Scout19075 · 27/10/2010 23:17

Seriously, though, just tired and a bit brain-fried.

fidelma · 27/10/2010 23:22

Ok I'll dance on my owne! Sad

Scout19075 · 27/10/2010 23:31

If I turn it on at full volume it'll wake the sleeping baby AND the sleeping neighbors who do shift work at the hospital (one of them is a ward sister). I try to keep it polite as they are fab neighbors.

HappyTangerine · 28/10/2010 09:48

Happy Birthday Seb!

Igglybuff · 28/10/2010 18:33

Happy Birthday Seb!!
I've hardly had time to MN. Going back to work means no time on those days and rest of week I feel like I've got to squeeze more in. Work is tiring and it's strange being part time and having to go at 5 whereas before I'd work late without a question.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 29/10/2010 19:29

Thanks for Sebby's birthday wishes here and on the other site. It was a quiet one, with just him and I. DH can't take any time off until our holiday (two weeks tomorrow!) so I didn't complain. We're having a "birthday tea" with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on Sunday.

CalypsoFramboise · 01/11/2010 07:43

Happy birthday Seb hope you had fun with your parents :)

Hope littlepea and iggly your tiny babies are doing well and everyone else's babies are sleeping not too badly :o

HT is your cousin still doing well?

Am shattered, don't know if its teething or her perpertual cold (thanks nursery Hmm) but A sleeps only every 20mins until about midnight then every 1.5hrs wakes. V tiring as I'm sure you can imagine only too well. Made life harder for my self by running 9.5miles on Saturday followed by clubbing until 6am, haha didn't know I still had it in me :o

oh, and sadness that Annalise self weaned last week, just wouldn't bf at all :( Although I am sort of glad that it ended on her terms though. Will treat myself to some nice bras :)

Hope you all had fun on halloween [hsmile]

Igglybuff · 01/11/2010 07:50

Hi calypso! are you mad? Running on such little sleep! William is on his third cold but has a chesty cough too which sounds horrid. I think it's the time of year? Oh I meant to say earlier - yep still in Victoria! Nice and easy journey to work Grin sorry to hear A has weaned. W is showing no signs yet but I've got an appointment at a dietician to get hypoalllergenic formula just in case. princess how's F getting on with no dairy?

I've not had a scan or a date for one yet despite being to the docs two weeks ago Angry I'm 10 weeks now. Although decided it's all a mistake despite testing about 6 times! And feeling rough. Although could be a cold as well. I don't know.

HT how's your cousin? Have you met the little one?

OP posts:
CalypsoFramboise · 01/11/2010 13:51

iggly no scan yet? sounds really late to organise, is your GP usually unreliable?
I live down the road from Victoria so if you ever had a spare lunchtime spot on a Monday or Tuesday and fancy some company let me know and I'll pop up with Annalise :)

Poor W and his cough, really lucky A hasn't had one yet as all the others in the nursery have, expect its a matter of time :( Hope he gets well soon.

It's really quiet on here....?

Igglybuff · 01/11/2010 16:37

yes really quiet!

My GP was really good last time. I am going to ring them and chase as yes it's getting late!!!

I work on tuesday so def up for a lunch meet - wouldn't have william though. I'll send you a private message (we can do them for free now on MN) with my email address Grin

Cousin is doing very well thanks, looks wonderful. Baby has gone straight down into cot and sleeps very well, has found breastfeeding easy. I've not seen the little one as they are 400 miles away but the pics show him to be a handsome little thing. Full head of hair as well.Smile

SmileI don't know what to do with myself now Joe is sleeping in his cot. Down he goes at 6pm/7pm and he sleeps then until 12ish whe he wakes for boob. I'm downstairs with all this free time, sneaking peeks at him on the video monitor, its crazy. He's up at 5.30 most mornings and tears round the house like a mini tornado. Rarely sits still unless its for a feed and even then he's often standing there like a man at a bar going from one to the other Hmm. He is always on his feet unless he's climbing. Does anyone else find chasing around after the dc at this stage utterly exhausting?! Or is it just me?!

I am lucky that the entrance to a park is in our street and we go every day. Joe crunches through the leaves, holding my hand until we get to the swings and slide. Slide is attached to some climbing thing with stairs and a rope net-he's now climbing up both with speed. He's not at all interested in crafty things (we tried a messy Mondays craft class and he just wanted to make towers and stack and climb the chairs Hmm)but likes dancing to music. Its very funny to see him with a maraca in each hand wiggling away Grin

IgglY and Calypso Enjoy your meet-up, I so love meeting up with Igly, you'll have a fab time.

I can't believe you've not got a scan date yet Iggly, thats pushing it a bit. Sorry to hear W is ill, hope he feels better soon. Are things going well with the nanny?

Calypso Wow lady, you have some stamina!Grin I could understand the running but clubbing till 6am - I would have been zzzzz in a corner somewhere! Sorry to hear A has self weaned. Enjoy the lingere shopping and I hope you get some sleep soon Smile

BellaCullen · 02/11/2010 20:09

Calypso youre a mad and dont know how you live on so little sleep, clubbing all night sounds like great fun though,am with HT that would have been asleep in corner by 11pm too.
Sad that the bf has stopped but good that Annalise self weaned rather than you having to stop. That`s what am hoping for that Nathaniel will self wean at some point in the future.

Iggly with dd they gav me scan date really late I even phoned hospital a few times.Theyre a lot slower when its your second and it also depends how busy hospital is.Didnt have a scan till 14 weeks. With Nathaniel did recieve date quicker. You dont see the midwife as often either.

Still need to book Nathaniels 12 month jab,as hes having another operation next week will wait till after now.He needs a quick operation as theres plaque building up behind his lens so they need to clean it up and to have a good look inside and meassure the pressure.Am quite calm about it as it needs to be done and hes in the best hands. The frustrating thing is that he will need more frequent check ups again and loads of drops after.

HT yay for having your evenings back and Joe ssleeping in his cot.Nathaniel wakes up constantly at least twice before I go to bed and then as soon as Im in he wants a cuddle and feed. This goes on all night.Hes then wide awake at 5 am and has been for 5 days in a row now.Its so exhausting.Am so ready to night wean but will wait till after op.Hes also constantly ill so needs extra comfort.

xxxx

HumphreysCorner · 02/11/2010 20:27

Hi all, the days seem o fly by as Matthew is such a monkey handful. Still wakes 2 or 2 times a night and will only settle with a boob but if he feeds on the left one I am left with an open wound,

Should I get a letter about the combined MMR jab?

Big wave to all!

HC

Scout19075 · 02/11/2010 22:49

Even though S has been slowly but surely getting better at the nighttime sleeping (sorry, ladies), I am shattered. The medicine makes me an insomniac some nights. Or I'm up to go to the loo because it makes me thirsty as well, so I'm constantly drinking which means I'm constantly weeing. ARGH!

Eleven more sleeps until we leave. WAHOO!

Igglybuff · 03/11/2010 07:11

scout how long is your treatment going to go on for? Glad to here S is getting better at sleeping!

HC, I had to book the jabs myself. No letters since the 6 weeks jabs here.

Bella fingers crossed for N's op, hope it all goes well. I chased the docs and they said wait until the end of the week and then ring again and they'll chase the hospital...

HT wow at J climbing!! W hasn't discovered that yet (phew). He just likes to run. On concrete which I do not like at all what so ever. DH laughs at me as I stick really close to him in case he falls.

calpyso I've got your email and will reply Grin

Off to work today. Boo.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 03/11/2010 10:31

Iggly Boo to work. How is it going? When will you tell them about the newest addition?

Bella Thought and hugs to you re N's op.

HT S doesn't climb, just climbs over things (not up things, if that makes sense). He can do the steps, too, but it usually too lazy to do it. But yes, it's exhausting being on the go 24/7.

Calypso I take my hat off to you -- I couldn't even do 6 a.m. pre baby, let alone post one!

Treatment is expected to be 50-52 weeks, but could possibly be extended. I've just completed week 13. At week 12 they can do a test to see how it's going, but because my appointments got messed up (supposed to be every four weeks but it was six weeks from treatment start to first appointment) I'm having them done at 14 weeks. The appointment/test is the day before we go to the States.

Scout19075 · 03/11/2010 14:50

Are any of the Londoners (or non-Londoners who know the city well) who know Victoria Station? Is it easy to get around with a pushchair? I'm going to be there on Friday and just wondering how much I need to put on my "I need some help carrying S" face. LOL

HappyTangerine · 03/11/2010 21:01

Bella Will be thinking of you next week, hope all goes well for the operation. Give N a big cuddle from me. I hoope the sleep sorts itself out soon as well. We're still half co-sleeping- Joe goes up and settles in cot well but usually comes into bed with us for a feed. Last night he just slept and slept, didn't wake up for a feed and I left him zzz in the cot. It was really weird - my arms felt empty and I couldn't sleep! Dh thinks I am mad.

Iggly Sad for work. Are you counting down the weeks/days? Am researching next years holiday to the Lake atmGrin

HC I've had two letters about the MMR now, I think they're a bit keen on the uptake here.Still can't work out if they will do both 12m/MMR together. Am trying not to stress about it anymore. You weren't contacted about the last lot of jabs either were you?

Scout HUGE sympathy for you - 52 weeks of treatment is tough and the side effetcs sound grim. Yay for 11 more sleeps till you go home ad S sleeping better! GrinGrin I loved the new photos of Sebby on FB. All those years working in London and I can't remember what accessibility is like at Victoria, sorry!

Speaking to extended family, it seems like Joe may have inhrited his desire to climb and launch himself off everything from...er..me. Some of them seem quite traumatised by my antics as a child, I was apparently always climbing things as a baby and diving off. Sound familiar? Oh God...

I'm desperate to move to the Lake District. We're trying to work out viable business opportunities atm. In an ideal world I'd like to run a baby friendly holiday letting business and do some baby signing or toddler speech development classes on the side but am working out ways of raising the funds! Dh hates his job and is also keen to move there, it just suits us so well. I know that Joe would benefit fromm such an outdoorsy lifestyle as well-I feel so privileged to have grown up in the countryside. Must put a call in to my fairy godmother!

Igglybuff · 04/11/2010 06:11

scout I work around the corner from Victoria. Do you mean the tube station? It'll be manic as it always is, has no lifts and is being refurbished. Sorry, that sounds dramatic! It's a shame I don't work Fridays otherwise we could meet! The train station on the otherhand is busy but easy with a pushchair.

HT we can't decide when to go to the lakes yet. As we'll (hopefully, no scan yet) have another one it'll be a challenge to fit us all in the car (we have so much stuff!!!)

Work isn't great TBH. I had to tell my boss and HR I'm expecting again. New boss wasn't exactly understanding so I'm looking to move teams. I've still got a fair few friends at work though which helps.

Oh and baby/toddler lets sound fab HT. So many places are fine for older kids, less so for littlies. We ended up sleeping in the twin room and William had the main room as no room for his travel cot!
