi - sorry to hear about your dh and I hope her gets better quickly. Do you have lots of support around you both to help out?

Al - how are you nights going? Hope they are getting better

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

We had brilliant naps yeaterday (3 hours total!) and then an absolutely brilliant night where she slept from about 8pm (went down at 7 but had a couple of wakes) until 5.30am this morning!! She was then awake and had woken up DS so our day started at 6am but I was so rested after the ful nights sleep, I didn't care :)

Not gone so well today nap wise. She only had 45 mins this morning and then only 30 mins this afternoon but she has drunk all of her bedtime milk for the first time ever (although I only make half the recommended amount as we kept wasting it) and apart from one squeak, has been in bed since 7pm. Hoping for a good night tonight again - not expecting it, but hoping :)

Hoping everyone has good weekends...

hendo77 · 10/09/2010 20:51

That's brilliant Al - really pleased for you!

2 days with no posts!! This thread is getting really quiet these days Sad

Hope everyone is OK

LaDiDaDi · 12/09/2010 18:32

Al, I think the quietness is a bit of a vicious circle. I look and think "Ooh, no one else has posted, don't want to talk about myself again, better not post anything".

Will post random stuff as soon as possible!

Oh and you could check out my foot/fish thread in Style and Beauty!

Hello,

quickly popping on to post random stuff as agreed!

My mum has madly and a bit freakily guessed that her suprise treat for tomorrow is the foot fish thing! Can't believe that she guessed it! Will let you all know how it goes, I've painted my toe nails tonight as I didn't want to look totally like I had hooves for feet but then I wondered if it might be bad for the fish??

Dp hasn't been too bad today but it's difficult to know. He really can't concentrate on anything and is a bit vacant sometimes but he's not been tearful with me for the past couple of days. Had a nice day today actually, I got up with the dc and did stuff in the house and garden then after lunch we all went to the coast to a lighthouse and then to a nice park by the dunes then out for tea. Both dc were really well behaved, felt really proud of them both Smile.

I lurk more than post on S&B, some people seem to do nothing but buy clothes, though I suppose I buy a lot online and then send most of it back when it arrives lol. Need some flat but smart shoes for work and some sort of boots for me for winter/school/park if anyone hearhas any ideas?

hendo77 · 12/09/2010 23:05

Hello! I'm still here too, but sometimes worry about posting in case I come across as all me, me, me!!!

Feeling a bit emotional tonight as I had to say goodbye to my best friend who is going back Australia where she lives on Tuesday and I won't see her again now. She's been back since Christmas and it has been lovely to share the last, very special, 9 months with her. My parents are also back off to new zealand for 8 weeks the week after so I think it has also hit me that they are going as well. I know I'll be all fine about it once they've gone and I'm back at work just getting on with stuff but the last few days before they go are always so sad.

I will look up this foot/fish thread tomorrow - but my brothers in Thailand went to this bar where you put your feet, or any part of your body in a tank with these little fish and they ate all dead skin off leaving your feet all lovely and soft - is it similar to that? they said it was lovely and one of them has a bald head and did his head too - some of the bars there provide snorkels for it!!!!! Sounds like fun if it is that...

Imogen's sleep seems more settled here since that awful night last Sunday. Generally going to bed between 630 and 730 and waking up about 11/12 hours later with just one feed in the middle. I am hoping that at some point she will just stop that final feed without me having to do anything but I will see!

LaDiDaDi - that sounds like a perfect day and glad to hear you got to enjoy it with your dh too.

Hendo, saying goodbye to your friend must have been really hard but it's great that they've been able to see all of the changes in Imogen over the past 9 months.

Foot thing was quite good, it was soooo very ticklish at first, well it was for me anyway, I kept giggling out loud. The spa lady said that some people had screamed and others hadn't even managed to put their feet in the tanks. Our feet are better; mine still have some dry skin on the heels but they were really bad to start with, my mum's are great though. I will definitely go back! Mum had heard a radio advert for it so that was how she had guessed.

Lee, those shoes are lovely, I would have gone for the red I think. I bought these today in black. A bit frumpy but sooo comfy!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 13/09/2010 17:41

Hi all

Had a pap weekend. Anna has been ill all weekend and consequently, a nightmare. just would not be put down at all to sleep and having 1 hour screaming sessions...grrr. Happily she seems much better today, but kept her off nursery today just in case. So, have spent the day chasing her round the room as she tries to pull herself up on all manner of unsuitable furniture...must finish that baby-proofing!!

Hope your friend got off OK Hendo. It is sad that she had to go back, but so great, as LaDi said, that she got to spend so much time with you and imogen.

LaDi-fish foot spa sounds mega i would love to try that. I always fancied that detox one too where you put your feet in a foot spa an it draws all the impurities out of your feet. I love all that sort of stuff-DH just thinks I'm a marketing person's dream! ha ha ha! we did have foot massages though when we were in Thailand and they were mega.

Back to work tomorrow anyway...had to take leave to stay off with Anna today :(

hendo77 · 13/09/2010 20:25

Ooooh that foot thing sounds brilliant - I might ask for that as a Christmas present as people always ask what i want and I never have anything to say!!!!

Ethelred - I have no idea why, but they certainly are drawn to pulling themselves up on the most unsuitable and unstable things! Imogen has now started trying to move from one piece of furniture to the next, but they are always slighty too far away, or she's not quite in the right place. Glad she's feeling better today though, it doesn't sound like a fun weekend at all.

Thanks for all the nice messages about my friend too.

Hey maybe we should all meet up and go for our feet eating (by fish!!) :o

AlCrowley · 13/09/2010 21:32

Ooh, I want a fish foot spa now too. BF makes my skin so dry, my feet are awful! Quick google search would make it seem there are none near me though :(

Off to bed soon. Catherine is definitely getting better sleepwise but is still not good. We had another hour and a bit of screaming last night which is no fun at all. No overnight feeds anymore now though so hoping as she gets better at self settling, the screaming sessions will reduce.

She's standing but not cruising. She wants me to hold her while she stands all the time though which iis tiring. If I sit next to her, she climbs me - which is cute when we're playing on the lounge floor but not so when I'm trying to do something while next to her. She definitely wants to be up and about though. Ds walked just after his first birthday and I don't think she'll be far behind.

Hope Anna feels better soon Ethelred. Sorry to hear about your weekend.

Sorry to hear about your friends and parents going away too Hendo. Hope you get to see them again soon.

Watching all these shoe links with interest. My trainers are looking very sorry for themselves and I keep thinking I ought to get something a little more grown up and stylish. Loving the suggestions :)

AlCrowley · 15/09/2010 07:45

We had another good night last night. We still had a screaming fit in the middle of the night but it lasted for 20 minutes not over an hour!!

Hope everyone else is well and happy

AmazingBouncingFerret · 15/09/2010 14:18

Elizabeth keeps trying to stand now, she'll get halfway and then wont know where to go!

Are any of your little ones "talking" Elizabeth will say hello and ta and was just wondering if it's normal for the age??

AlCrowley · 15/09/2010 21:36

I'm pretty sure Catherine said 'Mama' today. She wanted to come out of her highchair while I was busy cooking and I think she was calling me :)

We get a lot of Mamamama here, usually when ds wants to be fed! He is starting to pull himself up on the furniture and can stand against furniture but can't really walk along it yet.

That gorgeous swimsuit that I ordered is going back Sad. It's far too short in the body so that on the right side where there is no strap my boob keeps popping out Blush. I thought that there had to be a reason why it was reduced so much, guess that was why.

We've had a bit of sleep regression here. Ds had been sleeping from 7.30-4am but he is now back to waking at 11pmish too.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 16/09/2010 13:07

Wow looks like I might have a little talker then. Jake didnt talk for a long time.

Ive got to arrange getting Jake and Elizabeth baptised, dont want to make a big fuss of it though, get in, have water flicked on them, get out and go to the nearest pub with childrens softplay and all should be good. Grin

My dad has offered me 200 quid for my digital camcorder that I never use so im gonna hit the shops at the weekend. 100 for Jake and 100 for Elizabeth. Get them kitted out for Autumn and Winter, im strangely excited..

hendo77 · 16/09/2010 15:50

No talking here - lots of different sounds though. Mostly dadadada so dh thinks it's all about him!!! Occaisionally I think she's trying to say a word (like woof when she see's these china dogs my parents have) but I'm not really sure. Can't wait to hear it though...

ABF - I bought some autumn/winter clothes for Imogen today, so much more fun that shopping for myself. Going to get some more bits tomorrow with my parents and probably a couple of new toys. Any suggestions for 9 month toys?

Sleep wise Imogen is still waking for one feed in the night - although this can be any time fro 10 - 4.30 am so not very consistent. I keep thinking she'll just not bother one night, then last night she woke up twice and would not settle without milk. To be honest though I usually just do whatever it takes to get her back to sleep in the shortest amount of time with least fuss. I think at some point I'll have to get tough!!!

Hendo, Ive just bought Elizabeth a hammer bench and she loves it, she had it a day and has mastered hammering the pegs. Im wanting to buy her something that she can roll across the floor soon. M&S do a great one that has little beads inside that makes a good noise and it lights up aswell.
