scout glad you're getting through this treatment xx Seb has done so well, you must be really really proud of him. :)Bless him. oooh at presents! Grin

iggly Yay for the better sleep. The last few nights F has only woken once. But a couple of nights ago he woke 3 times. Pretty sure it's teeth.

Oh and on tuesday night he woke and was crying and coughing and very flemmy for over an hour. It's like he needs to be hoovered out. After he's done some snotty/mucousy sick he seems to be able to sleep again. I took him to the docs today so they could check his chest as he's been wheezy and chesty . She said it's clear but yes it is wheezy.
We're going away to France on sat so I hope he's perked up by then.

littlepea72 · 12/08/2010 21:20

HappyTangerine · 12/08/2010 22:07

On the mend now Iggly, thanks for asking

Scout19075 · 12/08/2010 22:29

Got sick earlier. Properly sick. Lightheaded, nauseous, vomitting, the works. Of course it started as Seb was waking up from his nap (he comes home from nursery and has a nap in his own space). Bless him, he was such a good boy. The first time I never even made it beyond sitting up straight and into a bucket and he sat there watching me with a sad face. Happened a few more times as we waited for DH to get home (was working locally today and missed his doctor's appointment to come home to take care of us) -- only managed to make it into the kitchen those times. And the whole time I was being sick or sitting on the floor trying not to fall over, he sat and played with toys. He didn't try to do any climbing or standing while I was sick and sometimes seemed to come over to have a cuddle and sit with me and play with his toys. The last few weeks between nap and bedtime he's been miserable but not today. Today it was like he knew something wasn't right and he was soooo good. And when he'd come sit with me or put his arms around me it really felt like he was trying to take care of me.

DH is making me some soup -- have just managed half a banana. Need to eat to take my pills.

So many things to be getting on with for camping on Saturday but can't move. In fact, sliding further and further down as I type.

Gah, sorry for the whining me post. Will catch up with everyone when I know I can keep food down and myself upright.

fidelma · 12/08/2010 22:42

HT will post tomorrow, re naming.

scout get to bed and get some more help. Are you sure you should be camping?

Scout19075 · 12/08/2010 22:46

I've been in bed since DH got home. Typing from bed with my camp blanket (it's fleece and snuggly), my water and soup and banana and tv and computer. Wanted to come on line to email my Mom who I was chatting with just before I started to feel poorly. DH is fabulous. I am very lucky.

Igglybuff · 13/08/2010 06:46

to scout. I agree with fidelma. Should you be camping??? I know it's your birthday and you love camping but will there be people to look after you? I know you were gonna do games and stuff - but you don't sound good :( bless Seb for being good - I think babies are more aware than we think.

HappyTangerine · 13/08/2010 07:45

Big hug for you scout and I agree about the camping. Am glad your dh is around to take care of you.

I've been looking at the pics on our Oct09 fb page, I hope people add more. Its lovely to see how the dcs are coming along but my goodness-they don't half grow quickly! I can hardly believe a year has gone by.

Igglybuff · 13/08/2010 09:30

I might add some more to the group.

HT I'm getting rather excited about the Lakes. We're off next weekend Grin Grin for two whole weeks Grin. I've been looking at walks to do. It's gonna be great!

Scout19075 · 13/08/2010 10:27

I know, I question the sanity of camping, too. However, just about my entire support network will be there so it's actually almost the perfect place to be -- someone else is cooking my food and doing the washing up, lots of arms to cuddle Sebby if needed (and not just arms to cuddle Sebby, but arms he knows). My UL also knows if it gets too much I'm leaving. Though I'd be hesitant to leave unless DH came, too, and he's got a specific role at this event. We shall see. I'm hoping that it's just for a day or two after I take the once-a-week medicine because that seems to be what did it. In which case I'll get through most of the week. Grin

HappyTangerine · 13/08/2010 15:09

My didymos wrap has arrived Grin. I'm not sure that its sane to get this excited about a piece of cloth but hey ho! Joseph is definately front crawling all over the place now and cruising around the furniture, v cute. More babyproofing needed though!

Also have new dishwasher on the way (thank God) and my vax is being replaced. Why do all electrical items break at the same time? Its like light bulbs!

scout Sounds like the camping might be just the tonic for you then. How are you today?

Iggly I am also ridiculously excited about the holiday, even more so now after we've all had this virus. My dh has been my best friend since we were 13 and I have never seen him as ill as he has been this past 10 days.Sad. Luckily antibiotics have kicked in for us both but I am struggling to take 8 tablets in one go each day. Last day of them tomorrow!
Have you got a backpack for the walks? We're toying with the idea.

fidelma thanks Smile

Have a great weekend all x

Igglybuff · 13/08/2010 19:01

HT we have got a backpack but you can hire them if you don't want to buy one. We're going to hire a pushchair to save bringing our monster from this company

Ooo what's the wrap like? I'm thinking of a sling for W as miss using one.

Just tucked up the last 3 children.dd1 has a lovely friend over for a sleepover. They have watched Alice in Wonderland under duvets with a blazing fire (scotland) and toasting marshmallows.Oh to be 10.they will now giggle for a few hoursWink I am off to bed dh is out (work)Hmm

HC have a great holiday Grin

HT we just did the blessing ourselves. The named godparents (fairy godparents) chose a reading/poem.my sil got a leather white scrap book and we asked if people would put some words of wisdom, poem, reading, picture etc into the book.Everyone put alot of thought into it and all the children have lovely books which they cherrish and often look at.I added the cards and other little bits and bobs, even children at the blessing put something in.At Connors blessing the children who were 5 for dd1s blessing were now 15 and amazed at what they had done.We then drink lots of champane and eat great food. The days were enjoyed by all, even thoes who would of wanted us to have a religious event. If you want an official person I think the register office now does blessings.I have loved our blessing days.(a niece played the flute for dd1 and dd1 played the violin for Connors)Let me know what you decide. It was treated just like a christening by everyone.Grin

We are having a holliday at home next week.I am looking forward to having my dh around.Sometimes it is easier to stay home.

How are all the babies sleeping?

Igglybuff · 15/08/2010 20:59

Tis a bit quiet round here!

fidelma enjoy your holiday at home! William is sleeping well although the temperature at night has really dropped so he's woken up cold. Had to put him in his thicker sleepbag! It's august! He's walking a bit more now which is exciting. Will have to get him some proper shoes.

scout I'll try and pop on tomo to say happy birthday. I hope you're ok.

HC have a happy holiday!

OP posts:
HappyTangerine · 16/08/2010 12:14

Joe is cutting more bloody teeth, arggh! I accidentally discovered two back teeth coming through on top. That will be 10-we were hoping for a few months off. He's boob feeding like a newborn at the mo, its exhausting at night. Moving around v quickly on his feet now, he loves cruising.

Happy Birthday scout, hope you are having fun at camp

Happy hols HC and fidelma

Iggly Not long to go now! I wish we were there this week, there's a breastfeeding festival on at Ulverston. Thanks for link, well be a little far out so I think might scour ebay for a backpack.

Thanks so much for sharing ifo on the naming ceremony fidelma, it sounds like you had a really special day. Part of our problem is a faith one. Bear with me-this is complicated: Dh and I both come from v Catholic families and our mums will be v upset if we don't get J baptised. We want two v speific godparents that I know wouldn't be welcome in the church-one is muslim, one is pagan! Dh has outright rejected the Catholic church and even went so far as to convert to another religion. He's kind of lapsed from that now. I was still a committed Catholic until J was born but have seriously lost it since all the problems with SIL, a nasty priest I encountered back in Wales and some major issues with church in general. Recently I've been very drawn to buddhism and started taking an interest in humanism. I guess you could say I'm v spiritually confused. It bothers me a lot. So what to do?

Beautiful day here for once so we're off to the park to enjoy the sun x

fidelma · 16/08/2010 21:41

HT do a naming and say that you want to let him choose his faith when he is old enough to make the decision for himself. (if you dare)

Igglybuff · 17/08/2010 06:41

HT I'm sure the church can't reject godparents surely? You could have a thanksgiving ceremony in a church then Joe has the option of getting baptised when he's old enough to know what he wants?

I cant believe how many teeth J has!! William is cutting number 5 and it's causing no end of trouble!!! He's not eating properly and will not be settled by DH at night. Last night he was not happy. I'd got used to decent chunks of sleep so tired today. On the plus side he took about ten steps in a row yesterday :)

When are you going up to the lakes? We're going on Saturday. It's going to take ages and no idea if we'll fit everything in the car...!

OP posts:
fidelma · 18/08/2010 21:57

Great day in Edinburgh with all the family.Huge chineese and a walk down the royal mile with all the festival maddness. The sun has been out and tomorrow looks good.Hope ou are all having a good holiday. x

HappyTangerine · 20/08/2010 15:50

Hello! Have resisted posting because I was full of dark mutterings about molars, teething, teeth grinding and middle of the night (1am to 4am waking), yawn. My fridge broke and the brakes went on the car so expensive week! But have new gorgeous working fridge now, car is being fixed tomorrow, Joseph didn't wake up t all last night and new dishwasher arrives tomorrow. Plus its Friday and soon our holiday!

Joseph has developed some funny habits. He's remembered how to clap again and keeps applauding me-nice to be appreciated.Grin Nappy time is a-shall we say-challenge! He keeps leaping up, climbing part onto the sofa then slides back down on his tummy so he's on his feet, at which point he cruises up and down the length of the sofa with me trying to catch him before he wees over it/me. I have always read lots of books to but recently stsrted doing sound effects to Dear Zoo. BIG mistake-he wants it all the time now. So far today 11 times and counting. I think it must be my monkey impression, he's giggling away at it all the time!

My chest still hasn't improved much and I finish the course of steroid tablets today. I was declared almost asthma free last year and cant belive how much this has set me back, am v wheezy especially at night. I need to start attending asthma clinic againSad. Am hoping some lovely mountain air will do the trick and make it better.

Ta for opinions on baptism/naming. We don't know what to do atm-my mum wouldn't reallyy be happy about a non-Catholic ceremony but thats nothing compsred to my mum in law. She would be truly heartbroken. Maybe we'll just do both.

Iggly Clever W with his walking! Are you all packed? I hope the weather is better up here for you next week, its really bad today.

fidelma Hope you've had a relaxing holiday at home. How is Connor coming along? Edinburgh sounds fab. Is the tram up and running there yet or is Princess street still dug up. The noise was unbelievable when we went.

Big wave to everyone

Igglybuff · 20/08/2010 20:21

Hi HT Grin at Joe's craziness at nappy time. That's hilarious!

Yes we are almost all packed - going tomorrow morning Grin Grin I saw the weather forecast though and not happy. Hopefully it'll pass.

William is getting braver with his walking and likes to walk from the sofa to sofa. He puts his hands in the air and wobbles so not quite stable yet. He's also getting the hang of walking around a corner but soon falls down and crawls to his destination.

He's also getting really toddler like - I was in the supermarket with him and he was screeching whenever he wanted something and woe betide if I didn't get it for him Hmm He is also full of cold though so that may be it. That and a few more teeth coming through :(

Hi all :)

Got back from France today. Had a nice time despite the weather. First few days it was grey wet and miserable. Cold even. But from wednesday it was lovely. Sunny and fab.
We were right at the top where there are some amazing beaches. Really huge and empty.
We went with my parents. Kids loved it and was so nice for dh to have a week off.

Hope you're all ok.

Will recap on thread now.

Oh F can climb stairs now. Good job we took the travel stairgate on hols! Dh fitted the one at home this afternoon.

Oh and if you go to the No Added Sugar website and click where it says look book you'll see F!! Last pic. He looks really different already and it was only taken a few months ago!
www.noaddedsugar.com/categories/Look-Book/
Hopefully the other pic he did will be used in the catalogue when it comes out next month.

:) :) Curry and X factor now :)

Scout19075 · 22/08/2010 08:56

Camp was a nightmare but Sebby-baby was such a good boy. Have LOTS of pictures of his first camp. The struggle now is his routine/pattern is a bit off and bedtime was a nightmare last night -- do I just not fight it and wait until we're back from holiday (we leave Thursday for 10 days (approx))?

princessProudmel · 22/08/2010 20:54

Hi scout. Why was camp a nightmare?

HappyTangerine · 23/08/2010 00:46

Welcome back Scout and princessMel

scout Sorry it was tough, was it the meds/treatment? You did well to get through it on strong meds but to do so with a baby in tow - you are AWESOME! Big pat on the back. Good luck with the laundry mountain!
