littlepea Not too bad now thanks, forcing myself to eat something helped. We're talking about a switch to day shift

Poor Faith and her teeth, I sympathise

Teeth grinding-Oh God, Joseph does this and it goes through me! I'm trying every distraction technique in the book but he just loves his new skill.[hmmm]

Hello

We had the 2nd day of the J/L job yesterday. I got the train both ways and it was fine! I asked random men to help me on the stairs and getting over the gap at the platform

It was for the cover shot. Ds looked so lovely in his outfit. (stripy babygro) But I heard them gushing about another baby who was having her turn and I really think they'll use her.

One of the J/L ladies said that if they don't use his pictures in this catalogue, they may use them in the next catalogue, or the one after that. She said they haven't done a photo shoot for 2 years. Have been using pictures from the last shoot ever since.

But I am daring to hope that the pictures he did on tuesday will be used. As I arrived I saw on the wall some print outs of mocked up catalogue pages. And there were 2 of Ds!! In total 3 of the same pose, but 2 of those 3 were of ds. (does that make sence?)
The lady in charge of the shoot and the J/L lady said that one of the pics in particular was exactly what they were looking for. She said that when they got that shot it was like magic. LOL She also said how much she loved his squidgy feet and ankles

will do personals after my Pizza Hut takeaway!

fidelma · 30/07/2010 22:53

HT Itis very tough and your 1st is such a shock,I have only just got over the shock! It is helpful to go to groups.I did loads with dd1,try and keep up your exercise to lift your moodand always talk to us.

HC that is good advice. We may try and work something like that in the near future.Great idea.I hope the girls are enjoying the holidays. What does your dh think about number 4 ?

Littlepea Great news for your ds. Are you happy to be home?

Princess I cant wait to see some pictures of our famous mn October baby. Please keep us posted (add the pictures to our fb page)

I am going to ask dh to give me a photo shoot for my Christmas (of the children) We used a guy from Glasgow 4 years ago and got the most amazing photos, some taked outside on a November day. He came to the house with his wife who blew bubbles and produced puppets.I have the most amazing photos of ds who was 16 months.I need to get a new batch to include Connor.Everyone has changed soooo much over the last 4 years.

Looking forward to our party on Sunday but I will also be relieved once it is over !

Igglybuff · 31/07/2010 07:26

I wrote a massive post last night and my stupid phone lost it

Anyway!

HT I hope you feel better and can get your DH to change his hours. It sounds like you need to share the load a bit differently. Getting out every day is what keeps me sane, even if it's to the supermarket. Please try not to beat yourself up about the cyst - you do the best for Joe. I know it's hard not to feel guilty - I feel guilty for not getting W's reflux diagnosed earlier and for him being taken into special care unnecessarily when born. But looking back I did the best I could at the time. On the plus side it's the Lakes soon

princess fab news, sounds like DS might make the final cut. You must be so proud

littlepea how is it being home?

scout I'll have a look at FB today and get my thinking cap on

fidelma how do you do it? 53????

Bella what's the programme? I'll look out for it.

HC maybe just eat the cakes as soon as they're cooked... I would

The weather has turned rubbish now. Pah.

fidelma-DH quite keen (ish) on No 4 but I am dithering due to my age and car/space issues. Definitely try that with your Grandmother.

HT-when I read you posts it does sound familiar especially the insomnia and feeling that everyone else does it better. Please, please can you chat to your GP? I do think that altering shifts etc won't actually help the hormone imbalance with is undoubtably causing you to feel the way you do. I have got this imbalance after all my DC and it has always hit me at 8 months ish.

Off to clean at DH's work then more HR stuff to do this afternoon. Very quiet with the girls sleeping over at mum and dads. Crawling Matthew is into everything and his obsession is playing with doors and chewing cables.

fidelma · 31/07/2010 11:20

littlepea72 · 31/07/2010 18:53

Fidelma your fecking nuts woman LOL!!!!! where's my invite??

HC I think I will stick to having just the 2, but somewhere in the back of my mind there is a wee voice.....

Ht think HC is right, maybe you should see the doctor, its not a failure in anyway by doing so, sometimes things happen without us being able to stop them.

Iggly its great being back home! I honestly was not coping to well on my own, sometimes you need a bit of help, and I was starting to go downhill. But Im back & my mum is just down the road (30 miles) if I need her. But man! I miss the German cake!! LOL....My DH is still living in Germany, and my house is more chilled out than ever, and cleaner!

Only another 13 days untill my holiday! Montana here I come!!!!

Scout how are you holding up?

Mel any news on F yet????

fidelma · 31/07/2010 23:22

Rubes is crawling ... Still no teeth. She Is a very happy soul

Am off out but will read later

fidelma... Are you doing another of your epic cooking/party frenzies?!

X

lal123 · 01/08/2010 14:57

hello everyone - apologies for not being on this thread much, do think about you often thoughxx

Maia is crawling and into everything, her favourite pastime is crawling around looking for wee bits of fluff to eat off the floor. She's got 5 teeth now and a stinking cold. Added to a holiday to Spain a couple of weeks ago and her sleeping routine is completely out the window and she's usually back in our bed in the mornings.

Scary to think they are all nearly one!

Scout19075 · 01/08/2010 21:22

PPM -- When will you find out if one of your son's shots will be used in the near future?

littlepea -- Am SOOOO jealous of you're going to Montana!!! It's BEAUTIFUL out there! Loved it. Also just a little envious of a full mouth of teeth.

HT -- I agree with the others, please talk to the GP. Has your DH had any success changing his shift?

fidelma -- How was the party?!

Hello Iggly and lal and HC and everyone!

Still no crawling, but I think at this point S is going to skip it and go straight to walking. He gets around really well to get what he wants. He's pulling himself up and taking steps holding onto things/me. He tries to let go, falls on his bum, looks around and tries again. Today he managed about five seconds solo standing on my bed before going over. No teeth, either, but wonder if we're going through a teething spell -- pink cheeks, red bottom, chewing the hands constantly. He was very unsettled going to bed tonight. for the little man.

We have our nursery induction/taster sessions tomorrow and Tuesday. DH is laughing at me and my list of questions, but having worked in a day care before I know some of what to ask/look for. To me I'm just making sure my little guy is happy and safe and that I provide all that the nursery need.

Iggly -- I'll wish you a happy birthday for Wednesday because I know I'll be a bit preoccupied. Are you doing anything to celebrate?

fidelma · 01/08/2010 22:43

OMG 15 hours straight

wonderful day, friends, family children of all ages great food and drink, sun hot, rain cold, hot and steammie, umbrellas over the BBQ typical Scotland!

ds had a ball, the castle was used all day long, dads and children played football and rugby, treasure hunt, tea and cake.LOTS OF Cleaning up (with great people helping.)

So greatful that I had my family with me.DH slaved all day.

No more parties for a while

Memories

HappyTangerine · 01/08/2010 23:50

Am seeing GP tomorrow , thanks for your advice, you are all lovely. I feel a bit better fter a nice weekend. Big exciting news here is that I think we have the sleeping sorted! DH was around Friday evening and I decided to tackle it with a modified baby whisperer technique. Took 1hr 40 but I was right beside Joe,reassuring him.Took 10 mins last night and tonight to get to sleep! I am very happy! Buoyed on by that success we changed the car seat and wow, what a difference! Joseph genuienly seems happy to be in the car at last.

Huge thank you for the photo comments on facebook. I can't believe how much Joe has grown-the July/Aug ones show he's really filled out. See what I mean about the mad hands and feet crawling?! We had great fun in the park, he loves his football.

scout I hope all goes well tomorrow and Tuesday, will be thinking of you both

fidelma Sounds like a magical day, some great memories-v lad you had help cleaning
up!

littlepea There's no place like home with family around you is there. Montana is beautiful, lucky you!

HC I hope you are starting to feel better, has the tiredness lifted a bit?

Iggly Am really looking forward to the Lakes. There's a bit of a standing joke here in the N West atm-since United Utilities announced the hosepipe ban it has rained and rained...

PPM Fingers crossed for F
big wave to ruby and lal

HappyTangerine · 01/08/2010 23:52

fidelma glad not lad!

Scout19075 · 02/08/2010 11:34

Today went okay. It was just for S to meet everyone and them to meet him and for me to fill out forms, ask questions, etc. He's got a bit of a tummy ache, which I have finally twigged and think it's his breakfast cereal, so he wasn't his usual smiley self but he didn't cry, either. I feel so much better after having been and met the teachers/baby room workers. They're all really nice, the babies were all smiling and playing and climbing all over their teachers. The teachers talked to each other but really engaged with the babies and it was one of those things that I don't think they were doing just because I was there because the babies seemed to know they could go over with a toy or a book and they would get immediate attention. They also follow the baby's routine, so if one baby naps at 10 and the other at 11, they put the baby that naps at 10 down at 10 and the one that naps at 11 down at 11.

Like I said, I feel soooo much better having been there. Tomorrow I drop him off for an hour to help him settle in. I think he'll be fine. As I said to the teachers, while he's only been left with family we do a lot of groups and activities and going out, so he's a social baby and used to noise and strange toys and having new people (babies included) around. In filling out the forms one of them said that a parent can put a camera in the baby's bag (they work on a bag system, where every day you take their nursery bag full of nappies, wipes, milk, etc.) and the teachers will take picutres of your child doing activities and playing with friends. Think I will go and get a disposable camera when I get the individual milk cartons to put in his bag (will be easier, I think, then messing with powder/water for nursery if I'm not feeling great).

Whew! Sorry for the novel, but just wanted to "tell someone" how much better I feel (DH is in meetings so unavailable).

Igglybuff · 02/08/2010 14:00

scout I'm really pleased to hear that you feel better now and that the nursery trip went well. We're interviewing for nannies and I'm scared about handing W over to someone else!!

Dashing out now so will catch up properly later!

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 02/08/2010 15:26

Thanks Iggly. Good luck with the nanny interviews!

HumphreysCorner · 02/08/2010 21:29

HT-hope your trip to the Drs goes well. I feel so much better and the tiredness is better too.

Scout-sounds like Seb was and will be fine.

Iggly-must be a difficult thing to interview nannies. Hope it goes well.

Been to the red beach hut that dad hired today. Just fab! Going again on Weds, Thurs and Fri. Yippee!

Big wave!
